The news on the U.K.’s illegal immigration problems has not really generated much buzz stateside. Eighty thousand illegals a year are expected to get by the U.K. Border plod. Over here in the U.S., by contrast, we call 80,000 border-jumping illegals “last week”. In the two-and-a-half years since Biden became President, 5.1 million folks have entered this country illegally through our southern border according to the Customs and Border Protection (CDP) records.
You might think our CDP has a lot of work to do kicking out the 5.1 million. You would be wrong. The majority of these folks (about 60%) are allowed to stay in the country. As long as you can say you are seeking asylum and are not covered by Title 42 (which means you cannot remain in the U.S. if you test positive for Covid) you can stay until presenting yourself at a court on an assigned date. The Biden Administration helpfully asks you where you want to go and transports you around the country to various destinations. Once there you recede from view as many have to wait 10 years for a court date.
The Trump administration tried to reduce crossings on the southern border with various policies such as ‘Remain in Mexico’. But the 2,000 mile border was not secure as 400,000 illegals were still apprehended in 2020, the last year of the Trump Administration.
The U.S. is the most generous country in the world for legal immigrants and legitimate refugees fleeing war zones or in mortal peril for their beliefs. An average of one million immigrants enter the country legally each year. In many years the U.S. total of legal migrants is greater than all other countries in the world put together. At any one point in time there are four million people in the legal queue waiting for entry.
It’s not enough for some.
Unfettered illegal immigration is backed by elites across the board. Business elites want ‘cheap labour’ (sub-minimum wage), while Democrat politicians want what they believe will be new Democrat voters. The business motive is underscored by businesses’ refusal to use the E-Verify system (check for Illegals before hiring) and the new voter motive is supported by the Democrats passing legislation allowing non-citizens to vote while pushing for amnesty and citizenship for all illegals in the country.
Democrats back up their views with cultural changes, such as pushing the umbrella term ‘immigration’ to cover all methods of entering the country, both legal and illegal. According to a recent Cato Institute study, 91% of Americans support ‘immigration’, while 72% believe that it is unacceptable for anyone to illegally immigrate to the U.S. Eliding the difference between the two is a key tactic of the Democratic Party. The use of the word ‘illegal’ is now frowned upon and not used in the liberal media. All are now just ‘migrants’.
The impact of unfettered immigration has been terrible on the southern states, which has caused Governors in three of them – Texas, Arizona and Florida – to do something about it. At the end of 2021, the three Republican Governors at the time hit on the idea of setting up their own ‘illegal’ delivery service, but, unlike the Feds, only transporting the illegals to ‘sanctuary’ states and cities. ‘Sanctuary’ in this context refers to the 600 or so jurisdictions in the U.S. that have declared they will not co-operate with the Federal Government in deporting illegals. All such jurisdictions, which include 11 states, are run by Democrats.
The response last year was surprising. You’d think the liberal media and Democrat politicians in the ‘sanctuary’ areas would be grateful for the opportunity to welcome the illegals showing up on their doorstep as they arrived by the busload and planeload. But they weren’t. In fact, they were incensed and began screaming about “human trafficking”. This move by the Republican governors successfully made the point that as long as the logistical and fiscal problems of several million folks arriving in the U.S. every year are kept elsewhere, then virtue-signalling in Democrat-controlled areas reigns supreme. But once the illegals turn up in your neighbourhood, the virtue-signallers gets infected with a bad case of the NIMBYs.
Democratic Mayors and Congressional representatives from the southern border region have long urged Biden to clamp down on illegals and this year the new Governor of Arizona – a Democrat – has signed off on the Illegal Delivery Service of her Republican predecessor.
This isn’t going down well with the Democratic mayor of New York City, Eric Adams. Last week he launched an attack on the Federal Administration over its failure to curb illegal immigration: “The national government has turned its back on New York City,” he said, blaming a projected $4.2 billion budget shortfall on the influx of illegals. “Every service in this city is going to be impacted by the asylum seeker crisis.” He further pointed out “thousands of people are waiting to come across the border and potentially come to New York City. It does this great city a disservice and we’re calling on the Biden-Harris administration, the United States Department of Homeland Security, they must use all tools that are available to resolve this issue.”
The amount Adams is asking for is astonishing. Fifty-six thousand illegal immigrants have passed through the city in the last few months. 4.2 billion divided by 56,000 equals $75,000 per illegal. If this formula is applied to the 5.1 million illegals that have entered the U.S. since Biden became President that would mean the country has to pay $382.5 billion for the welfare of non-citizens.
The situation is only going to get worse in the next few weeks. Title 42 disappears on May 11th as the Biden Administration seems to have finally realised that COVID-19 doesn’t pose a mortal threat to the U.S. But with it goes the quickest way of getting rid of unwanted folks. So far, much of the media have failed to cover one of the biggest crises in the country during the last two years. They did care about the story during the Trump years, but only as a stick to beat Trump with. For Biden, they have studiously avoided covering the border as voters will see the incompetence and callousness up close as the Presidential election approaches. And we can’t have that.

It’s good for you!
We used to think it a special treat to have Junior School lunch
in the playground or sports field.
term or beginning of an Indian summer while they were refurbing the dinner room/school hall.
Mind you that did tend to be towards the end of the summer
Given that many of the US authorities seem to have been ‘out to lunch’ for some time now, is this story any surprise?
And what ‘risk’ do they face from being indoors, exactly? Getting the sniffles for a few days?
And how is the ‘risk’ at lunchtime different from the rest of the school day when they are indoors? Presumably that’s down to the Magic Muzzles which do an excellent job of ‘keeping people safe’ despite the stats from every country which has mandated them failing to show any impact whatsoever?
Presumably they are bowing to pressure from the PTA demanding they be seen ‘doing something’.
If the kids have been vaccinated this is just one more admission that the jabs don’t work.
The whole point of risk assessment is to mitigate risks. But increasing the risk of pneumonia to reduce a negligible risk of Covid would appear to be a step in the wrong direction.
Covid is when there’s double diffuse pneumonia in the presence of a SARSCoV2 infection. No pneumonia means no Covid.
There’s not much deviation from the nonsense in the public sector employees, got to be the agenda.
Just watched Savij Jabbid telling us that restrictions are being enforced again, starting with additions to the red travel list. This was followed on GB News by a disgusting virologist saying that to live “with the virus” we need to all get jabbed and modify the way we socially interact with one another. People like this virologist are a clear and present danger to our lives, they’re persona non grata – they need to be shoved out of the media and ignored.
GB News needs to be told by as many people as possible that we don’t want to listen to these cretins. They need to be starved of a public platform.
I disagree. Free speech needs to be promoted. We should hear what these fearmongering control freaks have to say and also listen to the counter arguments.
Trouble is, any counter arguments are squashed!
Indeed – and the big problem is that we are only hearing the ever-more extreme and delusional rantings of the Covidian lobby, with anyone else being censored.
If the two sides had been given equal prominence we probably wouldn’t have the issues in society which we do now, as it’s very, very easy to counteract a lot of the crap (e.g. face nappies – no evidence in the stats that they make any difference, and the Maskivists have failed to explain this – and not been challenged by the MSM or most politicians to do so).
If coverage had been more balanced far more people would have a realistic view of the actual risk, and of the futility of most of the dystopian measures introduced to (allegedly) “fight Covid”.
That’s fine when there is a counter-argument – but there wasn’t and this is the problem. I haven’t seen an instance of one of these evil bastards being challenged by someone from their own field of expertise.
If GB News wants to air the views of the authoritarians, they need to balance it with a counter argument.
Agreed but more on the basis of these fools being given plenty of rope to hang themselves, the audience can condemn them for the absurdity of their claims.
During WW2 the Great British public had every reason to believe and hope that the government was ‘keeping them safe’ from a very real existential threat with piles of new rules and regulations.
But as the end approached and victory becoming ever more certain they tired of being bossed around by petty officials as illustrated by Dad’s Army in which ARP Warden Mr. Hodges was still a recognised figure of fun 3 decades later.
The notion that
The Man From The Ministry Knows Best
was a running joke throughout my 1960s childhood, we used to laugh throughout the five minute Government Information Films which preceded Saturday morning cinema matinees for kids, recognising them as patronising bollocks.
That began to fade as computers, the internet and smart phones began to infantilise the population; possibly starting as early as mass TV consumption emerging with the entire nation sharing one or perhaps two sources of information night after night.
To give balance we should have nothing but 18 months listening to the people arguing that there needs to be no more restrictions as we have 18 months of listening to none stop doom and gloom mongers
This is the issue when you have made a virus with an IFR of.2 the psychological equivalent of Ebola. Common sense dies and your fear causes you more problems than the original problem. It’s why you can mandate vaccines whose only longterm value is to you and treat kids as plague monsters instead of otherwise healthy humans.
We truly have entered the Age of the Endarkenment.
And these are probably the same people who call themselves “Progressives”.
Nu strain incoming!
I wonder how it interacts with people who have had previous infections and those with multiple jabs from multiple brands
I expect it will be
a) a nothingburger
b) a catstrophe for everyone
c) a catastrophe for pfizer recipients
maybe we should lockdown until we no more (/sarc)
And if you homeschool your child, they consider you a far-right extremist/terrorism threat.
I just don’t know how the covidians and everybody else can continue to co-exist.
Quite right too. It’s important at this late stage in the pandemic for the authorities to be working hard to come up with even more idiotic ideas on how to teach this virus how to behave. It’s not easy, because most of the obviously stupid ideas have already been taken.
I remember as a “home dinners” primary school child, when it was raining, snowing whatever, we were not allowed back into the school at all during lunch break, and we had to wait freezing until called back in (woebetide anyone sneaking in!) The school dinners lot were able to stay in. Also, at secondary school when I had to have school dinners, and the cooks were out on strike, we had to bring a packed lunch. Those entitled to free school meals, still got a hot meal! This craziness has been going far longer than we think.
That’ll toughen them up.
Lord knows these younger generations need it.
“I had six of the best every day. Didn’t do me any harm.”
Yeah, I’d draw the line at corporal punishment.
Who had this guy in the daily sweep stake?

no doubt to be explained away as just another coincidence.
edit: and there it is in the comment below:
Are the children told not to touch the doorhandle or rails when they troop back inside?
Meanwhile in Britain: regime radio (R4) was all over the place this morning in respect of “Nu”. First, the variant could definitely evade the vaccines. Then, well it might, that’s all, so keep on taking them.
Interesting that the name “Gauteng” is used in the British media for the part of South Africa where Nu is supposed to be rife. This is the geographically small region containing the cities of Johannesburg (population ~10m) and Pretoria (~3m).
And of course the headteacher, the other teachers and admin staff will all be outside in the rain for their lunch as well, along with Yolo County Public Health Officer, Dr. Sisson……
Scientists reject pundits’ vaccine ‘theory’ after three footballers collapse in a weekWigan’s Charlie Wyke hospitalised while Sheriff’s Adama Traore went down clutching chest and Sheffield United’s John Fleck fell ill in games
Leading scientists have rejected speculation that the Covid vaccine is linked with recent on-field collapses of three footballers, as sporting pundits came under attack for fuelling hesitancy of the jab.
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2021/11/25/wigan-striker-charlie-wyke-becomes-third-footballer-collapse/
End of story then – if Leading Scientists say that then it must be true – as we know, they are always 100% accurate and never spout on-message bollox…
Has anyone ever been given a good reason from the school as to why kids in the UK go in their kit on PE days due to covvieblx? I can’t get my head round it.
Kids will get cold and possibly the flu. Add in low nutritional food and Great Maunder Minimum.
On a separate not, these kids are running around with a mask on. Not great when you need more oxygen for that. This may stop them exercising to keep fit (and warm). Also note, the girl is eating grains.
6uild 6ack 6etter in full force in NY day care.
Criminally insane. Psychopaths.
Obviously repeating myself:
None of this has anything to do with a virus.
It’s not about what they say it’s about!
It gets more ridiculous by the day. Enjoy the laugh because these people are hilarious. It’s just a pity that the poor kids end up suffering at the hands of these clowns.
Looking like the $100 bribe from the mayor is to buy warm clothes not sweets.
Breaking….New York mayor proposes closing schools and sending all children to work houses…
I am for this! Provided, of course, that all teachers, the principal, vice-principal(s), support staff, janitors, etc. are required to eat/smoke/coffee break outside in a corner of the schoolyard away from the vulnerable
students. They must provide photos and/or a live video feed
of their outdoor break time for verification purposes. The staff break-room door will be padlocked until further notice.
Since when is get cold and wet a way to stay healthy in winter?
Just to confirm, both primary and secondary schools in our town have all kids eating outside at lunchtime….and their classes have all doors and windows open for ventilation. Plus…at the primary…they have had the heating off, due to “issues”…saves them money I suppose.
“we believe the health risk to students is greater…..”
You believe? So what? Any evidence or, perhaps, a bit of common sense.
