BBC Spreads Misinformation That Hurricane Beryl is a “Sign of a Warming World”

by Chris Morrison
16 July 2024 9:00 AM

Recent drought trends in the United States are increasing, decreasing or not changing. What is it? In fact all of the trends are correct depending on the time scale selected. From 1933 the trend is increasing, from 1981 it is decreasing, while over the longest period from 1895 it has not changed. The claims now backing the Net Zero madness are bad weather events and selected statistics such as the above. They are little more than junk sound bites and are incapable of providing any useful insight into a changing climate. Most of the scare stories spread constantly by activists masquerading as journalists are “cartoonish media caricatures of climate change” observes the distinguished science writer Roger Pielke Jr. in a new series on his Honest Broker Substack.

For starters, Pielke takes issue with the term “climate change”, which he notes does not affect the weather. It is a statistical outcome of the aggregation of individual meteorological  events, not the cause of bad weather, human or otherwise. Climate change, as the U.S. drought example shows, varies across all time scales. Determining that one weather event is attributed to human involvement is impossible, with Pielke adding that extreme events are actually among the worst places to look for changes in the climate. They occur rarely, long-term observations are limited, and detection of change takes time.

The most signficant bit of above (and sort of new, but says it all):

For starters, Pielke takes issue with the term “climate change”, which he notes does not affect the weather. It is a statistical outcome of the aggregation of individual meteorological events, not the cause of bad weather, human or otherwise.

Climate change causes ___________ (insert weather event of choice), is like saying wet pavements caused the rain.

Hottest July evah! in West Sussex. 2 weeks of incessant rain. I see 3 days coming this week above 24C. Cue the BBC and the climate idiots. That will be enough to make this July the hottest evah (as the cult ‘normalises’ our temps against ‘global’ temps etc, bla bla).

The greatest pseudo scientific fraud ever perpetrated on an unsuspecting public. You don’t have to fool all of the people all of the time, you only have to fool 80 or 90% of them, and in that regard the fraud has been extremely successful. Aided by a bought and paid for activist media the public have been convinced that dangerous changes to climate are occurring and we must be rid of fossil fuels that provide 85% of the world’s energy and use part time niche technologies like wind and sun instead. People mostly accept this because they see all these storms and floods on their telly and assume this must be “climate change”. But as in all things, “assumptions” are very dangerous. Assuming things will get you into all kinds of trouble. On the other hand, a look at some real-world data will mean you can ditch your assumptions. That data will reveal that there is no increase in the frequency or intensity of any type of weather event. There is nothing unusual or unprecedented about current climate or temperature. So what people assumed is “climate change” is really just “climate”. ———So once you filter out the junk science what you are left with is POLITICS. The kind of Politics you are about to be hit over the head with by the likes of the eco socialist clown Miliband. —-Do yourself a favour and STOP assuming things.

Heard on Five Live talking about Labour giving more power to Local areas away from Westminster. I though to myself, yes more power to Locals that agree with you!
Beware of Labour bearing gifts.

There are very few voices attributing this lousy summer weather to human induced climate change.

My theory is that it is that we have now passed “peak climate change” or warming and are now entering the downswing of a natural climate cycle.

Trouble is they’ve got you every which way. Too hot and dry? AGW. Too cold and wet? AGW.
My mind always goes to a ladybird book I has as a child, with wonderful illustrations, featuring Henny Penny and the sky falling in. Of course it was enjoyable because we could all laugh at the stupid chickens…which I’m still doing in a manner of speaking.

Except: climate cycles really have to be measured in tens of thousands of years to be meaningful.

Not so. What about El Nino, the Multi-Decadal Atlantic Oscillation, the natural warming that occurred and is still occurring after the “Little Ice Age”. All the changes we’re seeing over decades, years or even months have perfectly natural explanations.

I am afraid that to the rabid climate activist, everything that happens is due to human activity. No matter if it is hotter or colder, wetter or drier, it is according to them “not inconsistent with what we should expect in a warmer world”
However when everything that happens is due to your theory then you are not indulging in science. If there is no way to falsify what you are saying, then it isn’t science. And most annoyingly for the rabid activist, the IPCC itself have recently said that their worst case scenario’s from their models are very unlikely to ever occur.

The logic behind this is that the warming world is an axiom (something whose truthfulness is a priori assumed) and that whatever happens must thus be consistent with it. To the true believer (or political activist) whatever happens proves that he’s been right all the time.

A story I’d love to have seen would have been¹ how England not winning the Euros 2024² was another final shot across the bow from climate change and that such catastrophic events are going to get ever more probable in future unless the amount of greenhouse gases Britain releases into the atmosphere is drastically reduced as a matter of extreme urgency. That’s how stereotypical these pseudo-newsstories have meanwhile become.

¹ I didn’t really look for fear of finding it.
² After what must have been a pretty lame game — didn’t watch it³.
² There are some things I care even less about than football but not many.

I read a book – the book was more entertaining, intelligent and worthwhile than watching the borefest called football. Side to side. Back to the keeper. Tippy tappy. Oh look a corner. If you had sip of your fav drink after anything exciting in a game happened, you are 100% guaranteed to be stone sober at the end of it and your glass mostly full.

I was in a pub at that time and kept track of the goals out of curiosity. Seemed like an instance of the old Bayern München shtick, score a goal and as that’s good enough, try to maintain the lead by playing extremely ‘risk-averse’ afterwards.

Some people love cricket. It is such a bore that they even stop in the middle for lunch. It’s all down to personal taste what?

Some people even love baseball, although that’s hard to believe.

In theory, association football is a competitive and combatative ball game where two teams are supposed to fight each other by trying to score the highest number of goals possible.

In practice, professional football sometimes ends up being about scoring the minimum number of goals required for securing the next objective and get through the remaining time by avoiding anything which could endanger the already secured outcome. A typical sign of that is field players passing the ball to their own goalkeeper or aimlessly kicking it around on their side of the field.

I’m sure we could come up with something about the impacts of climate change on football….with ever more unpredictable weather, grounds keepers are warning that real grass pitches will become impossible to maintain, flooding in the winter and drying out in summer. Meanwhile, the manufacture of artificial surfaces contributes to climate change. The players, of course, will all be suffering from from malaria or dengue due to rising temperatures, and don’t forget the effects of sea level rise (on the positive side, Fratton Park would surely b one of the first grounds to go)

Or why the Germans stopped winning in 2014 and have been terrible ever since is all due to greenhouse gasses. We must act now before Germany never win another world cup ever again.

This has been due to an ambassador of woke remake which, I kid you not, also included renaming the team from German National Team (Deutsche Nationalmannschaft) to The Team™ (Die Mannschaft) as German and National are ‘outdated’ and awkward Nazi terms. Since then, its members have mostly been making headlines for their Pride!-antics and have generally become a national laughing stock in Germany.

The best climate change nonsense I’ve read today was in the guardian. Apparently the climate crisis is causing the days to get longer. (Milliseconds). All to do with melting of ice caps due to melting of ice caps affecting earths shape! Had a good laugh at that one ☝️

Why is anyone still listening or reading msm. After four years of lies, why would anyone give msm a minute of their time. Please look up Professor Willie Soon, an astrophysicist who spent 20 yrs at Harvard researching and publishing papers on climate change. He is very clear when he states 90% of climate change is related to the sun, NOT CO2. The same Sun which is being blocked daily by? With chem trails, weather modification Geoengineering. Call it what you like.

Please dig deeper, turn OFF MSM and find reputable resources for your information. News outlets and their bought and paid for journalists are not reliable sources.
