In February 2022 the green billionaire-funded Carbon Brief reported that a rise of 0.3ºC in the current global temperature would kill off 99.8% of coral with the rest going as a result of another 0.5ºC of warming. The increasingly unpopular prints are full of similar tosh, despite the fact that sub-tropical corals grow happily between 24ºC-32ºC. Limiting global warming to 1.5ºC rather than 2ºC would likely be the difference between the complete decline of the Great Barrier Reef (GBR), reports the Guardian, quoting a United Nations report. What decline we might ask following three stonking years of embarrassing record growth? Such great click-bait stories are endemic throughout the mainstream media – it’s just a shame about the facts. A newly-published science paper reveals massive increases in coral on the GBR from about 8,000 to 6,000 years ago at a time when sea surface temperatures were 4ºC higher.
The coral story, of course, is an excellent example of the numerous fear-mongering swindles being perpetrated to push the insanities of Net Zero. Three years of record growth on the GBR – the highest in nearly 40 years of constant observation on the world’s largest Reef system – have simply been ignored by the mainstream media. Even worse, there were attempts to deflect the excellent news this year by running a nonsense story from Nature that claimed “climate change” posed an “existential threat” to the GBR. Temperatures at the Reef were said to be at their highest level for 400 years. All of this stuff is published when it is known that gentle and tiny rises in overall sea surface temperature are more likely to benefit coral than cause it long-term harm.

On issues of climate I reckon 90% or more of the public know very little or nothing. They will never have heard of the Little Ice Age, The Medieval Warming etc. They won’t know that we are in an Interglacial Period within an ice Age. They won’t know how much CO2 is in the atmosphere or how much is caused by humans and how much is natural. They won’t realise that storms floods droughts and wild fires and not actually getting more intense or extreme. —————-So ironically when politics today focusses on “Misinformation” and “Fake News” to control all narratives, the public are at the mercy of government and the consolidated media that they control filling people’s heads full of evidence free garbage about a phony “climate crisis”. Then because we mostly know nothing of the issues, we are at the mercy of the Political Class imposing there One World Agenda on us who can tell us virtually anything they want about the climate and we will blindly accept it all, because we don’t think it is possible to be lied to on such a scale.
Unfortunately you’re exactly right.
However history shows that political changes occur at the margins and whilst it’s true that the commanding heights of the establishment are in the hands of the enemy a decent groundswell of severe discontent can still effect change and as more and more ordinary people wake up to the horrors of mutilated kids, net zero mandated poverty and unemployment and all the rest of it it’s impossible to predict how this will play out.
It is impossible to predict how this will play out. But one thing is for sure and that is that the people who shout the loudest are the only one’s governments pay any attention to. When millions more are forced into fuel poverty and our mums and grans cannot heat their house so Miliband and Labour can play at saving the planet, people might eventually wake up. Sometimes it just takes one incident, like a dead grandmother frozen in her own house to spark something in people. In their absurd obsession with global warming, governments conveniently forget that cold kills 20 times more people than heat ever does.
I do find it particularly gratifying when on rare occasions I’ve witnessed somebody start to ‘wake up’ from their slumber. We know it’s a slow process that perhaps involves a trigger point and an acceptance that the ‘improbable’ (in their view) is actually true and has to be faced. It’s the blue / red pill scenario and I believe it’s on this axis that the behavioural psychologists operate.
I hope you’re right ‘jack the dog’, that ordinary, (sane) people ‘can still effect change’. On a lighter note, can you play the trumpet? If so, are you aware that you can go from Tooting to Barking in under an hour on the underground?—–I’ll get mi coat.’
Great analysis Varmint. If the government genuinely focussed on misinformation the “consolidated media” would be just about shut down.
re the climate bloopers. There used to be mosquitoes in the Essex marshes.
Peter Ridd – the scientist who pointed out the dodgy science of the Reef Catastrophists – is owed an apology … and more. He was hounded from his position at James Cook University for not ‘collegially’ going along with the lies.
What disturbs me most are the thousands of people who play along in today’s society. How can one be proud of being a journalist when all you do is copy what someone tells you to write and when you are forbidden from providing an alternative opinion? How can one be proud of being a policeman when you are told the only crimes committed are by people writing on Twitter and you are especially never to offend anyone of colour? How can one be proud of being a GP when you spend all day (and especially the night and weekends) avoiding prospective patients? How can one be proud of being a nurse when you are suddenly ordered to treat a standard disease with novel medicines which worsen the patient’s condition, or ask an old man if he is pregnant? How can one be proud of being a teacher and accepting to teach children there are a myriad genders? How can one be proud of being a civil servant and just processing one dubious claim for asylum after another? How can one be proud of being a politician when all you do is tow the party line and damage those who voted you in office?
I can only imagine how depressing it must be to be forced to live a life void of common sense.
Oops, I got carried away. But what happened to journalists? How can they print so much unadulterated nonsense, not only about the climate?
Most journalists have given up on actual journalism. They just write what they think their bosses want to hear and wait for their wages to arrive.
Yes or some hint truth then back off. Even on GB news they give air time to a climate change activist called Jim Dale who thinks anyone asking questions is a “climate denier” who should be jailed. In all of science have you ever heard of wanting to jail people who don’t agree with you? NEVER. So all this does is confirm that this issue isn’t and never was about science from the start.
Accurate more like. I remember the days of investigative journalists, when they got off Twitter and actually investigated, not wrote puff pieces from PR companies about pharma and climate etc. It’s that old adage, ‘follow the money’.
I think I have read before that it is thermal shock that damages reefs. Sudden warm or cold water causes the corals to eject their essential bacteria and the reef bleaches, but given a return to favourable conditions it will quickly recover just as the GBR has. Most long term damage is caused by pollution and overfishing.
A steady rising of sea temperature will do the GBR no harm at all. Even today the same corals live very happily in much warmer seas further north.
“40 years of constant observation on the world’s largest Reef system – have simply been ignored”
Nothing new 100,000+ people walking through the streets of central London virtually very month during 2021 and 2022 protesting against Lockdowns and the imposition of gene therapy treatments were ignored by the MSM.
