The Persecution of Nigeria’s Christians by Muslims is Medieval in its Horror

by Will Jones
19 April 2025 3:00 PM

The persecution of Nigeria’s Christians by Islamising Muslims is medieval in its horror, says Tom Goodenough in the Spectator. “Villages are surrounded in the dead of night by bandits who rape and kill the inhabitants. No one is spared: women and children are among those butchered.” Here’s an excerpt.

The Makurdi Diocese, in Nigeria’s Middle Belt Benue state, has been hit badly by this savage violence. In 2024, 549 locals in this diocese alone were murdered and dozens more kidnapped. Over 3,700 people in Makurdi have been killed since 2015. Villages have been effectively wiped off the map. Over a million Nigerians, terrified of what might await them, have chosen instead to live in Internally Displaced Person (IDP) camps.

Wilfred Anagbe, the Catholic Bishop of the Diocese of Makurdi, home to about a million people, says the massacres are a systematic attempt to kill Christians and Islamise the region – and that the authorities are turning a blind eye to the killing of Christians:

The quest to Islamise the land is high on the agenda of some of the most powerful and influential Muslims in Nigeria. There is a campaign to take land to spread Islam. Militant Fulani herdsmen are destroying society. They steal and vandalise. They kill and boast about it. They kidnap and rape – and they enjoy total impunity from the elected authorities.

The militiamen responsible for these attacks often target non-Muslims in isolated communities who are far from help. Anagbe says that these jihadists are, as with Isis, motivated by the spoils of war, and use their religion as an excuse. The rewards are certainly rich: Benue is Nigeria’s bread basket. The farms are fertile and well-tended. For years, Christian farmers have looked after these lands. But many now face an impossible choice: stay put and risk their lives, or flee – abandoning their farmland to the herdsmen.

“When they attack, they destroy churches and burn houses and schools,” Anagbe tells the Spectator. Several of the priests he is responsible for have been gunned down – so, too, have dozens of worshippers at churches in his diocese. …

“The experience of the Nigerian Christians today can be summed up as that of a Church under sustained Islamic emasculation and persecution,” [Anagbe] told a reception in [the UK] Parliament last month. ‘We must mobilise to ensure that we roll back this dark cloud of rabid religious intolerance and accompanying violence by radical Islam in Nigeria.”

It is not inconceivable that this sort of barbarism could arise in this country. Certainly Kneel’s mob of traitors are pushing for such an outcome. Mass deportations are the only solution along with closing down ALL muslim outlets – schools, mosques, shops, stores etc.

TINA.

It could easily happen anywhere.

Think on this and ask yourself would you consider such a religion is a genuine religion if this happened today?

Imagine a man who creates a new religion from scratch. Let us call him ‘Martin’.

Let us call this new religion ‘Aslan’ [after the Lion in the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe].

Martin even writes the manual for Aslan.

Martin is hailed the new Aslan religion’s Prophet even though he has foretold no prophesies.

Martin is charismatic and many simple uneducated people listen to him and follow him and his Aslan religion.

He leads them into battle and conquers a huge territory measuring 2500 miles from one corner to the other. Martin gains enormous wealth and power.

According to Martin’s manual for Aslan the barbarity of Martin’s conquests are conveniently assisted in that anyone who is not a follower of this Aslan religion is inferior and no better than a dog – an unbeliever to whom anything can be done. This can be done without prejudicing any Aslanist’s prospects of getting into Aslan heaven.

So rape murder torture and the like of non-Aslanists is allowed to Aslanist followers.

The Aslan manual he writes includes severe penalties for anyone who criticises Aslan, him or his manual. The manual is such a holy book that even the slightest unintentional scuffing of it risks death or injury.

Anyone who opposes him or his followers in battle are presented with a choice – head cut off or convert to this new Aslan ‘religion’.

And any Aslanist who fights for Martin’s Aslan and dies in battle will go to Aslan heaven and marry as many virgins as he wants.

The showing of cartoons of Martin warrants the death penalty from Martin’s followers.

So Martin found a winning formula for Dictatorship – no need for quasi-religious political dogma. Just create a religion.

But unlike others who create religions and want to be seen just as righteous holy men collecting alms from followers, Martin’s Aslan religion was a political movement to gain political power, territory and wealth. And Martin made sure it was part of his religion that, like all forms of gangsterism, fear and violence ensured absolute obedience.

And this religion was a great convenience to anyone annoyed by the political use of rival religions like Christianity and Judaism.

Christianity had become dominant in Europe. Indeed Europe had expanded and European territories surrounded the Mediterrean sea on all sides. Christianity was continuing to expand. The political expansion was by greedy Christian clerics who had themselves used Christianity to gain for themselves wealth, political power and territory.

So what could be better to control and push back the Christians but another ‘religion’ but one controlled by those who needed a rival ideology to do so.

No one had invented Godless political dogma of Marx, Engels, Lenin and the like. Their time had not yet come. And the simple uneducated people of this world were not ready for nor equipped with the educational skills to grasp and follow political dogma. But they knew of God and religion.

So Martin came up with Aslan and became not just the rich and powerful controller of vast territory but was proclaimed Aslan’s Prophet [even though a bit short on the traditional prophesies side].

So boys and girls, what do you think of Martin’s new religion? Do you think it might catch on in America?

Is the Aslan religion just a tad ‘racist’?

[I use that term here in the broader sense to include all who are not followers of Aslan wherever they may be and regardless of skin colour.]

Off-T

A short but powerful article from Mat Goodwin rightly lambasting Kneel and his traitorous criminal cohort for the imprisonment of Lucy Connolly.

Definitely ‘worth reading in full.’

Well done to Will Jones, the DS & the Spectator’s Tom Goodenough for daring to even mention the horrific persecution of Ethnic African Christian farmers in Africa by the partially Ethnic Arabic Fulani/ East African herders. The persecution in Nigeria is just part of the vast network of Muslim persecution of Ethnic African Christians all over Africa, usually ignored by the western media, politicians and Leftists whining about Gaza.

What has Ethnic African Nigerian convert-to-Catholicism Olukemi Olufunto Adegoke Badenoch Wannabe UK Prime Minister ever said about this?

Deafening silence…

Not quite nothing – I’m Yoruba; I have nothing in common with Boko Haram haven of northern Nigeria: Kemi Badenoch “I find it interesting that everybody defines me as being Nigerian. I identify less with the country than with the specific ethnicity [Yoruba],” the politician told British outlet The Spectator in an interview. “I have nothing in common with the people from the north of the country, the Boko Haram where Islamism is,” she added. Meanwhile, Ms Badenoch has once again doubled down on the criticism, stating that being Yoruba is her true identity and refuses to be lumped up with northern people of Nigeria, who “were our ethnic enemies” all in the name of being called a Nigerian. Nigerian VP who attacked Kemi Badenoch was accused of failures when Boko Haram kidnapped 200 girls | The Independent

I’m really struggling to understand why the Tory Party Grandees thought making a first generation Yoruba immigrant their Party Leader would recover the votes from the millions they infuriated with the policy of mass immigration which they had “promised” to end.

Not very bright, are they?

That’s because she is from the Nigerian Elite Royal Caste of Adegoke, and looks down with CONTEMPT upon lower caste tribes, as she so clearly illustrated when she called Third World Invaders to the West “PEASANTS”.

Somehow SHE is allowed show RACISM = TRIBALISM, but still PLAYS THE RACE CARD playing the victim, complaining about WHITE PEOPLE being Tribalist.

She’s a disgraceful hypocrite.

Maybe she has a natural ruling-class mentality, like public school boys in the UK – not necessarily racist – I’ve not seen her play the victim card – she can’t help her birth. Perhaps many on the right won’t support her because of her ethnicity?

Your comment is a joke— she plays the Race Card at every opportunity, whining about white racists while insisting on Marrying a White Man to further her career ambitions.

Both you and she are VIOLATING THE HUMAN RIGHTS of the INDIGENOUS PEOPLES OF THE BRITISH ISLES: the English, Welsh, Scots, Irish & their descendants around the world, whose ancestors have lived in these islands for more than A THOUSAND YEARS, and built them into a GREAT NATION.

The United Nations Declaration of the Human Rights of Indigenous Peoples ensures their right to protect their own culture, traditions, religion, ancestral homelands and ETHNIC IDENTITY from destruction by INVADING ALIEN CULTURES.

Now run along and tell the Indigenous People of Nigeria that they are going to be forced to have a BLONDE SWEDISH WOMAN as the President of Nigeria, and if they complain, they are “racists”.

And while you’re at it, look up the endless Tribal Conflicts between the Yoruba Tribe and the Igbo Tribe.

As a Christian nation, we should follow the great commission of Christ, which is to make disciples of all nations – not buy into a false white master race mentality. The British Empire ruled much of the world to bring Christian civilisation to the ‘natives’ – now some of those ‘natives,’ such as Kemi, are returning the favour – and we should be grateful. Better for the Kemi’s of this world than the militant Islamists who want to subjugate us to Shariah law – which some in Reform don’t seem to understand.

— 1) Jesus sent out the disciples to take the message to All of Humanity.

He did NOT tell them to bring ALL OF HUMANITY back to live in the disciples’ villages.

— 2) “Returning the favour”??? What favour might that be? Are you a supposed Christian pushing the Hindu concept of “KARMA”?
How have the Indigenous People of the British Isles benefitted in any way from Third World Immigration that NONE OF THEM EVER WANTED OR VOTED FOR?

— 3) You pull out the RACE CARD without blinking an eye, accusing Indigenous Britons of having “A FALSE WHITE MASTER RACE MENTALITY” if they oppose Mass Invasion from the Third World, meaning you think The World’s Smallest Ethnic Group has NO RIGHT TO EXIST and dwell in peace among their own people.

— 4) Now in the name of Justice, trot along to Nigeria and tell the Yoruba people that the Nigerian government is going to install an IGBO WOMAN as leader of the Yoruba Tribe, because “diversity”, and if the Yoruba kick up, they will be arrested and thrown into prison as “VILE RACISTS”, guilty of

“A FALSE YORUBA MASTER RACE MENTALITY”.

She is ‘British’ only in being born here at a private hospital – yeah, I know, makes a change from coming here to scam the taxpayer funded NHS – which shows how well off her family are. She then returned home to go to a top school before going to the US to finish her education. All of which gives Olukemi a great understanding of life growing up in the UK – Not! And then you can go to her first utterances on becoming a member of the UK Parliament to allegedly represent the British people who had elected which were all about what she would do for Nigeria.

Good find! I hadn’t heard about her first speeches boasting about what she could do for Nigeria. It’s like the Muslims who get elected in the UK and boast about what they will do for Pakistan or Gaza.

She did declare that she was “Proud to be part of THE PROJECT THAT IS GREAT BRITAIN”.

“Project”??? What project??? Nobody told the Indigenous they were part of any “Project”.

It meant the Project called “THE GREAT REPLACEMENT”.

VP Shettima’s ill-advised Kemi Badenoch bashing – Tribune Online “An angry Kemi shot back that she was not interested in identifying with the corruption-ridden Nigerian state, hobbled by Boko haram insurgency, banditry and Islamic fanaticism,  but rather with her Yoruba ethnic nativity. She would not want to be lumped with people from the northern part of the country who she said were Yoruba’s ethnic enemies.  Her spokesman said she was not inclined to do public relations for Nigeria.”

She understands her own Yoruba Tribe’s endless wars against the Igbo Tribe, that’s for sure.

And yet she has the brass neck to deny the right of Ethnic Europeans to be loyal to their own Tribes, and for preferring to live in peace among their own ethnic group.

Yes. Someone noted that if you combined the populations of Nigeria, Pakistan, Bangladesh & part of Turkey (not counting their millions in other countries), those people would be equivalent to ALL THE WHITE PEOPLE ON THE PLANET.

Another equivalent would be combining just the three largest provinces of India (not counting the diaspora): those people would be equivalent in number to ALL THE WHITE PEOPLE ON THE PLANET.

Funny how the World Wildlife Fund and Green Parties everywhere lavish money on providing “Safe Havens” for species threatened with extinction, but are nonchalant while watching The World’s Smallest Ethnic Group threatened with extinction. It is White People who are desperately in need of “Safe Havens”, never mind the Lesser Three-Toed Sloth, or Northern Hairy-Nosed Wombat!

They should be armed and trained to resist. This is about religiously inspired plunder and rapine by foreign powers. The Nigerian Army doesn’t care, maybe even sympathetic to the agenda of ethnic cleansing. Militias are Africa’s bane but can it really be much worse? Just War allows for defensive resistance. Jesus’ ‘turn the other cheek’ is relevant to intra-societal persecution ie Roman, even if a foreign power they were in authority. I’m glad Islam’s onslaught was withstood for over a 1000 yrs by Christian forces. ⅔ of the Christian Roman Empire was lost. We’re throwing away our advantage now.
