Over the weekend, I took another look at the Tortoise database of “climate misinformation” that I wrote about last week. As I explained at the time, I thought the offering from Tortoise, its funder Octopus and the academic social and computer scientists at the University of Exeter was pretty dire. But what I then found in the database after the article had been published really took my breath away. The devil is in the detail, as they say.
I encourage you to read Tortoise’s explanation of its methodology. It’s a big boast of the combined expertise of researchers, artificial intelligence and civil society organisations, all brought together by an unimpeachable news media organisation. It describes the use of well-crafted data and tools as though explaining the discovery of hitherto unknown cosmological phenomena.

I used to assume that Edenhofer meant wealth redistribution flowing downwards to the most vulnerable and poorest in society. But guess who are the ones most adversely impacted by net zero now. So after all it seems Edenhofer meant wealth flowing up towards the already ultra wealthy.
How typical of a Tory PM to appoint a Labour Party activist with extreme views on social control to manage a study. No freedom loving non-socialists were available I suppose.
Why do Ministers always want a study by green fanatical lefties. Why can’t they make up their own minds.

I’m from the time when we were taught to teach ourselves and how. I don’t need a university degree to apply intelligent thought, reason, logic, critical analysis and recognise bovine fæces, manipulation, disingenuousness, deceit and lies. And science – chemistry, physics, biology was on the curriculum in those days in secondary education studied by most at least to age 16.
The “experts” and “scientists” and The Science™️ have brought us the greatest Man-made calamity to date – the CoVid scamdemic and mass medication with a dangerous medical product. The death toll is in millions and injury toll in tens of millions with an enormous economic impact.
There is no climate crisis. There is a long-term… 12 000 years to date, transition out of the last Ice Age, with slow, incremental, irregular warming and unnoticeable shift towards ropical climate condition which will happen on a timescale and in a manner that our “good” Earth “decides” – and there’s nothing puny Man can or can’t do to change that.
There are currently quite a few people in prison because they’ve been labelled as spreading racial hatred for more or less clumsily expressed criticism¹ of the government policy with regards to illegal immigration. Hence, that anyone can be accused of anything and held on remand until he pleads guilty to anything to shorten his executive-ordered incarceration isn’t exactly news.
¹ To the university-educated chattering classes, the very fact the people who never had any kind of higher education will express themselves in rather not-so-sophisticated ways is apparently already sufficient for presumption of guilt of anything, especially of hate-anything because of the more emotive use of language which is typical for people with little formal education.
The trouble with AI is that it is only as good as its training allows. It is like schools in UK where all the teachers are teaching woke ideology and you end up with woke kids and who are ill-equipped for critical thinking.
The trouble with AI is how to sell it despite it doesn’t work, has never worked and will never work.
