  • “Far-Right and Muslims clash in fresh riots” – Violent clashes have broken out between white protestors and Muslim counter-protesters in a sixth day of unrest on Britain’s streets, reports the Telegraph.
  • “Police commissioner blames illegal immigration for riots” – A policing chief has suggested that “mass uncontrolled immigration” is one of the reasons behind rioting which has spread across the U.K., according to the Telegraph.
  • “SNP calls for vigilantes to defend Glasgow’s streets from far-Right ‘thugs’ if riots reach city” – Senior SNP officials have been accused of undermining police after they called for pro-independence vigilantes to confront far-Right “thugs” in Glasgow, reports the Telegraph.
  • “Starmer’s honeymoon period over as approval rating plummets” – Keir Starmer’s honeymoon period in Downing Street appears to be over after his approval rating plummeted by 16 points in a fortnight, says the Telegraph.
  • “New crime of Islamophobia in wake of riots ‘would threaten free speech’” – MPs have warned that making Islamophobia a new crime in response to the rioting would threaten free speech, reports the Telegraph.
  • “When is violence ‘mindless’ and when is it not? ” – On Substack, Paul Sutton calls out political double standards in the handling of the riots.
  • “Is Britain falling apart?” – As in 1974, a hopeless Tory government has been replaced and the new one is already out of ideas, says Ed West in the Spectator.
  • “Keir Starmer accused of worsening antisemitism after Israel arms embargo plans exposed” – Jewish Labour members say that the Prime Minister’s stance towards Israel is resulting in “domestic fallout” for British Jews and he has “failed to acknowledge” how antisemitism has become “normalised” in the U.K., according to the Telegraph.
  • “Labour’s naivety is now a danger to Britain” – The Government appears more concerned with mollifying the anti-Israel Left than taking a hard line on Iran, says Richard Kemp in the Telegraph.
  • “Labour drops Tory plans to cut Civil Service numbers” – The Government has quietly scrapped the last government’s plans to cut 66,000 Civil Service jobs, according to the Telegraph.
  • “Brexit and democracy are now directly endangered by a cabal of arch Remainers” – In the Telegraph, Bill Cash warns that Starmer’s Government cannot be trusted on Brexit after the European Scrutiny Committee, which he used to chair, was abolished on the last day before the summer recess.
  • “Do universities need a free speech law? The cases for and against” – A Tory Act designed to fight cancel culture on campus has been ditched. In the Sunday Times, Kathleen Stock, who quit her university job after protests, argues in favour of the Act while Sami Berkoff of the Union of Jewish Students claims it would have endangered minorities.

  • “Why Ed Miliband’s Net Zero idealism is about to hit cold, political reality” – It wouldn’t take much to derail Labour’s resurgence in Scotland, says Jeremy Warner in the Telegraph. Miliband’s wanton destruction of Scotland’s oil and gas industry might just do it.

This is utterly superb! Everyone needs to watch this. It's easily one of the most sensible clips I have seen on how to stop the riots.
