Leo Varadkar Resigns as Irish Prime Minister Following Defeat in Two ‘Progressive’ Referendums

by Will Jones
20 March 2024 1:04 PM

Leo Varadkar has resigned as Ireland’s Prime Minister and leader of his Fine Gael party following his shock defeat in two ‘progressive’ constitutional referendums. The Telegraph has the story.

The Taoiseach made the announcement at Government Buildings in Dublin on Wednesday, bringing an end to his second stint as Ireland’s leader.

“After careful consideration and soul searching,” he said, “I don’t feel I’m the best person for the job anymore.”

Mr. Varadkar, 45, said there were “personal and political” reasons for standing down, without elaborating.

“There is never a right time to stand down. Politicians are human beings, we give everything we can until we can’t anymore.”

He added: “I have nothing else lined up.”

Mr. Varadkar will step down after suffering defeat in a referendum held to remove sexist [sic] language about women’s duties in the home from the Irish Constitution.

It came after the first meeting of the Cabinet held after the double referendum, in which voters also refused to expand the constitutional definition of the family beyond married couples.

But Mr. Varadkar will also be aware that his centre-Right Fine Gael and coalition partners Fianna Fail have long lagged far behind Left-wing Sinn Fein in the polls.

Ireland must hold its next General Election, which Sinn Fein is expected to win, by March 2025.

The latest victim of go woke, go broke, it seems.

Worth reading in full.

Voters are strange creatures: they vote down the two ‘progressive’ constitutional changes but then back Sinn Fein – a radical Leftist neo-Marxist party that would do far more than remove constitutional references to women and redefine the family.

But then again, does it not just show the lack of real choice given to voters at elections, pushing them into parties with agendas and policies they completely disagree with. Every major party in Ireland backed the referendums, yet the voters clearly didn’t.

An obvious solution to this gulf between the political class and the people they are supposed to represent would be to be more like Switzerland and hold many more referendums, breaking the monopoly on political power held by the major parties.

On the other hand, don’t assume that referendums would always favour freedom and common sense. The Swiss infamously backed draconian Covid emergency measures in several referendums. There is no perfect solution. But, to channel Winston Churchill for a moment, there are some less bad solutions that it might be worth trying from time to time.

Stop Press: On X, Michael Shellenberger notes Varadkar’s Government “is still demanding the power to send police into homes to confiscate computers and cell phones in a bid to censor the entire internet, worldwide”.

So in fact trans women cannot have vaginas, they admit, but only glory holes or whatever the term is to bracket vaginas with surgical fistulae.

Given there can be a complication of faeces leaving via the modified exit, the older term “furry front bottom” seems more appropriate.

Absolutely HP…mad as a box of frogs and of course we all know where the IEA gets its seemingly bottomless funding from! In fact any organisation with the words ‘international’,’global’, or ‘world’ in its title, including the United Nations, is going to be part of THEM.

Disproportionate money-laundering rules

Straining gnats and swallowing camels. What are the COVID contracts and the Ukraine war other than money-laundering on a cosmic scale, with no attempt at control by central banks? Or as one pundit puts it, they are the last asset-stripping fling of the monetary system by elites before it collapses and they introduce the CBDCs to control the completely impoverished masses.

It’s the financial equivalent of putting young cannabis users in jail for years whilst ignoring the Biden family’s international fraud.

I thought Pride had finished and all the lunatic, perverted, indoctrinating exhibitionists had crawled back under a rock. But this footage is from yesterday and many parades were still ongoing, in bloody July!! And what’s worse, the half-baked actual criminals are being given a stage and microphone to spread their vile, nonsensical, hateful madness. Has Pride morphed into a year-long event or something?? This is insane. ( Sorry if you can’t see the vid due to Twitter still being a pain in the arse. )

”Trans activist who spent 25 years in jail for kidnap, torture & attempted murder appeared on stage at London Trans Pride today waving an ANTIFA flag:

“If you see a TERF punch them in the f**ing face.”

Sarah Jane Barker spent 25 years in Jail for the attempted murder of a prisoner after being imprisoned for kidnapping and torturing her stepmother’s brother.”

It’s at times like this when I wish Twitter was still unavailable for non-Twitterati like me. What a ghastly spectacle, Mogs. This is real hate speech in action which, being in a country where we have free speech, is of course totally OK. It shows how utterly vile some of these people are though. They are just haters at heart – if they have hearts that is. Yes, with you about how Pride has leaked into being a constant presence with all the useful idiots clapping along as their society is deconstructed around them. Soros must be rubbing his hands with glee.

So you can see stuff now? Well that’s good to know. 🙂
Yes it’s absolutely insane and it makes something abundantly clear; we need to build more mental institutions. These people bring a whole new flavour to the term ”asylum seeker”.

Most of the shops in my local town (including all the charity shops, mostly staffed by older women who are the transactivists main target of hatred) have still got their rainbow sh*t in the window, so it appears that we’re to kowtow to the illogical ideology of the tiny minority for at least the rest of the summer. Madness.

And Will’s appraisal of the letter sent by Fair Cop to the CPS as “excellent” is indeed spot on. A good read and it doesn’t half stick the knife in. No wriggle room here.

Good one, HP. I can imagine the response will be winging its way back quick pronto with apologies and explanations of how they are going to become more neutral is their guidance and rulings and a kick up the arse for Sophie Cook as she is booted out the door…well, of course THAT won’t happen. It’ll more likely be ‘crickets’ and ‘tumbleweed’. It’s what these organisations do when challenged because they haven’t got a coherent argument for sound reasoning plus their shadow masters will be urging them to ignore anyone contesting their new guidance. It’s an utter disgrace.

“…call me old-fashioned” and ‘the last time we bailed out the banks they didn’t have a problem with the colour of our money.’

The last time we bailed out the banks young Master Watson wasn’t even born.

Old fashioned – he’s fourteen.

Come on DS.

Brilliant HP! Maybe ‘Young Shaver Me Lad’ Watson is just an old soul in a young body but I do think he misses the glaringly obvious but then he’s doing jolly well for a lad of his age and gives me hope that the youth of today aren’t all devoid of thinking abilities. If the banks are promoting this ideology then it coming down from further up the banking greasy pole, the central banks and further up at the greasiest and most slime-ridden point of the pole – The Bank for International Settlements and further up still to the shadowy figures of the Rothschilds, Warburgs, Rockefellers and so on. These people are directing the collapse of society so that it can be reconstructed or reset. It’s what they do and what this is.

While having no real idea as to who is behind all this, and no brief for the 3 families you mention, I think in trying to get through this all it is simplistic and counterproductive to blame everything on them. There are lots of descendants in these families who may be comfortably off, but not super wealthy, who have nothing to do with running any banking business nowadays. Rothschilds Bank is now a very small player in the City let alone world stage. Although Sunday Times rich list has to be taken with a grain of salt, recently Lord Rothschild was at number 210 and by comparison the founder of Hargreaves Lansdown was at 94. The Rockefeller Foundation is still publically actively involved, and so I think should be specified by name, rather than a general referral to the Rockefellers; while I do not know if any of the many descendants are today still involved with running the Foundation.

I’m with you but the couple did look genuinely happy on their day and did not deserve to have this idiotic grinning woman throwing orange confetti at them. JSO do not seem to have any boundaries and I feel that they are being set up to do more outrageous acts for a reason: laws against protest and invasion of personal space.

If there’s one thing to take from this article it’s that African countries are corrupt AF and ”Covid” provided the perfect cover to bump certain politicians off. I knew there were several but this article contains a list of 25 MPs from South Africa alone who died with ”from Covid 19” as the official cause of death. Many from other African nations are included also. If you look at their ages there’s only a couple of people over 70yrs in there, so this completely flies in the face of what the rest of the world was seeing. There’s also a few car crashes and assassinations in there for good measure. 🙁

Hope this poll is correct. I’d hazard a guess the true number is more than 72%, especially due to the treatment of the farmers;

”Opinions among the Dutch are divided regarding Mark Rutte’s future and the formation of a new Cabinet. Almost three-quarters (72 percent) of respondents of the EenVandaag opinion panel say that Rutte should not return in a new Cabinet. One in five respondents (22 percent), mainly VVD voters, find a return of the outgoing prime minister acceptable. However, Two-thirds (65 percent) of VVD voters want to keep open the possibility of a Rutte V Cabinet, EenVandaag reported on Saturday.
The poll shows that six out of ten voters (62 percent) think it is good that the Cabinet has fallen due to failed asylum agreements. Most VVD voters (60 percent) and CDA voters (65 percent) support the resignation. “Inevitable and necessary,” one panelist summarizes. Another writes that “They only played political games for their own gain,” EenVandaag reported.”

“Annual Survey of International & Comparative Law Volume 22 | Issue 1 Article 6 2017 Accountability of International NGOs: Human Rights Violations in Healthcare Provision in Developing Countries and the Effectiveness of Current Measures”

“ABSTRACT In recent years, the number of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) working in the international arena has vastly increased, generally making a positive impact. But, as this influence has deepened, governments in the developing world and scholars have scrutinized the work and accountability of NGOs given they are mostly independent and not subjected to international law. While NGOs must adhere to the domestic laws of the places within which they work, adherence is dependent upon the strength of enforcement of those laws. Proponents argue that this independence is essential for NGOs to effectively carry out their work. However, a review of healthcare programs funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (Gates Foundation) calls into question current accountability measures of NGOs in the healthcare sector and can shine a light on weaknesses and potential areas of improvement in the current accountability regime for NGOs. * LL.M., J.D., Golden Gate University School of Law; M.A., San Francisco State University; B.S., Arizona State University. 3”

““Bud Light not ranked in top 10 beers after Mulvaney disaster ” – In a new YouGov survey, which polled a sample size of 1,468, the public approval of the beer slumped and it fell out of the top 10, while the popularity of other rival beers surged, the Mail report”

Well, given it is not beer, rather as my dear old man would have said, “gnat’s piss”, that’s no surprise.

Me? Well I am surprised that a “beer” can be “lighter” than straight Bud. Meanwhile, the original, Budweiser Budwar is stilll a fine brew.

Yes of course Miss Netherlands 2023 is actually a male-to-female transgender person. I mean, why wouldn’t they be? lol But seriously, I think the other competitors must be a bit miffed with that result.

”Rikkie Valerie Kollé was crowned Miss Nederland 2023 (Miss Universe Netherlands 2023) on Saturday, July 8 at the AFAS Theater in Leusden.

The 22-year-old Dutch-Moluccan model and actress living in Breda succeeds Ona Moody and will now prepare to represent the Netherlands at the 72nd Miss Universe (Miss Universe 2023) in El Salvador.

The new Miss Universe Netherlands made history as she became the first-ever transgender woman to win the national title.

She will be the second transgender representative at the Miss Universe pageant next to Spain’s Angela Ponce who participated in 2018.”
