The Telegraph’s Lockdown Files have fizzled out. I fear they’ve had less impact than lockdown sceptics hoped. They did have some impact, including coverage by the BBC, though other media that advocated the harshest restrictions did their best to ignore the leak, or to attack Ms. Oakeshott personally. Now we’re back to trivia: Lineker, Partygate, and a dredge through the lower sludge of the Met, which ignores their main deficiency: an inability to catch burglars.
The Files reveal Matt Hancock as arrogant, vain and ignorant. He lacks curiosity. He entangles himself in his own spin, unable to reduce quarantine when he’s told he can do so. He ‘deploys’ data on the Alpha variant to increase fear, not owing to its medical impact. He is drunk on power, mocking those paying to be imprisoned in Heathrow’s Premier Inn. His supposed boss – Boris – emerges marginally better. Boris half-knows that it is all mad. He occasionally expresses alternative views, but he is too feeble, cowardly and innumerate to seize control. Instead, he ignores the rules… and pays the price.
So, here we are… £400 billion squandered; two years stolen; trust in government and science shattered; the Brexit Government’s majority wasted; awash with folk who have lost the habit of work.
Back, though, to the Files. What bugs me is what hasn’t emerged.
First, two members of the ‘Quad’ – who governed without proper scrutiny – remain shadowy. Rishi was the new boy and, perhaps, the least influential. His concerns about collateral damage do emerge, supporting what he later said to the Spectator’s Fraser Nelson. He’s rubbished for ‘Eat Out to Help Out’, which I recall with a certain fondness for subsidising my dinners as I walked the coast ‘path’ from Aberdeen to Lossiemouth. Later, in December 2021, Rishi did stop a fourth lockdown, and we should be grateful for that. What, though, of the fourth man: Gove? Like a drug dealer with a burner phone, he seems too canny to have added much to the electronic slug trail. He was a supporter of lockdowns married to a Daily Mail columnist (Sarah Vine) who was sceptical, particularly of school closures, but also more generally. He assuredly was exposed to contrary views across, at least the breakfast table. What was his thinking? The published messages reveal little, apart from occasional proclamations of love for each other. (One possibility is that Hancock and Gove were working in such lockstep that they were constantly talking to each other on the phone and therefore had no need to communicate via WhatsApp.)
More striking than personalities, though, is the lack of exploration of alternative policies, and the dramatic pivot on who should be vaccinated. Does the trove have nothing to say? Does the Telegraph deem these aspects unimportant? Are critical items being held back?
The first lockdown, or at least the first month of it, can be forgiven. There was much uncertainty, and the NHS was ill-prepared. A pause was defensible. Yet it was soon clear that the first COVID wave was subsiding in lockdown-free Sweden as much as in the U.K. and in countries with stricter regimes, such as France (see below).
This should have given pause, as it did for DeSantis in Florida. Yet it didn’t. Rather than asking which restrictions could be lifted without harm, Hancock’s response was, “I am sick of the fucking Sweden argument. Supply three or four bullet(s) of [sic.] why Sweden is wrong.” Yet Sweden was doing broadly what had been U.K. pandemic policy until the panic of March 2020. Did this not occur to Hancock? Did no one tell him?
When Boris urged reopening in the June of 2020, Hancock pushed back, saying that the public wasn’t ready. They weren’t ready, needless to say, because they’d been exposed to three months of industrial-strength propaganda, establishing a feedback loop of fear.
The central policy adopted after the first lockdown, through the summer of 2020, was building Test and Trace, which consumed over £30bn and delivered little. There’s not much revealed in the published Lockdown Files on the hopes for this system, the travails of its development, or its failure, although the Parliamentary Accounts Committee was scathing in March 2021, months before Hancock’s terminal grope.
Did their damnation prompt no discussion?
I believe the Quad and their advisers hoped to emulate South Korea and Taiwan, which were credited with using T&T to suppress Covid for many months and largely avoided lockdowns. That’s what Jeremy Hunt – Chairman of the Health Select Committee and another ‘man of the shadows’ – wanted in 2020. Yet there’s no recognition that: (i) Covid had disseminated far more widely in its first wave in the U.K. than in East Asia, (ii) that the U.K. population is more heterogenous and less compliant nor (iii) that South Korea and Taiwan took monitoring to levels that would be unacceptable here.
A May 2020 outbreak linked to gay bars in Seoul’s Itaewon district illustrates the last point. Some 41,620 tests were done on nightclub visitors and their contacts to identify 246 cases – including fifth- and sixth- step infections. To achieve this, the Korean CDC “used multiple forms of advanced information technology, including location data from mobile devices, credit card payment history, geographic positioning service data, drug utilisation review, public transportation transit pass records, and closed-circuit television footage”.
All this was reported in October 2020. So, where in the Lockdown Files is discussion of the disparity between what (however unacceptable) would be needed to make Test and Trace work and what was being built at such expense? The whole T&T insanity continued long after the autumn 2020 explosion of cases demonstrated its failure. Its sole achievement, and an unhelpful one, was the pingdemic of summer 2021.
The lack of reflection on Sweden’s experience (which included entirely eschewing a T&T system) is again evident at the start of the second lockdown in Nov 2020. This was initiated on out-of-date modelling, attacked as scaremongering by many of us at the time. By then the Government had had the summer to reflect and alternative approaches were being discussed. Boris met Carl Heneghan and Sunetra Gupta, to Hancock’s chagrin. The Great Barrington Declaration had been published, urging a traditional pandemic response with focused protection of the most vulnerable.
The published Files contain no mention of the GBD, though its launch was well-covered in the media, save for occasional disparaging references to some of the original signatories, such as Sunetra Gupta. Is there really so little in that tonnage of unpublished messages? Did the U.K. contribute to its suppression, orchestrated by Fauci et al.?
As one of the original GBD signatories, I’d like to know.
Last, there’s that pivot in vaccination policy.
Kate Bingham spelt out the original, reasonable, plan in October 2020: “There’s going to be no vaccination of people under 18. It’s an adult-only vaccine, for people over 50…” In January 2021, Hancock told the Spectator he’d “cry freedom” once the vulnerable were vaccinated.
Yet vaccination expanded to be universal, with ‘Freedom Day’ delayed another six months.
Why?
Before she released Hancock’s WhatsApp messages, Isabel Oakeshott wrote in the Spectator:
I believe multiple driving forces combined almost accidentally to create a policy which was never subjected to rigorous cost-benefit analysis. Operating in classic Whitehall-style silos, key individuals and agencies – the JCVI, SAGE, the MHRA – did their particular jobs, advising on narrow and very specific safety and regulatory issues. At no point did they all come together, along with ministers and, crucially, medical and scientific experts with differing views on the merits of whole-population vaccination, for a serious debate about whether such an approach was desirable or wise.
Do the WhatsApp messages tell us nothing more? Who decided that these vaccines should be used universally, and not just for those at significant risk?
This isn’t cost-benefit. The vaccines had emergency registration. They were developed hurriedly, precluding normal assessment of long-term efficacy and safety. They use novel technology. They were directed against a disease with around 0.25% mortality. Back in 2020, Chris Whitty had asserted that there was no justification for fast-tracking vaccines against a virus with 1% mortality. The mRNA vaccines are the most novel and came to be the most used. They used chemically-modified mRNA that lingers in the body and lipid nanoparticles that can give a wide tissue distribution (perhaps contingent on whether a blood vessel is nicked).
While I continue to believe that primary vaccination has merit in high-risk groups, there was every reason for caution. Such caution is applied to other medicines, sometimes to a ludicrous degree. I can no longer buy Marzine sea-sickness pills – which I used from childhood – because some genius discovered that they can be used to prolong the effects of heroin, meaning that prospective buyers are suspected of being addicts. Night Nurse has just been withdrawn owing to incredibly rare anaphylaxis.
Yet ever-younger, zero-risk age cohorts were vaccinated, with growing coercion.
This was despite the emergence of safety signals. On April 14th 2021, Denmark suspended use of the AstraZeneca product owing to concerns about blood clots. Does the WhatsApp trove tell nothing on Hancock et al.’s reaction? Did it stir no concern? Was Denmark’s action construed as a plot against a U.K. product? Or just acceptable collateral damage, since vaccination served the ‘Greater Good’?
I believe that an undeclared ‘zero-Covid’ policy was adopted in Spring 2021, aiming to squeeze the virus out of circulation by vaccination, and that this failed because vaccine-mediated protection is brief, and because the virus mutated.
Do the WhatsApp message confirm or refute my suspicion?
Much of the vaccine’s failure came after Hancock’s fall, with the spread of Omicron late in 2021. But the first straws were in the wind back in the spring, with extensive post-vaccine infections reported among Chicago nurses in April 2021. Was no attention paid? Weren’t the vaccines’ limitations considered by June 16th, 2021 when mandate for U.K. care home staff was announced?
No doubt readers will add to this list of omissions. I’ll watch the comments. But, most importantly, I hope that those with access to the messages themselves will read this and respond.
These are questions that need to be answered.

I don’t believe for one minute that the WattsApp messages didn’t contain far more revelatory material than the tittle-tattle we were fed.
I suspect the Gates-funded DT was very careful in selecting the conversations it published. It’s not going to destroy the CON Party and severely damage the British Establishment, is it!
Handcock was outed as the fall-guy, since his political career is already over …. and the conclusion we are all supposed to reach is that future pandemic policy should not be decided by vain, innumerate, unscientific Ministers with one eye on their career at all times.
Instead it should be decided by oh-so-wise scientific experts at the WHO …… people who most definitely aren’t in the pockets of Big Pharma and controlled by Bill Gates.

What is never mentioned in any of the articles in the Telegraph is the global nature of the assault on citizens basic rights. The U.K. was not an aberration because it had the clown Hancock but in lockstep with other nations. This was made very clear by the use of language across the English speaking countries. Also the fact that we had many leaders banging their lecterns as they repeated the mantra, build, back, better.
Also, how come no mention of Savid Javid in all of this? Hancock’s successor who was so determined to push the vax mandate on NHS staff until he was publicly confronted by a courageous consultant while on a televised walk about at a hospital?
I never expected these “files” to change many minds. People are so invested in this that I don’t think they will ever believe the whole thing was folly and evil. Anyway, most of it was stuff we already knew – not just us sceptics, but everyone. The only two slightly smoking guns are the “when are we going to deploy the variant” and the comments from Whitty and Vallance about fast vaccines not being an option because they could not be deemed safe enough in the time for such a mild disease. None of my normie friends have picked up on those things. Apart from a few Telegraph journalists there’s no-one in the mainstream banging on about this, and of course no political party in parliament has taken this up because they are all guilty as hell.
What’s missing is why the u-turn, and what do they know about the origins (which I suspect are related topics).
The WhatsApp messages are, in part, post hoc fiction written by the spooks. They are not contemporaneous clearly. They rewrite/invent in particular the probity and valiant attempts of Vallance/Whitty to pull back on the warp speed vaccines. It didn’t happen. I call BS. It’s a pro-WHO retrofit to deceive the eager Hugh Trevor-Ropers who frankly will swallow anything chucked at them. Quite clever but fails the whiff test completely.
I must confess when these messages first appeared I had a nagging sense of doubt, fiction indeed. With 100,000 messages I tried to convince myself this was indeed story telling but surely not.

Dr David Livermore incorrectly states in this article that the second lockdown was in November 2021. I hope he will correct this – it was of course in November 2020. Apart from that… yes, the million dollar question is just why the supposed ‘vaccines’ were given to all (the pivot) – surely part of a global, corrupt move… and why someone like MP Andrew Bridgen is the only man standing up in parliament speaking the truth, with nobody willing to listen or daring to support him, when his facts are entirely accurate.
Sir Christopher Chope is also honourable in speaking up against the bioweapon injections. One Right Honourable MP amongst a den of Dishonourable scum failing to represent the constituents whom they are supposedly there to serve.
My most recent missive to my MP basically told him Parliament and in particular the House of Commons is not fit for purpose. Amazingly I haven’t received a reply.
Initially it was said that revelations from these WhatsApp messages would go on for months, but they all stopped pretty quickly. Whether stopped by Government pressure or because no one’s interested it’s impossible to know. I suspect there’s a lot more that could come out.
The reason nothing much cuts through with the public is that the vast majority believed in 2020 & believed now that lockdowns saved 500,000 lives & that in 2021 vaccines saved 500,000 lives. Consequently no price in terms of loss liberty, tax rises, dreadful people running the country etc is too high to pay.
Unless & until these shibboleths are shown to be false no one much will care.

I consider it inconceivable that Ms Oakshott has not got copies (multiple) of all that she handed over. To not hold copies would be not just reckless but dangerous.
There is an almost throw-away line in this piece saying that blood clotting effects of the vaccine might be contingent on nicking a blood vessel.
I suspect that all the testing of the vaccines was done using injections into muscle tissue, and no doubt the researchers were using standard practice of checking to see they had not injected into the blood stream before continuing the injection.
This practice, iirc, was specifically ruled out during mass vaccinations for whatever reason, allowing for the possibility of the vaccine directly entering the bloodstream and making its way to major organs, including the heart.
This seems to have been a massive oversight, and one where risk increases in direct proportion to the number of vaccinations taking place, hence the increasing adverse reaction profile as boosters are rolled out.
I think the term is “aspiration” – John Campbell was talking about this a lot.
Although I’d been sceptical and reading Lockdown sceptics from early on, it was during one of the press conferences after vaccination had started that I had my real “eureka” moment. One slide showed that the most vulnerable had been vaccinated but that we now had to continue with vaccination of the less vulnerable in order to protect the more vulnerable (who had already been vaccinated). None of the following press questions were of the “can we just go back to slide 5, it doesn’t seem to make sense?” type, instead they’d been prepared in advance with no concern for what had been presented.
It was then that my scepticism became full-blown rage at what was looking more like a control exercise than anything to do with public health.
Quite agree. I mean, when in history was pressure put on non-elderly, low-risk cohorts of the population to get a flu jab in order to protect the higher risk, already jabbed folk from catching flu? A total nonsense. They took everything that was known for many years about immunology and turned it on its head and the majority got sucked in to the BS, most shamefully the medical profession. The very people who Joe Public relies on to have extensive knowledge of how the human body works were as dim-witted as everybody else and taken in completely by it all. Complete disgrace, the lack of push-back from the medical establishment.
The main aim above all else was get that jab into peoples arms, and the hoax of a ‘plandemic’ was the scenario which enabled it. They’d been planning it for decades. After researching the nano-tech that went into some of these injections, the reasons for doing it become obvious.
This was a heinous assault on the populations of the world led by the US Dept of Defence and big pharma. The technology is mind blowing, to a layperson, unbelievable, but its out there. Its about remote control of human beings using nano-tech and micro waves. There are lots of other things in play of course, but for this article I’ll stick to the topic.
I suspect we’re far from out of the woods yet. We’re up against very wealthy, organised psychopaths with a plan, and who intend to carry out that plan come what may. That is my firm belief, and I’ve read or seen nothing over the past couple of years to dissuade me from my thinking.
And the endgame of the plan is depopulation and enslavement for the survivors.

A fine piece of writing by Dr Livermore, but marred by 2 cliche canards.
Firstly, he repeats the excuse for lockdown1 that we didn’t know what we were up against in March 2020, better safe than sorry, blah, blah. This is totally wrong. In mid-march 2020 the UK government knew precisely what it was up against, and had officially downgraded the covid threat to the level of seasonal flu.
Whitty had declared that most people would recover from covid without knowing they had been ill.
His sensible policy at that time of herd immunity was only reversed after a BBC scare campaign that a terrible black-death novel virus was rampaging through northern Italy. The BBC ran pictures of stacked up rows of coffins knowing the pictures originated from a marine disaster off Lampedusa in the southern med from several years before. The UK teaching unions then voted to strike, saying HMG was not taking covid seriously. Only then was Ferguson’s model forecast wheeled out as cover for an action that BoJo&Co were strong-armed into taking by the BBC and the public-sector unions.
The BBC is a national enemy not a national broadcaster. It is time to do away with it. It is also time to do away with legal immunity from action for inducing breach of contract of public sector union bosses.
Secondly, Dr Livermore reports the covid case-fatality-rate at 0.2%. This may be the overall figure, but it ignores the age-and-co-morbidity segmentation of risk, and is therefore badly misleading. The case fatality rate for children is nil, nought point nought recurring, however you prefer zero to be expressed.
There are no known cases globally of persons aged under 18 succumbing to covid who were not already critically ill.
The case fatality rate for otherwise fit and well people aged under 65 has been 0.01% (again, Prof Ioannidis’s figure).
All covid risk was concentrated in the extreme age frail and critically co-morbid. The average age of covid death has been 83. Half of all covid deaths worldwide have been in care homes, where the case fatality rate for morbidly obese diabetic 85-year-olds was 25%.
And how many of those deaths in care homes were due to the ‘healthcare’ policy of protocol NG163 in the UK or a similar cocktail elsewhere all dressed up as a ‘covid’ death to fuel the fires of fear & ever higher death numbers?
I would say at least half in Spring-20, the rest caused by simple desertion. In Lombardy, the prototype covid panic, much of the Eastern European care-home workforce upped and went home in mid Mar-20, leaving care homes depleted of staff. A massive bulk pre-order of midazolam from Germany had been put in shortly before. The covid death-surges were then limited to 2 Lombardy towns, Codogno and Bergamo. Everywhere else in Lombardy, and Italy, was curiously exempt. What took place was a managed exercise of medical murder for the purpose of creating a shock-horror global news event. The BBC played a fully eyes-opened part in this. It is even doubtful that a novel pathogen was in circulation at all, more likely that all the deaths were caused by midazolam, aggressive intubation and desertion.
The implementation of protocols NG191 & NG163 is still ongoing in the UK only this time with revised guidance for which frailty score the protocol is to be used. It originally was used when a patient had a frailty score of 9 or higher ie absolutely at death’s door. The frailty score has been reduced to a 5 or 6 (forget which now) but basically this includes an elderly person who has one or more comorbidities like diabetes or a cardiac condition like angina & who needs some help with things like shopping or heavy housework. Now if that isn’t state sanctioned murder I don’t know what is!

It’s amazing how lethal a cocktail of two drugs given at dosages 5 times the maximum recommended dose which are known when administered together to enhance the negative effects of those drugs are to elderly folk.

You are assigning far too much significance to the teaching unions and even the BBC although admittedly the BBC had a central role in pushing the fear.
The BBC had been bought and handed their script before the Scamdemic kicked off.
The teaching unions, or rather their bosses were also probably bought off before the Scamdemic started but were only mobilised when it became clear that the initial fear element was not sufficient.
Bozo and co were not “strong-armed” by the unions or the BBC whatsoever. Bozo was given his orders by the Davos Deviants and the BBC and the unions were used simply to promote the story and the fear.
In fact all current strike actions are being pushed by union bosses not because they believe their claims are legitimate but because strikes further the chaos agenda. Populations must be kept on edge in order to give the next major disruptive action the best chances of success be it Billy’s new virus, Western financial collapse or an alien attack.
Check out Dr Ben Irvine’s Long-Read study (Lockdown Sceptics, 06-Jan-22) of the sequence of critical events leading to Lockdown1. Up to the 10th March 2020 the government was pursuing a sensible herd immunity policy. On that day, medical GMB members, spooked by the BBC’s lying and lurid reports from Lombardy, threatened mutiny, citing inadequate PPE for NHS workers, saying government was ignoring the coronavirus threat. Other unions waded in. The RMT threatened a rail strike, UCU threatened university closures. The NEU waved the threat of national withdrawal of labour in schools. Faced with a multiple mutiny of public-sector unions, Boris and Co began spinning and seeking for pretexts on which to abandon herd immunity. At the 16-Mar-20 press conference, Ferguson’s preposterous forecasts were wheeled out, perhaps with government-requested spicing – ‘schools may need to close’. On 18-Mar-20, Boris caved in to NEU strike threats by agreeing schools would close. This was the decisive step. Parents cannot go to work if their kids are off school. On 20-Mar-20, the whole economy went into lockdown. On 04-Jan-21 the same thing happened again. The NEU held a zoom meeting with 400,000 of its members at which the decision was taken not to return to work after the Christmas holidays. The government caved in again and declared lockdown 3, which lasted 6 months. The entire panics, both times, had been BBC and NEU-driven, and totally unnecessary.
How was it that Matt Hancock was able to attend the Cheltenham festival post these revelations and not be attacked by at least one person? The brazen neck of the man is unbelievable, there is no shame only entitled, smug arrogance, it is very apparant that Matt Hancock knows the British public well, that he as a politician can do anything to the majority and they will just accept it.
My belief is that the Whatsapp files were a planned leak, no one is that stupid as to handover thousands of messages to a journalist, the plan being that Matt would be the scapegoat, the British would not be too upset because they had 2 years off work, and Matty would get a nice bung from Gates, or the WEF or something like that.
Rather like the Boris Johnson piece of theatre being played out at present, the one most important question has not and I know will not be asked. The question is why did the people at the Johnson parties have nothing to fear? they were not following the rules, masking, distancing, no more than x amount in one space, and yet they knew that there was no reason to do this because there was nothing to fear, meanwhile the rest of us were being terrorised, locked up, masked up, tested, criminalised because the virus was supposedly so deadly. There seems instead to be a collective amnesia with a very concerning attitude from people that they’ll just roll over and accept the next round of abuse of their rights and freedoms which we know is on the cards. An excellent article, but my response to the request for comments was met with where do you start. We know the ones with a face and name, JVCI, SAGE, MHRA, Hancock etc but never the Civil Servants. For many, I think the utter disbelief in the decisions being made with frail and sometimes twisted data and is is met with a stunned silence and astonishment. The realisation that there has been no debate, no cognitive data review, formal process analysis, just an underlying narrative been driven by a yet unknown agenda.
This is not going to quell conspiracy theories, why else would you ignore the premises of a syllogism and forward a single premise. This view can be attributed to most if not all of the net zero, carbon reduction drives as well. As to confirm that there probably is an underlining insidious hidden agenda, the eruption of the disinformation industry only promotes this notion, why else would it be there?
The actions and promotions of governments and their agencies over recent years need to be questioned as events have shown. I have found nothing to suggest that vaccines have been successful, both by publication and my own experience. In a recent NHS pro op’ interview it was advised that you should NOT have the vaccine at least six weeks prior to the op’; curious comment don’t you think?

Why was a ‘vaccine solution’ proposed against SARS-CoV-2/Covid-19, given it was acknowledged from the beginning that Covid-19 wasn’t a serious threat for most people?

In my BMJ rapid response published in March 2020 I said: “Is the focus on future fast-tracked vaccine products blocking full consideration of the opportunity for natural herd immunity? Terrific article David. Hunt as chair of the Commons Health Committee was in a unique position to facilitate rationale debate on government policy in a calm and reflective forum. He could have brought real pressure to bear on government to, for example, produce a cost benefit analysis. He failed utterly inviting none of the GBD authors to give evidence but Devi Sridhar multiple times.
The big questions that weren’t answered were in all the material that was edited out about enforced jabs, avoiding consent, disallowing treatments, who needed to be cancelled, bribes to the medical profession and money making rackets – and who would be getting a gong

All excellent questions. Two more:
1) why the introduction of masks into classrooms in March ‘21, when schools returned? The previous DfE guidance (Jan ‘21) had advised against. By March, cases were much lower and children were being tested twice a week.
2) why did we go into lockdown in the first place? Where was the pressure coming from? It can’t simply be that ‘it was a novel virus and we didn’t know enough at the time’, if Sweden managed to avoid it. Lockdown 1 seemed like a massive U-turn. I’d love to see the conversations surrounding this decision.
The first lockdown was NOT forgiveable. To force people to stay home and not work and not earn a living, even for a few weeks, is pure evil. To force human beings to isolate from one another is also evil. Anyone with any common sense can see the bad effect this will have on people’s lives and the economy and the health and well-being of all.
And then there was the promotion of the lies – that instead of selflessly looking after the sick you must stay away from them because 1. you could infect them without knowing it because you could have it and not know it and 2. we need to prevent people from getting it (when we are designed to get illnesses then recover – because of our incredible immune systems) and 3. it is possible to control it by everyone isolating.
Pandemic response planning was first organized in 2017. A simulation was held in Berlin and named MARS 2017 and was attended by health officials from all G20 countries and was lead by Bill Gates and other top bioweapons scientists. The response planned for was for a terrorist release of a virus based bioweapon and the plann8ng was for drac9nian actions such as l9ckdowns and country isolation much like that which took place for the flu like coronavirus. This was followed in 2017 with SPARS 2017 at John Hopkins Center, the global biosecurity command center which simulated a coronavirus pandem8c. This is supposedly preparation in defense of a real bioweapon release. It is no wonder that all these countries reacted in the same way if 8ndeed covid 2019 was a gain of function enhanced bioweapon accidently or otherwise released. Health officials have been planning such a response for several years.
