Police chiefs have been slammed for surrendering to a rampaging Black Lives Matter mob, withdrawing armed officers from Downing Street during the height of violent protests in 2020. The Mail has the story.
Senior officers put the security of No.10 in jeopardy by their “reckless” order, say critics who accuse Scotland Yard of appeasing the hostile rabble.
The extraordinary decision, exposed by the Mail on Sunday today, came as an anti-racist rally in Whitehall turned ugly in 2020. Met police chiefs were so worried about the violent crowd attempting to breach the barrier to Downing Street that they commanded elite armed officers to withdraw, fearing activists might grab their guns and use them, court papers reveal.
It is the first time the Met has admitted that armed officers were deliberately taken away from Downing Street during a riot. The clashes, which took place when Boris Johnson was Prime Minister, left more than two dozen police officers injured, including a policewoman hospitalised after her horse bolted.
Three days after the troubling scenes, Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer was photographed with his deputy Angela Rayner taking the knee in support of BLM.
Senior politicians reacted with fury last night, describing the Mail on Sunday’s revelations as evidence of “two-tier policing” and demanded an immediate investigation.
Shadow Justice Secretary Robert Jenrick said: “If this is true, then the Met’s leadership recklessly surrendered to the mob and jeopardised the security of Downing Street in a pathetic attempt to placate hostile protesters. This will only add to the growing perception of two-tier policing where fashionable causes and minority groups are treated more leniently than everyone else.”
Reform MP Lee Anderson said: “To learn that armed police were stood down due to fears of having their weapons taken is absolutely shocking. Mayor Sadiq Khan and the then commissioner Cressida Dick have serious questions to answer.
“To think our Met capitulated to the rabble that is BLM is truly staggering. Maybe now the current PM and Deputy PM will stop taking the knee and get on with protecting the public. There is absolutely no point in our police carrying guns if they are not expected to use them. Our police are there to protect and serve, not to cower and surrender.”

What do you expect when $policeman using $gun routinely leads to a murder investigation?
Recent Germany event: An asylum seeker from Afghanistan tragically (that’s quote from the article) died because a policeman shot him as he was about to knife a Germany guy. Tragically, mind you. And the policeman is obviously being investigated now as we can’t have Muslims tragically shot at when they’re just peacefully trying to knife someone.
The core of the civil service is completely rotten and needs to be ripped out, including dildo butt monkeys etc. and the people whose sole political urge is that them paying taxes from their plentiful incomes is theft by the socialist state won’t be of any use here. Nothing can ever be built on universal negation.
Isn’t it remarkable that politicians never see or learn what is going on. It is as if they go around with metaphorical and literal blinkers on. Whatever the issue they did not know.
Whether it was a colleague touching up boys and girls, inadequate risk management at the country’s l;argest airport (by far) or police engaged in high risk double standards, thye Ministers never knew; their SPADs bnever knew; civil servants never knew and it was never mentioned at any subsequent debriefing. Odd?

Intelligent decision by the police.
Quite obvious in fact.

I wonder if Lee Anderson has ever held a gun (other than a shot gun) and more importantly, in a public place , and then even more importantly in the midst of an unruly violent mob of which one idiot might just steal a gun AND use it.
Wake up dolts. Think just a little bit.
The only ‘dolt’ here is you. If someone is trying to take my weapon them I will shoot them because I am not only in fear of my own life but I fear for the lives of others. When there are no more rounds left they can have the weapon; it is now just a club. Prat!
May I please, in the best of faith, ask you two questions:
What is the point of police officers carrying guns if, as you say, there is a risk that the mob will grab them and use them against the police officers themselves?
If, instead of BLM mob, it was people demonstrating against illegal immigrants (rendered “extreme Right thugs” by Starmer) would the Met high command have also ordered the armed officers to withdraw?
I daresay they would have dug a water cannon out if mothballs as happened (was it in the Netherlands?) to someone at a lock down protest, although I’m not sure if we have one.
Knocked a poor innocent passer-by off her feet.
I don’t see why this couldn’t be deployed in such a situation if firearms dare not be used.
How absolutely humiliating; I could weep – and now to be terrorised by that absolute melt in no.10.
The point of these people being armed is exactly to enable them to deal with unruly violent mobs. The purpose of guns is not carrying them for show but shooting with them and the chance are good that a couple of warning shots would have caused the unruly violent mob to become rather calm and seek a greener pasture elsewhere. In any case, there’s absolutely no point in having armed police on duty to protect Downing Street when they just surrender and go home once such protection would actually be needed, provided the right kind of people seek to breach the supposedly secure perimeter.
BTW, in my universe “BLM approaches! We must surrender!” doesn’t count as thinking, more mindless repetition of a party line.

BLM – Bloody Lefty Mob. Con-artists of our time.
And the Met, Kommissar Khan, Sir Two-Tier and Ms Nobrayner pandered to the sham.
Burglary Looting Murder
Braindead Lobotomized Marxists.
Shock? Hardly.
It ought to be.
Shocking but hardly a surprise, I think he meant, and I totally agree.
And this wasn’t clear at the time?
