What is going on in Georgia?
This:
‘..at most of the polling stations I visited, groups of people hovered outside watching voters come and go, creating an air of surveillance. They were often large, intimidating-looking men, in groups of three or four, not talking but simply watching.’
‘…inside every single station I visited I witnessed a small video camera pointed at the voting booths or at the ballot boxes. I was told they were set up by Georgian Dream or election officials, purportedly for security and to prevent ballot stuffing.
This all sent a very clear message: We are watching.’
Eoghan Murphy, head of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe’s (OSCE) ODIHR election-observation mission, concluded that the parliamentary elections were not “in line with international democratic principles.”
Considering the typically restrained standards of the OSCE’s commentary on elections, the ODIHR statement was remarkably critical for a diplomatic organization and outlined evidence that supports many of the claims made by national organizations and international observers.
I echo Zourabichvili’s assertion that the elections were a “Russian special operation,”

Why?
‘Georgia provides partial control over Azerbaijan and Türkiye. For example, the Baku-Ceyhan oil pipeline runs through Georgia. In short, Georgia can disrupt a lot for this alliance.
Another point: with Georgia under Russian control, Armenia would be geographically trapped, left with no path to distance itself from Moscow.’
Where else could that kind of thing happen?
Oh! It already did!:
‘So-called “pro-Russian” sentiment in Moldova is another complex phenomenon. The most prominent pro-Russian figure in contemporary Moldovan politics is exiled tycoon Ilan Shor, who was sentenced in absentia to fifteen years in jail by a Moldovan court for his role in a $1 billion theft. Shor, who now lives in Moscow, was accused—not without reason—of vote-buying in the recent elections. But why do tens of thousands of Moldovans accept 100 euros and cast their ballots as Shor tells them? The answer is poverty, lack of education, and disillusionment with politicians.’
The Kremlin’s attempted interference in Moldova’s and Georgia’s elections is the latest exhibition of its malign intent towards the West, which has largely underestimated Russia’s willingness to undermine democratic institutions, especially on the periphery of Europe.
The warning signs are clear. From Ukraine to Georgia, from the Balkans to Moldova, Russia’s intentions are clear: to subjugate neighboring countries, weaken their sovereignty, and ensure that they remain under the Kremlin’s control. The elections in Moldova and Georgia are another chapter in Russia’s relentless campaign to dismantle the foundations of the post-war European order.
After Moldova is once more under Russian direction, things will start to get even more serious.
Control Georgia, cut off Armenia.
Control Belarus, Moldova, cut off the Baltic States.
Only one problem: isolating the Baltic States also requires the annexation of the Suwalki Corridor, the territory of NATO member, Poland.
That is why General Sir Roland Walker has given the British Army three years to prepare for war.
Poland’s defence budget? 4.8% of GDP. Britain? 2.3%.
‘Modern strategy…….deals with the use of military forces in peace as well as in war, and also in all those ambiguous conditions in between. It deals with the use of military forces to prevent conflict, to control conflict if prevention fails, and to terminate conflict if it cannot be controlled.
In a modern strategy the Atlantic army must provide for the West a sense of security to a degree that will encourage it to act and react in respect to global events with confidence. That forecloses to (Russia) the options of intimidation, blackmail, and political leverage.’
General DeWitt Smith
Our enemy is within.
The enemy within is emboldened by the success with impunity of our enemies without.
British prosecutors charged two Russians, who likely used the aliases Alexander Petrov and Ruslan Boshirov, with the nerve agent poisoning of a British citizen and his daughter in the English city of Salisbury.
However, within weeks, the leaders of the United States, France, Germany and the United Kingdom concluded the Russian government was behind the attack, noting there is “no plausible alternative explanation.”
Three months later, a British couple in Amesbury, England, fell severely ill after coming into contact with a perfume bottle containing the same poison that affected the Skripals. The woman later died. She had sprayed the substance on her wrist, thinking it was perfume.’
Russian officials and state-run media spread several false claims after the incident including:
Three weeks after the attack, two-thirds of social media posts about it came from Kremlin-supported sources, according to 2018 analysis from the Atlantic Council’s Digital Forensic Research Lab.
RT and Sputnik, two state-controlled television networks, produced hundreds of misleading stories about the incident in an attempt to influence Western media.’
Not Skripal again?! UK Column has many interesting reports on the matter. If there really was some extremely poisonous material being passed around, it can only be a huge coincidence that Porton Down, not far from Salisbury, gaily experiments with research into such poisons.
‘Dr Vil Mirzayanov exposed the existence of Novichok agents in the early 1990s, after working for 26 years as a chemist in the State Scientific Research Institute of Organic Chemistry and Technology in Moscow, where they were developed.
His final job was to try to ensure that the secret work on chemical weapons would not be detected.
He said, “Slowly over time I came to the conclusion that I was participating in this criminal enterprise. And after that, I decided to go to the public with revelations.”
He was shocked the USSR continued to develop chemical weapons despite having signed an agreement in 1990 with the United States to stop producing and testing them.’
They were often large, intimidating-looking men, in groups of three or four, not talking but simply watching.
OSCE observers? Georgians? If they were only watching, maybe they had nothing better to do?
I witnessed a small video camera pointed at the voting booths or at the ballot boxes …
What is wrong with wanting a record that voters and ballot boxes were not interfered with? If there were a camera pointed at the voter’s face and monitoring which box he ticked, that is a completely different story but that is not what is written here.
The Kremlin’s attempted interference in Moldova’s and Georgia’s elections is the latest exhibition of its malign intent towards the West …
You mean the ‘supposed’ interference, just as there is no possible reason for suspecting western/EU interference (ha, ha).
And why would the Kremlin possibly have a malign intent towards the west? What possible reason could there be for such an attitude?
Because dozens of countries in the West support USA’s military attempt to overthrow the Russian government? Because USA and NATO want to line missiles all along Ukraine’s 2,000km border to Russia? No, surely not!
The warning signs are clear. From Ukraine to Georgia, from the Balkans to Moldova, Russia’s intentions are clear: to subjugate neighboring countries, weaken their sovereignty, and ensure that they remain under the Kremlin’s control.
Is it not USA which just loves subjugating not only neighbouring countries but also very distant countries, weakening their sovereignty and ensuring they remain under US/western control?
Clearly Russia is interested in close relationships with neighbouring countries and, outside our cosy western world, a great many other countries are interested in encouraging close relationships with Russia, as documented by the recent BRICS Summit, a meeting of 36 governments, representing 57% of the world population and nearly half of the world output measured in international prices.
The non-western world is namely convinced they can work together without aggression, without sanctions, without threatening military might.
Perhaps we should try that!
‘Vladimir Putin won the presidential election for the fifth time, receiving a record 87% of the votes in the history of modern Russia, with an equally record turnout of 77%. With it comes a record level of falsifications. Cedar’s team has studied the detailed results of 12 federal elections during Putin’s reign and documented various types of violations using electoral statistics methods. This is how Russian elections transformed from being relatively fair to a complete imitation of the voting process.’
https://cedarus.io/research/evolution-of-russian-elections
And who is Cedar, questioning Putin’s success? Cedar’s “team consists of independent researchers, data scientists and journalists who have been studying Russia for many years and are now working in exile”. It is sad they are in exile but, whereas protesting against war is a good thing, countries actually at war and under existential threat have little patience with such people – as was the case, for example, in UK during WWII.
The media did not question Putin’s success at the time because western polls were expecting exactly such a result.
Putin has, however, been in power for 25 years which should normally raise eyebrows. The problem is that he is highly intelligent and an experienced and successful diplomat. He is also surrounded by highly intelligent individuals: Lavrov, Peskov, Zakharova.
If only UK could boast being led by intelligent individuals determined to benefit the country instead of destroying it!
“The natural population decrease in Russia in 2021 amounted to 1.042 million people, compared to 688,700 people in 2020 and 317,200 people in 2019.” This data has plenty to say about the looming collapse of the “Russian nation.” If something should have been a “reasonable security concern,” it was not as much NATO expansion per se as the lack of human bodies to protect Russian borders.
Thus, the Ukrainians forcefully and violently displaced by the Russian invasion represent one of the Kremlin’s main gains in this war. In this sense, the story of kidnapped Ukrainian children is not just one of many horrifying Russian war crimes, but represents the core of this military aggression.’
Russia is now ranked in fourth place in the list of economically most successful countries (from fifth place).
“Name one kidnapped child!” was the response of one of Judging Freedom’s commentators (Larry Johnson?).
I imagine many Ukrainian parents sent their children to safety in Russian schools – something that they would not want to admit to any Ukrainian authorities. Now why is that?
‘The face of the campaign portraying the Russian leadership as the savior of Ukrainian children is Mariya Lvova-Belova. The Russian children’s rights commissioner reports directly to the president, chosen by Putin to embody the family spirit, faith and patriotism. The 38-year-old is married to an Orthodox priest, has five biological children and is the guardian of several others.
Lvova-Belova has never made a secret of the abduction of Ukrainian children. On the contrary: Her Telegram channel provides a rich source for investigators in The Hague. Business trips to the occupied territories and meetings with Ukrainian children in holiday camps are well documented there. Back in July, the first 14 children who had been placed with Moscow foster families received their Russian identity papers.’

Allegedly responsible for the war crime of unlawful deportation of population (children) and that of unlawful transfer of population (children) from occupied areas of Ukraine to the Russian Federation (under articles 8(2)(a)(vii) and 8(2)(b)(viii) of the Rome Statute). The crimes were allegedly committed in Ukrainian occupied territory at least from 24 February 2022. Yes, the US ICC. Whatever happened to Netanyahu’s arrest warrent?
Sorry, warrant.
The International Criminal Court (ICC) is considering a prosecution request for arrest warrants against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and two Hamas leaders for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity.
Israel also faces charges of alleged state responsibility for violations of the 1948 Genocide Convention in the war in Gaza at the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
Russia is huge, and different regions have different average salaries.
The average monthly salary for the whole Russia is about 70 000 rub (~$780 for today, but USD exchange rate is dropping like a stone in Russia).
The median monthly salary in Russia is about 40000 rub (~$440–450).
A minimum monthly salary (now 20000 rub, about 220 USD) is just about the living wage in Russia.

Frank Haviland with a thoughtful but restrained view of the Kaba case. Sadly, all the attention is on the deceased thug when common sense dictates that it is Police Ohfficer Martyn Blake who deserves our consideration. Owing to a vindictive judge his life and that of his family has been ruined.
The Khant plays a starring role as usual attempting to wind up the bleks. I do hope the day comes when he relies on actual Police protection and it magically fades away. He’s a bloody cancer on the country.
Do we know why the judge saw fit to release the name of the policeman? I’m not following this case closely so I didn’t know if the justification had been mentioned anywhere. As far as I can see there is zero rationale for him doing this, in fact it just comes across as an act of malice. As I said in my original post, I’m not sorry if some hardened criminal has been ‘offed’, and the way I see it, it’s a case of ”you live by the sword, you die by the sword”, and it’s a fitting end for somebody who seemed quite comfortable with being at the other end of the gun and pulling the trigger. If it wasn’t the policeman it would surely have been a fellow black gangster at some stage, and then who’s going to cry ”racism!”? The Khant’s statement in that article is truly delusional. But we know how much he loves the London crime scene, going by the worsening crime stats under his watch. It’s what happens when you ingratiate yourself with the black community and brown-nose the migrants. Blimey, will there ever be a white London mayor again?
Richard Tice !! On GB News states that Reform want “ Nothing To Do “ with “That Lot “ meaning all the ordinary People at Saturdays London Rally organised by Tommy Robinson ! The attendees will have voted for Reform you F-cking Clown !!!…
Tice is a moron and could do Reform a massive solid by foxtrotting oscar.
Reform have largely blown their chances of significant electoral progress after this weekend. Obviously they don’t really want the gig.
After this weekend I will not be lending any support to Reform. I have a friend who has been asked to stand for Reform and we tend to share similar views. I will have to let him know that where Reform are concerned I’m out.
Yes I didn’t see the Tice interview but there’s plenty of twitterings on X, and many people are saying they’re going to stop supporting Reform now. It’s like Farage not defending Tommy as well. I just get the distinct impression none of them have seen any of Tommy’s excellent and top quality documentaries and they’re just harking back to his ancient EDL days, and want to distance themselves from him on that skewed and illogical basis, because they still judge him to be some football hooligan, extremist type. I understand TR may be a contentious figure, but that’s just because he’s all in when it comes to exposing the failures and corruption of the establishment, therefore he’s deemed public enemy number 1 as a result. But you can’t say you’re for the people and not acknowledge somebody’s humongous efforts, to massive personal cost to himself, to support the British patriots and give ordinary, censored and silenced people a voice. They need to watch one of his documentaries and then I doubt they’d be so hasty to judge. I think the thing with the Tice interview was his dismissive and insulting ”that lot” comment, which went down like a ton of bricks with many Reform supporters. ”That lot” are his bloody voters. Show some respect!

Wrong Mr Halligan and you know it. Liz Truss was undermined by the Bank of England. Secondly, she was in office for only 47 (?) days and for half of those the country was in mourning for Queen Elizabeth.
Lazy journalism.
Putting material behind a paywall on your page is a bit frustrating: paying the Telegraph for their effusions, even the odd interesting one, is akin to paying Goebbels’ pension! The legacy media are not our friends and we would do well to let them die in the cold….
This goes to the heart of a major challenge facing ordinary people. We all know good people who have been compromised, often through no egregious fault of their own, by their association with the forces that seek to enslave us. Lockdown Skeptics are still in the crosshairs of the enemy. I am banned from expressing my opinions on the Telegraph since 2021. The paper lies fluently and agressively in common with the other so-called legacy media. So any good news from them goes out with the stinky bathwater!!
