Ben Affleck has told his daughter that she needs to be “realistic” about her demands for mask mandates and can’t rely on his celebrity status after the 18-year-old was left “extremely disheartened” by the “ridicule” she received in response to her speech. The Mail has the story.
Violet Affleck called for an end to all “mask bans” in medical facilities and Government buildings during an impassioned plea to the governing body for Los Angeles County last week, in which she detailed her experience of contracting “a post-viral condition” in 2019.
Unsurprisingly, her unexpected speech, which clocked in at just under one minute, proved divisive, with some hailing her “courageous”, while others branded her “utterly deluded”.
Violet, the eldest daughter of Ben, 51, and his ex-wife Jennifer Garner, 52, is said to be struggling with the “ridicule” and has been left feeling “alone” in her fight to strengthen pandemic-era protections.
“While Ben and Jen will always support their daughter, Ben had a conversation with her and told her that she needs to be realistic with this because he doesn’t want her to waste all of her time putting effort into something that probably won’t make a difference in the long run,” an insider told DailyMail.com.
“He knows how strongly she feels about this, but now that Violet is an adult, he felt that it was his duty to let her know that she is David fighting Goliath and that most people unfortunately do not feel the same way she does about this.
“He was also concerned that Violet felt as if her parent’s star power was going to be able to guarantee her the outcome that she wanted which, in this case, it is not.”
During her speech, Violet urged the board “to confront the Long Covid crisis” by strengthening protections, offering high-quality tests and opposing a ban on masks.
“I demand mask availability, air filtration and Far-UVC light in Government facilitates, including jails and detention centres, and mask mandates in county medical faculties,” she said.
“You must expand the availability of high-quality free tests and treatment, and most importantly the county must oppose mask bans for any reason.
“They do not keep us safer. They make vulnerable members of our community less safe and make everyone less able to participate in Los Angeles together.” …
Violet – who recently graduated from high school – is now looking to pull back from pushing the pleas further.
“Violet is extremely disheartened and feels that her plea did nothing more than to set her up for further ridicule,” the insider continued. “She believes that her plea for mask mandates fell on deaf ears because it isn’t even being considered.
“She stopped reading the critique and, while she is proud of her bravery in doing this, she sees no point in pushing the envelope even further.
“It is clear to her and to those around her that she is pretty much alone on this one.”

You’ve got to feel for the kid. She was 14 when it kicked off, probably just as f*cked by the propaganda as the others.
Being part of Hollywood hasn’t helped, but at least her famous parents are being vaguely normal about it…
I do feel sorry for these kids because, as you’ve said, they’ve grown up with all this risk-free nonsense (and all the other damaging nonsense) being normal. Unfortunately, these kids also need putting in their place – we can’t just afford to be sympathetic.

I agree, but look at the indoctrination that has bought her to this, a girl of 18 terrified of life, who is now feeling “vulnerable” because people didn’t agree with her view of the world. This is and I say this not out of unkindness, because its sad, this is a weak and rather pathetic human, infantilised by the school and Government, she is not alone, look around you we have allowed governments to take over the parental responsibility and look at what they have created! A generation of young people who are scared of everything, the air, their planet, being disagreed with, in summary life.

I know I felt alone too, I felt alone and vulnerable when the lovely villagers threw me out of local groups because I hadn’t taken the injection, I felt even more vulnerable when after returning from a break, I was visited by one of the Government stazi agents to check I was indoors (even after testing negative on preflight to UK), and then 2 days a later being visited by the local police to check I was staying indoors. Which incidentally was a suprise as where I live I thought they were an extinct species, based on the lack of ever tackling crime.
I wish I had the courage of Violet and had just taken mysef off into a safe space, as opposed to getting on with my life but always remembering those who became inhumane at the request of the men and women in Whitehall
I remember telling people “I’m exempt” a lot, usually worked. In the Kebab shop they did question me when I told them I have Asthma, he asked what type inhaler I used, I just mumbled something and walked out. If they wanted confrontation, they were on the right path. Walked into a Caffe looking for a sandwich without a mask, and most people are looking with amusement. There was a Coffee shop in another town where I didn’t bother say I’m exempt he didn’t serve me so I leant over to him and told him you’ll be wearing those things for the next five years and walked out. As I’ve said. We need more bolshy people like Godfrey Bloom and the TV characters like Victor Meldrew and Alf Garnet.

The whole face-covering hysteria has deranged many minds. I am reminded of a woman who flew into a panic because she had forgotten to put hers on before entering a dining room, where she would only have to remove it again. When face-coverings were imposed on society, I immediately bought a mask-exempt lanyard from Amazon, which I wore everywhere when out and about. Once day, a woman, masked to the eyeballs, asked me if I didn’t feel ridiculous wearing it…. What is it about this practice that has people hooked on it like a narcotic? That is to say, they will never be cured, only learn to manage without their theatrical prop.
