Disney “Does Not Know What to Do” With “Out of Control” Woke Snow White Star Rachel Zegler

by Will Jones
13 March 2025 7:00 PM

Super-woke Snow White star Rachel Zegler is “out of control” and Disney “doesn’t know what to do with her” ahead of the $270 million movie’s release, an insider has revealed. The Mail has the story.

A source told Page Six the company “doesn’t know what to do” with Zegler, 23, because of her repeated insistence on airing her progressive views.

While Zegler was put front-and-centre of the film’s European ‘premiere’, the leading lady wasn’t given the chance to speak to any global press – because they weren’t invited to the secret event.

She jetted off to a remote castle in Segrovia, north-west of Madrid, to perform for around 100 select ‘VIPs’ which included influencers and families, though the event raised eyebrows as she was the only star in attendance, with not even Gal Gadot present.

Disney are reportedly treading carefully with Zegler after she has made a series of bold comments panning the original 1937 classic for its “sexist” traditional romance plot and “dated” love story.

“Disney’s lead actress is out of control,” a source told Page Six. “They don’t know what to do.

“She’s an outspoken 20-something and Disney chiefs have called her directly and asked her to tone down her posts. They’ve called her management, but she won’t listen.

“It’s been this way the entire way through filming. But it’s the tying of her politics to Snow White that is upsetting.”

At Wednesday’s European event was carefully not referred to as a premiere after Disney scaled back the glitzy global premieres in favour of ‘tightly controlled’ press events following the scandals and PR nightmares surrounding the film.

Rather than the usual list of major news outlets flocking to the scene, local Spanish influencers and families from the small city of Segovia, which boasts a population of just 51,000, were among the chosen ‘VIPs’ in attendance.

Zegler was not given the chance to speak to global media as, according to Disney, unnamed ‘press’ and ‘content influencers’ were in attendance – with the global media thousands of miles away after the leading lady’s recent divisive interviews.

Her co-star Gadot, who plays the Evil Queen with Disney coming under the spotlight, was also absent with only director Marc Webb accompanying Zegler to the event as she bizarrely led the press-absent event solo.

The scaled-back European event came in place of glitzy London and LA premieres that had been expected for the high-budget release, with the London leg now having been completely canned.

Earlier this month, an insider told the Mail: “Disney are already anticipating an anti-woke backlash against Snow White and have reduced the media schedule to just a handful of tightly controlled Press events.

“That is why they have taken the highly unusual step not to host a London premiere for the film and are minimising the amount of Press questions that Rachel Zegler gets.”

Later this week, the cast will return to the States, with Zegler and Gadot expected attend a pre-party and screening at Los Angeles’s El Capitan Theatre on March 15th, where “coverage will be limited to photographers and a house crew”.

Worth reading in full.

I think someone might have killed their career…

She is honestly absolutely insufferable, a walking microcosm of the woke mind virus.

She has a weird face, and reminds me of the equally insufferable Communist Snob AOC (Alexandria Ocaso-Cortez) constantly mouthing off in America.

As a freedom of speech absolutist of course she is allowed to say what she wants!

However we don’t need to listen or care what she says! Nor does anyone!

Also, there are no freedoms from consequence.

The stars known to be Diva’s, its part of their persona, and their fans like them for it!

It’s quite possible, if she is so impossible to control, she may not work in films again, as a consequence of her freedom of speech.

Can only hope this film is a complete flop, maybe then they might stop making WOKE films.

Schneewittchen und die sieben Zwerge (the real title) is a German fairy tale written down in the 19th century and no ‘1937 Disney original.’ It’s too bad that German people in the 19th century considered sexist stuff like non-gay marriage perfectly ok and told ‘dated’ love stories to their children.

Wasn’t there a term for taking something from a foreign culture and treating it as if one owned it in lingua wokis, Ms Zegler?

Since it’s German, it probably isn’t. We’re Huns and worse, after all. Native cannibals, so to say.

This goes back to a speech Wilhelm II. held before the German contingent of the multi-national expedition supposed to put down the Boxer rebellion embarked where he asked his soldiers to make an impression on the Chinese similar to the impression Attila and the Huns had made on the Europeans. This got then picked-up by the Anglo-American first world war propaganda which used Huns to refer to German soldiers (and Germans in general) as bloodthirsty barbarians whose most loved past-times where rape, arson and slaughter of defenceless women and children for the sheer fun of it.

In the real world, the Germans had to arm the drivers and other personnel of their baggage trains with pistols and revolvers so that they could defend themselves against attacks from Belgian civilians which posed “difficulties” as these were to remain unarmed according to pre-war planning and now competed with fighting troops for a limited supply of handguns.

That’s what you claim based on “historical stories” written by the same people who invented the first-world war propaganda and I claim something different based on German sources describing the same period. In your case, that’s a bit like going to the Democrats to ask about Trump’s character. Outcome: He’s obviously a Nazi, everyone knows that!

Regarding the specific example I mentioned: That’s something I consider a highly credible source because it’s a half-sentence in a chapter dedicated to describing the German military situation with regards to resources when it became clear that the war wouldn’t end in 1914 and stocks of everything were running low. The original sentence is roughly (translated from memory) There were generally no problems with regards to availability of handguns save that baggage train personnel who weren’t supposed to be supplied with firearms had to be provided with pistols and revolvers because of the unlawful (laws of war) actions of Belgian civilians which caused some difficulties. This was at a time when fighting had long since passed out of Belgium (save around Ypres in the extreme west) and the country was just a nominally peaceful occupied territory (German supplies lines ran through).

The Deutsch-Südwest story is similar (and similar to occurences in other European colonies as well): Bands of natives started to murder settlers and attack administrative buildings. This led to a rather minuscule force of regular German troops to be sent there. After a battle without decisive outcome, the natives retreated through the steppe to South Africa and the German general published an order that they wouldn’t allowed to be back into the colony but would be shot on sight if they tried to re-enter. Nobody really knows how many of these people existed to begin with and nobody has an idea how many of them died. That’s all just politically motivated guess-work.

That is a very interesting historical snippet about the origin of the term “Hun” falsely applied to the Ethnic European Germans.

There are also interesting hints and snippets about the reason the diminutive, shaven-headed Ethnic Oriental (Mongol) Huns were able to defeat the tall, strong Ethnic European Germanic/Gothic tribes with their long beautiful flowing hair and long beards.

Like the old American Western films showing Ethnic Oriental “Indians” shooting arrows even while sliding over to one side of their galloping horses for protection, their cousins The Huns were similarly adept at riding their small steppe horses, but they also used a secret weapon: the lariat or lasso, which has been falsely attributed as originating with 19th century South Americans/Mexicans.

These Hun lassoes were used to deadly effect, easily entangling the long hair and beards of the tall Germanic warriors, who were also incapacitated by the Huns other secret weapon: poisoned arrows and weapons that paralyzed their opponents’ arms, so they could not even lift their own weapons. This is what happened at The Battle of Maldon, in which the tall, famously white-haired “Earl Byrhtnoth and his thegns led the English against a Viking invasion”, which ended in terrible defeat. Saxons in particular were known as being “born with white hair”, the rare white-blond that occurs only in Iceland now, it seems.

The Vikings were, in fact, Huns who had invaded, conquered and enslaved the indigenous Ethnic European peoples of Scandinavia, and took over their identity.

Look at the Bayeux Tapestry, at the warriors with the back of their heads shaved. This traditional hairstyle allowed them to easily slip out of any lassoes, which the Europeans did not use anyway.

I’m not sure what the fuss is about. Is this person an employee of Disney? I doubt it. Regardless, for God’s sake can we just remember that views expressed by individuals do not necessarily represent the views of those who employ them?

I won’t watch “woke” films but I will watch films that probably have “woke” people in them.

I’m not fan of Disney these days, at least from what I read. I doubt I’d be a fan of the actress either, though I know nothing more about her than is mentioned above. I just think we need to separate what people do in their private lives from what they do in their professional lives. It works both ways. I certainly have views that the founder of the firm I work for would find repugnant. Whether he’d have tried to sack me for expressing them other than anonymously, I don’t know, but I didn’t fancy finding out.

I think Disney went through too much trouble with this movie (it was supposed to be launched 2 or 3 years ago and I believe it’s their most expensive production, partly because of that) to get rid of her at this point. She has been very outspoken in her pro-Palestine support and had a rant on Instagram against Trump when he won, but Gina Carano got sacked without blinking for showing support for Trump and comparing having different political opinions in the US with the treatment of Jews in Nazi Germany.

Not in my industry, but in hers, yes. She’s essentially a face of the company. Plus, they fired Gina Corano for her moderate politics.

Stirring up any negative PR for the company is absolutely something they’d want on the contract I’d imagine.

You’re being deliberately obtuse! Movie studio profits depend on the public liking the actors. End of!

Remember the actor Armand Hammer, whose career has been damaged by his views on cannibalism, for example.

I’d prefer it if movie studio profits depended on how good the movies were. Life is too short to start digging into the personal views of the people who provide you with goods and services. Acting is just a job, like working on the till at Tescos. I guess other people view it differently, but then none of us can complain when people with views like ours get sacked for expressing them.

I am certainly not sneering at any of them. Anyone doing a job is valuable by definition – even public sector workers paid with taxpayers money (sometimes).

In fact I am defending the right of all workers to express their opinions in a personal capacity. And the importance (to me) of separating the person from the job they do – if someone does a good job at whatever they do, I appreciate it even if I might disagree strongly with their views on other matters.

I used to manage major accounts and I’m on the board. I would support the right of all of our employees to express their personal views where those views are not directly relevant to the jobs we do – i.e. not rubbishing our own products or services or those of our clients.

But the views of this awful actress ARE “directly relevant to the job she does”, and have already had a detrimental effect on her employer’s profits from the film they contracted her to star in, and for which they paid her a lot of money.

She is “rubbishing” the company’s product.

I guess she is rubbishing a previous product rather than the film she’s in, though I think there is zero chance that revenues from the previous version of Snow White will be adversely affected by what she says – in fact the opposite.
Would the article and the comments on it have had the same slant had this been a “right wing” actor expressing their views?

So you think some of the commenters here would be calling for an actor to be sacked for expressing “non woke” views? I doubt it. I don’t think the article would have even made it to DS, and if it had then there would have been outrage that an employer might be trying to “cancel” someone for their views.

You’ve hit the nail on the head.

There is an obvious qualitative difference between those fronting up a multi-million pound project, who express an opinion, and anonymous employees who express an opinion. The former carry far more impact than the latter.

And thus it becomes not merely a question of freedom of speech, but also responsibility towards others, who depend on that product or project.

I wish more artists and entertainers would keep their political opinions for themselves especially in these times of deep divisions, and same for businesses. I really don’t understand why they would want to alienate segments of their consumers just to express a point that doesn’t change anything anyway. And with so much choice available more than ever, loyalty should really be a valuable worth protecting.

A great lesson for knowing your place from The King of Rock and Roll:
