We don’t often make pleas for donations on the Daily Sceptic, but every Christmas we ask readers to dip into their pockets to help keep the show on the road.
As regular readers will know, donations from readers are more or less our only source of revenue. Yes, we average 1.5 million page views a month, which, as Guido Fawkes pointed out, is more than the New Statesman, the Morning Star and Novara Media combined. But thanks to the activities of companies like NewsGuard, which rank news publishing sites according to how ‘safe’ they are for companies to advertise on, the Daily Sceptic struggles to attract any advertising. This is a prime example of the censorship-industrial complex at work. You can read Will Jones on our most recent engagement with NewsGuard here.
Donald Trump has said he intends to appoint Brendan Carr, a vocal critic of censorship on social media, as head of the Federal Communications Commission and, according to the President-elect, he’s a “warrior for free speech”. Let’s hope he can dismantle the censorship-industrial complex, but in the meantime we need your help. You can make a donation here.
In July, we introduced some perks to encourage people to become regular donors, and if you donate a minimum of £5 a month or £50 a year, you can access these benefits:
- You’ll be able to read the additional articles behind our paywall
- You’ll receive those paywalled articles in the daily email newsletter
- You’ll be able to watch or listen to the premium version of the Sceptic, our weekly podcast
- You’ll be able to access our members-only Discord forum where you may get an opportunity to discuss our latest articles with their authors
- You’ll be able to comment below the line on all our articles
Instructions on how to access these perks once you’ve made a donation of at least £5/month or £50/year can be found on our Premium page, which you can access here.
For a long time, I resisted introducing a paywall because I think it’s important our content reaches as wide an audience as possible. However, I wanted to give readers a real incentive to support our work by becoming regular donors so decided to stick one article a day behind a paywall. The rest of the content is still free, but to keep it that way we really need you to become a recurring donor.
So, if you value what we do, please think about making a donation to the Daily Sceptic this Christmas. We’re only able to continue producing such high-quality journalism by employing four members of staff – Will Jones, Richard Eldred, Laurie Wastell and me – and by paying a stable of regular contributors, including Ben Pile, Charlotte Gill, Noah Carl, Steven Tucker, Ian Rons, James Alexander and Paul Homewood. And we can’t continue to pay anyone without the generous support of our readers. Remember, just £5/month or £50/year will enable you to access our full range of perks, as well as support our work.
A big thank you to all those people who’ve donated in 2024, particularly those who’ve set up recurring monthly donations – and thanks to those who regularly post below the line. It’s hugely appreciated.
Merry Christmas.

Give what you can to Lord Young and his fellow colleagues. The DS is a vital source of knowledge to the world.
Hardly MSM. They just disagree with you on some issue(s) you feel strongly about.
I’ve just bunged him an extra £20 on top of my monthly subscription. He and the DS definitely deserve a Christmas bonus for all the sterling work they do.
It’s your money pal, do what you want with it.
As a jew-hater you presumably prefer BBC news site?
Bearing in mind one has to pay money to the DS in order to comment, what does that say about this hostile entity and his nonsensical comment? Yes, you’re engaging with a proper Brainiac there, evidently…
“Any publication that hasn’t at least questioned Israels conduct in the ME is because they’ve been paid not to”
Who has paid DS to not question Israel?
Surely it’s plausible that they simply view it differently to you?

Dear Insurrectionist
Do you recall what that nice Mr Starmer said recently about people who don’t like the UK?
“If you dont like it, you are always welcome to leave”
You seem happy to come on this site every day, read it, and comment on an almost daily basis. You brag about not paying for the privilege, you say we are deluded, and you call other Commenters idiots
Here we are in the season of goodwill, and all you can do is carp on and criticise and abuse the DS staff and our Commenters
SO. Christmas Special Offer
Either a full retraction and apology is posted here by 1400 GMT, or you’re banned from the site for ever

Blimey. Well that deserves a from me.
Many thanks to the Daily Sceptic team for this welcome Christmas news. Much appreciated.
Twenty pound donation just added.
Thank you!
1401, banned
That will do nicely.
Ho ho ho!
Do you think if I bung them 20 quid the mods will also ban the unhinged one-man Schizo Clown show stalker, who’s taken an obvious personal dislike to me? Doubt it..

Twenty bleeding quid? Make it 50 and you’re on! Be the first money I’ve been paid after almost 5 years of moderating you ‘orrible lot…
Jolly Christmas japes, happy holidays one and all, from a very cold beach in Cornwall…
Why do I get the feeling you know exactly who I’m on about? Also, it does sound a bit like I’m negotiating the price before hiring a hit man.
Anyway, Merry Christmas to yourself and the rest of the crew. I miss Cornwall’s gorgeous coastline and secret coves. I lived in Perranporth, which has a very nice beach ( wonder if The Watering Hole is still there…), and if you wanted to go naked as the day you were born you could do that at the far end, which was designated nudist.

Nothing like a bit of moderating on a cold beach to evoke the yule tide cheer!
Good lord, what ever did “Insurrectionist” say to deserve such a disciplinary dress-down? With a 2 o clock ultimatum as well!
£50 winging its way to you good folks. Hope it goes towards the bottles of Krug (I personally prefer the non vintage) which Toby will now no doubt feel obliged to gift you each
Merry Christmas
