RSPCA Reported to Watchdog After President Chris Packham Urged Barclays Customers to Set Themselves on Fire

by Richard Eldred
24 August 2024 7:00 PM

The RSPCA is feeling the heat from the charity watchdog after Chris Packham, its president, advised Barclays customers to set themselves on fire. The Telegraph has the story.

The BBC presenter gave a speech earlier this month in which he said that anyone who banked with Barclays should “stick your head in a bucket of fuel and set fire to it”.

Greg Smith, the Shadow Business Minister, reported the RSPCA, as well as the RSPB, of which Packham is Vice-President, to the Charity Commission. He wrote to the individual charities demanding that the groups “consider” his position.

He told the organisations that Packham’s words were a “deeply damaging contribution to the degradation of public discourse”, particularly in the context of recent riots and disorder.

Mr. Smith said that both charities should consider whether Packham is a “fit and proper person” to remain in the roles he holds.

Packham, 63, urged people not to bank with financial institutions that invest in “fossil fuels, weapons and poverty” at an Action for Wildlife Day in Derbyshire.

He said: “But, if anyone here is banking with Barclays, then, I suggest you stick your head in a bucket of fuel and set fire to it because you’re burning our planet down. And, it’s time to put this stuff behind us.”

Barclays is Europe’s biggest fossil-fuel backer, according to environmental campaigners, who say it has channelled £186 billion to the industry since 2016. …

David Bean, a spokesman for the Countryside Alliance, said: “Mr. Packham’s most recent comments are the latest in an escalating series of bizarre histrionics that he has shown no willingness to control.

“The charities that have closely associated with him ought to consider carefully how many lines they can stand by and watch him cross. If they want to avoid the public concluding that they approve of his behaviour, silence is untenable.”

Worth reading in full.

Stop Press: BBC Two viewers have accused Chris Packham of spouting “bile” after the first episode in his Earth biography series was rebroadcast, according to the Express.

Packham is batsh*it crazy, and deeply anti-human. As a defender of free speech I support his right to say what he did, but both the RSPCA and RSPB should have words with him at the very least. He is using his position with them to propagate this weirdness, and they should dissociate themselves from it.

He cannot represent a charity for the preservation of birds and support wind turbines and solar farms that kill and damage the habitats of our birds.

He probably criticises those as well, albeit not all at the same time. I don’t know – I never listen to him these days. However, his medical situation that might have an effect on his behaviour is quite well known, i.e. ADHD. Perhaps he’ll use that as a form of defence if the s—t hits the fan.

Its birds not shit. And they have been hitting the fans ever since the turbines were first erected.

It is a similar picture with bees and other insects which get zapped by microwave MASER beams transmitted between long distance mobile phone repeater stations. MASER beams are the same a LASER beams but consisting of invisible microwave radiation instead of visible light radiation.

So in pretty much a straight line along many miles between repeater stations will be found a trail of dead insects.

And as it is 24/7 it is a steady process of destruction of insect life faster than the insects can reproduce.

So if you are wondering where all the bees have gone ….

    Who says he is.

He does not look the least bit autistic.

There are specific behavioural characteristics needed to be present before a diagnosis of autism can be made.

Being a plonker is not one of them.

I really do not give a rats’ ass.

We have all these media types popping out of the woodwork claiming to be autistic and ADHD when there is a real problem which is costing you and me and everyone else billions per annum and out politicians are too cowardly IMHO to say boo to a goose.

Bizarrely the RSPB itself is fully behind wind farms as are the RSPCA. I suppose every mutilated animal and bird is kerrchiiing in the tills.

NB. RSPB is a financially secure charity with substantial income from other sources.

Yet government still gives them many millions more.

    Why?

Buying silence and cooperation and ensuring they are inside pissing out and not outside pissing in.

RSPCA in contrast is an even more secure charity with the majority of its income from Donations and legacies over £122 million pa of its total of £132 million pa.

No information on funds from government suggests none is received.

Mr. Smith said that both charities should consider whether Packham is a “fit and proper person” to remain in the roles he holds.

Packham is IMHO a deeply unwatchable TV presenter with an odd speech impediment but as a fanatic he is also not fit and proper.

Any kind of TV programme trailer featuring him saying anything has always been a turn off because basically he is incredibly boring IMHO.

Freedom of Speech does not mean one can say absolutely anything and it is deemed okay. Freedom of Speech comes with limits; everything has a price. Packham had no right whatsoever to say what he did. He should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
Let’s be clear here: if he had been speaking on behalf of Anti-lockdown, anti death jabs, anti nut zero he would be on the dole having been hounded out of every position he holds and his profession. He would also be facing a hefty fine if not a jail sentence.

Common law: it is a passive Right – freedom of speech unless to incite hatred and violence.

But: must prove intent, prove possibility audience could be invited, prove there was incitement.

The Packham nitwit had a Common law Right to speak as he did. I doubt any of the above three conditions could be met.

I don’t mind what he said, I mind others being prosecuted or sanctioned for similar comments or less, elsewhere in other circumstances in our two-tier standards, police and justice ‘system’.

So as far as I am concerned it’s a case of sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander.

It’s always the ones you least expect isn’t it?

”The Islamic State group has claimed responsibility for a knife attack at a diversity festival in Germany which killed three people on Friday.
ISIS said in a statement on Saturday that one of its members carried out the deadly attack in Solingen, western Germany, ‘in revenge for Muslims in Palestine and everywhere’.
‘The perpetrator of the attack on a gathering of Christians in the city of Solingen in Germany yesterday was a soldier of the Islamic State’ group, said a statement from the jihadists’ Amaq news agency on the Telegram messaging app.

The knifeman, who is still on the run, fatally stabbed two men, aged 67 and 56, and a 56-year-old woman and injured eight others in Fronhof central square at around 9.45pm on August 23.
Police have launched a manhunt for the killer while a 15-year-old boy is also being quizzed over claims he knew about the attack hours before, but failed to report it.
According to local media, two witnesses claimed to have seen the teen speaking to the attacker before he unleashed his rampage, and said that they heard him say: ‘I’m going to stab everyone’.”

Packham and everyone eco fundamentalist lunatic like him would be locked up beside all the “misinformation” and “fake news” people if he wasn’t actually batting for the same team as the government. Miliband is probably a huge Packham fan.
—–“The Science” is anything but clear, but the politics most certainly is. The science is riddled with uncertainty that the eco fundamentalists on the brainwashing media led from the front by the BBC that we all fund refuse to even consider. The doubts and uncertainties are never spoken about, and all the public get is an anti capitalist rant day after day about this “climate crisis” that will apparently kill hundreds of millions of people, but with not a shred of evidence.
—–In all things there is Cost/ Benefit. —The benefit of fossil fuels far outweighs any risks and harms, and in actual fact modern coal plants, like Didcot that our government destroy are very clean, and all harmful pollutants are scrubbed out. Ofcourse when our politicians only care about non pollutants like CO2 which harms no one it is obvious that we are going to have an energy policy straight out of cloud cuckoo land, and the cuckoo Miliband has recently arrived to shit in all our nests.

I can no longer watch Spring Watch as I find it very hypocritical of Packham to present the programme. He is strongly in favour of wind turbines. How can a bird lover support wind turbines? I cannot understand it.

The Labour government are planning a huge number of wind turbines going from Norfolk to Suffolk to Essex. These devices will kill large numbers of our migratory birds. Large blades decimating birds and bats can only be described as animal cruelty! The RSPCA and RSPB should have nothing to do with Chris Packham.

I told a young lady manning an RSPB stall that I’d consider joining when the RSPB stopped supporting in the installation of bird-slaughtering windmills.

She got very flustered and then said “We are consulted when the locations are considered.”

So that was a “NO” from me.

I’ve been a Barclays customer for 50 years and I’m happy that they invest in our energy security. As we all know, there is only one person who should stick their head in that bucket.
A guy who is full of BS and all-consumed by his religion .

In the headline photo, the placards the protesters (including Packham) are waving in the air are printed using an ink cartridge – a petroleum based product. Many of them would have travelled there in a vehicle, most of which would be running of petrol or diesel. If the coal-fired power station that feeds energy into the Grid ceased providing electricity to the BBC studio, Chris Packham would not have been able to broadcast his rantings.

Oh yes, and where do we get that bucket of fuel that we’re supposed to stick our heads into?

RSPCA and RSPB both notably uninterested when large numbers of birds and bats – supposedly protected – are being chopped up by wind turbines and whales being killed by offshore wind turbines.
