Carney Wins Canadian Election as Poilievre Projected to Lose Seat Despite Highest Conservative Vote Since 1988 in Result Blamed on Trump

by Will Jones
29 April 2025 11:13 AM

Mark Carney’s Liberals have won the Canadian election and a fourth term in Government as Pierre Poilievre is projected to lose his seat despite scoring the highest Conservative vote since 1988 in a result blamed on Trump. The Telegraph has more.

Donald Trump will not “break” Canada, Mark Carney promised during his election victory speech in Ottawa last night.

The Liberal leader secured a comeback victory for the party, which had been set for an electoral wipeout under Justin Trudeau.

Speaking to supporters, Mr Carney, the former governor of the Bank of England, said Mr Trump’s repeated description of Canada as the 51st state was not an “idle threat”.

“President Trump is trying to break us so that America can own us, that will never ever happen,” he said.

It remains unclear whether the Liberal Party has won enough seats to form a majority, with counting ongoing.

Pierre Poilievre, the defeated Conservative leader, said “hard lessons” had been learnt. He could still lose his seat in Carleton, Ottawa.

Worse for Poilievre, he has lost his seat in Carleton, Ontario, according to projections.

CBC News projected a 19-point surge for the Liberal Party’s candidate in Carleton, a seat Mr Poilievre had held since 2004.

It caps off a disastrous night for Canada’s Conservative party, which lost the election to Mark Carney’s Liberal Party.

Mr Poilievre’s party had been set to oust the Liberal Party when it was led by Justin Trudeau.

But the Liberals surged in the polls once Mr Trudeau resigned and Donald Trump returned to the White House.

The US President’s trade war upended the global economy and changed the dynamic of the Canadian election.

The Conservative leader struggled to shake the image of being tied to the MAGA movement after running a “Canada First” campaign.

Carney is currently just short of a majority, though counting continues.

The Conservatives scored their highest vote share since 1988 but the collapse in the NDP’s vote boosted the Liberals and left them in the lead.

How foolish are Canadian voters, asks Michael Taube.

They have just kept a politically inexperienced Prime Minister and largely discredited Liberal minority Government in power because of their frustration with a US President.

That, in a nutshell, is what happened in Monday’s election in the Great White North. …

The economist [Carney] had never run for office. He had no idea how to run a political party on a day-to-day basis – and still doesn’t. His arrogant behaviour and massive ego were often on full display as he criss-crossed my country during the campaign. He called himself a political “outsider” to Jon Stewart, the American talk show host, when he was really an insider who had advised Trudeau for several years.

He barely proposed any original ideas during the campaign, preferring to maintain Trudeau-era policies and steal proposals from the Conservatives. His long-standing support for far-Left policies such as Net Zero climate solutions and a fixation on wealth inequality never came to the forefront during this campaign, for obvious reasons. …

Voters decided to back Carney as the best choice to take on Trump and defend Canada’s sovereignty and security. In spite of the fact that there’s absolutely no evidence that he could do anything to help or improve this situation. They even gave the Liberals a pass on a near-decade of disastrous government so that a Left-wing economist could be in charge of an already-weakened economy. That’s a recipe for disaster.

Oh, Canada. You’ve really messed up now.

Yes, indeed.
Canadians decided to vote for a guy who is a textbook example of the global elite, from the Davos mafia, member of the Klaus Schwab “you will own nothing and you will be very happy” fan club.
They did this of their own accord.
They will just have to put up with the consequences.

Funnily enough, I thought of you as I was writing that – traitor!
I still advocate democracy as the least worst form of ordering society, but I’m starting to think a basic public policy cause and effect intelligence test may be needed to weed out the morons.
70 years of socialist dumbing down education and stuffing the civil service with fellow travellers has left you and me in what feels like a very small minority.

You would think they had learned after Adolf Trudeau that one fascist was enough but then elect another. Normal people must hope it remains a minority government.

Adolf Castro and the Liberal Fascists destroyed the country over 10 years from Rona to Immigation to burning down Churches, ClimateCon etc etc.

So of course the idiots reward them with another term….a 1 party state.

Canada = Retardia.

I wonder what role Carntard’s tranny son will play. Minister for the Mentally Ill?

Well, I guess at least it wasn’t the Green Party that won the election.
Apart from, not much to celebrate.

My first comment was written as much in despair as anything. There are STILL plenty of useful idiots round our way happy to advertise for the Labour Party and the Green Party for the council elections.
Though maybe not as many as in previous years.
One or two for Reform.
And no sighting of any for the Conservative Party.

Sadly, you are right.
We have to accept, hard as it is, that we people on this forum are the minority.
The majority of the population support the mainstream political parties, no matter how bad, incompetent, damaging they are.
Just like there was no mainstream opposition to the Covid vaccination policies and the accompanying clampdown on human rights.
This is just the way it is.

So Canadians have given globalist Carney the job of defending Canada’s sovereignty. Go figure. This just proves that most of the people are sheep. Their opinions are still shepherded by MSM. Sadly this was all too predictable, Trump did Poilievre no favours at all. On balance I like DJT, but if he cared one bit about conservatism outside the US he would have kept the 51st state nonsense to himself. Mark Carney is now a self inflicted wound.

I think Donald is OK with it as it will be easier to deal with a retard such as Carney over Poilievre.

Maybe Carney will be consistent in his views on the EU and suggest Canada joins.

I am sure DJT caused this and ought to regret it. The only way he can make it up to the Canadians is to be more polite while totally screwing the Canadian Federal government.

Who knows, the western provinces might petition for independence.

It woz Trump wot dun it.

I thought Canadians insist they are independent and have minds of their own and don’t care what their southern neighbours think.

Evidently not… cut nose off to spite face… take that Trump!

Strangely, on the very same day that Globalist Carney was elected to lead Canada down the Globalist Path, there was disturbing news of another Canadian, who provides yet another example of “Two-Tier Justice in the UK”.

Ice hockey star to escape manslaughter charges over opponent’s horror | UK | News | Express.co.uk

Watch the 14-second video below for yourselves to see the Ethnic African Canadian Matt Petgrave raise the blade of his ice skate in a vicious kung-fu kick at the throat of Ethnic European American Adam Johnson, and then pretend it was an “accident”.

This is yet another case where the police spend months and even years painstakingly gathering evidence, only to have it all thrown out on the whim of the Crown Prosecution Service.

And then everyone wrongly blames the police for the miscarriage of justice.
Ice hockey experts, and Adam Johnson’s own relatives, say that even a neck guard would not have saved his life from the deliberate force of the martial arts kick that severed not only his neck artery but also his windpipe, nearly decapitating him.

May God rest his soul, and comfort his family and fiancee.

If Canada joined the US as a state it would be like adding another California. The Republican party would never win the Presidency again. I doubt Trump thought of that.

Now, let Alberta and Saskatchewan join, with east BC and the Yukon as a land bridge to Alaska. That makes more sense. Could add west BC to Washington state, and have east Washington join Idaho (for more electors).

Good idea. And also send them the entire Somali Muslim population of Minnesota, including Ilhan Omar, who was elected to the US Congress, despite marrying her own Somali brother as her second husband in order to get him into the US. Why she was not booted out of office for Immigration Fraud & Incest is a mystery, and just shows the power of “The Muslim Vote”.

Ilhan Omar DID marry her brother, reveals Somali community leader | Daily Mail Online

And also send them Mohammed Noor, who murdered kindhearted Australian lady Justine Damond only a few weeks before she was to marry her American fiance. Mohammed was later let off by a Two-Tier Judge, after serving only 3 years in prison.

My cousin from Canada visited and she had a severe bout of TDS…. The anti-American sentiment was palpable. According to her the Canadians were fuming about the tariffs.
It got so heated I had to tell her that every time she mentioned Trump she had to put a fiver in the swear bowl. She did stop, but only to start the minute she left, so we had to deport her back to Canada😎.

Singh, who is the leader of the socialist NDP party and a young WEF leader told his members to vote Liberal so as not to split the left wing vote. He lost his seat and the NDP party lost official party status. Elizabeth May of the tiny Green Party removed over 100 candidates so not to split the left vote. The Liberal Party funded main stream media headquarters in Southern Ontario, where over 50% of the population live was in full attack mode. Carney would save them from Trump, Poilievre was Trump. Their barrage of bias was unrelenting. Nevertheless the conservatives received an historic 41% of the popular vote the largest by any party ever since 1988. The Liberal Party has been seized by the WEF and were going to be decimated until the bull Trump started his chaotic aggression. Western Canada is totally conservative and separation from the established power base in Ontario is high on the agenda. It contains the world’s third largest reserves of oil and gas. It makes you wonder if this was essentially Trump’s objective. Alberta will become easy pickings for the US and Trump.
