Fear of what is my question, those of us who grew up in the shadow of Hiroshima, needed to acquire strong nerves.

This post was motivated by a response in UTL. After months studying these pages, I have a question. I'm quite aware I've tried people's patience. But still...Basically fellas,   are we all just pissing in the wind? And that includes me.

If authorities are wrong about the potential harms of spreading corona-virus, then we have been scared of a phantom. If they were right then, of course, the restrictions were right. That's why we hire them.

But if they were wrong or evil (as many here believe ) then we have been scared of a phantom, why are we so terrified  of the authorities' motives? There is a continuous outflow of fear on these pages, that  is easily as corrosive as fear of covid19.

It seems to me that,  if the government's task is to spread pure fear, then they have won hands down. The greatest level of fear in the (long...) debate over covid19, vaccine, vaccine certification, ivermectin, molnupiravir, has been fear of  manipulation by the WHO, SAGE, every government in the world, Bill Gates, Soros, every financier pharmaceutical industrialist  or banker. It reeks of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, but without actually mentioning the word Jew (Soros is a Jew btw, Gates is more Waspish(White Anglo Saxon Protestant.)

Hands up, bill gates and george soros handle money better than me. Although I did well on Cranswick Sausages (that's a monster tip btw, buy em and put the price up for me!)

31 years non stop growth! My best stock pick ever!

Seriously, if fear is the object, investors, such as myself, subject themselves to fear every day.  But plain people are not inured to these ups and downs, investors  train to get nerves of iron.

And here's the sad bit lockdown sceptics are the scardest and scariest people on the planet right now, they are far worse than the jumpiest investors. Since the Pandemic is now in its trailing weeks or months, it might be correct to turn down the fear level, whatever it is that  lockdown sceptics fear the most has singularly failed to materialise. Liberal democracy is alive and well, sceptics have failed to deliver a single tangible punch. Basically fellas, we  are all  pissing in the wind, the govt. has played with a straight bat. I'd have done likewise… but less of the lockdown, I don't like locks.I prefer persuasion.

on a similar vein I bought into DRAX a while back and made  enough for a few family  banquets they are a renewables firm who puport to reduce the CO2 burdon, by burning logs on a biblical scale instead of coal.  This is one of my few cynical investments, i.e.  investments made purely for our  own good, such acts often back fire (there may be a god up there to maintain every cynical  act recieves retribution) anyway, it is what is is and we hope to  enjoy the  banquets, and hope they continue... that is life, anyway DRAX went up and the Mr Micawber in me felt vindicated for this caution and wisdom which is doubtlessly misplaced. Good luck in all you decide.... do not be afraid, it all comes out in the wash... this covid19 will pass, perhaps we will be safe on our island as always have  been. Please be proud to be British and do not fear government or virii. Like tax and death those elements are eternal.
