“The Only Surprise is he Hasn’t Named one the Sadiq Line” – Khan Blasted for £6 Million Woke Tube Makeover

by Will Jones
15 February 2024 1:08 PM

Sadiq Khan was today blasted for “virtue signalling nonsense” as he unveiled new names and colours for all six London Overground rail lines in a £6.3 million project. The Mail has more.

The Lioness, Mildmay, Windrush, Weaver, Suffragette and Liberty lines were revealed by the Mayor, with his Conservative mayoral rival Susan Hall saying “the only surprise from today’s announcement is that he hasn’t named one of them the Sadiq line”.

Other Tories blasted a “wasted opportunity”, claiming that naming rights would have earned TfL millions which could have been invested in the beleaguered Central line – and Mr. Khan was “just putting a new lick of paint over a creaking transport system”.

Further critics highlighted the high rebrand cost given TfL had been on the verge of bankruptcy before securing last-minute Government funding, and how Tube crime has soared by more than 50% fuelled by a surge in thefts and robberies.

The announcement also comes four days before a major Overground strike will hit services from next Monday – and in the context on ongoing Underground chaos on the Central line due to more trains than usual needing repairs at the same time.

Mr. Khan, who is standing for re-election on May 2nd, caused fury with his Ultra Low Emission Zone (Ulez) expansion last August – and is now battling for votes with his recent decisions to freeze Tube fares and make Fridays off-peak from next month.

Also today, there was no Overground between Barking and Barking Riverside due to vandalism, as well as delays on the Piccadilly line due to a signal failure at King’s Cross St. Pancras and on the Hammersmith and City line due to cancellations.

Overground lines have all been orange since the network was created in 2007 when Transport for London (TfL) took control of services on four suburban rail lines.

The network has expanded significantly since then, creating what has been called a “mass of orange spaghetti” on maps, making it difficult for some passengers to work out what train they need. TfL hopes the overhaul will now make it easier to navigate.

Each route will be represented on Tube maps as parallel lines in different colours – which will require one of the biggest changes in the history of the famous diagram. …

  • The Lioness line between Euston and Watford Junction (yellow): This honours the England women’s football team winning Euro 2022 at Wembley, which is on the line.
  • The Mildmay line between Stratford and Richmond/Clapham Junction (blue): The Mildmay Mission Hospital in Shoreditch specialises in treating patients with HIV-related illnesses.
  • The Windrush line between Highbury & Islington and Clapham Junction/New Cross/Crystal Palace/West Croydon (red): The name honours the Windrush generation, who came to the U.K. from the Caribbean to fill labour shortages after the Second World War. The line runs through areas with communities linked to the Caribbean.
  • The Weaver line between Liverpool Street and Cheshunt/Enfield Town/Chingford (maroon): The line runs through areas known for the textile trade.
  • The Suffragette line between Gospel Oak and Barking Riverside (green): This is in tribute to the movement that fought for votes for women. Barking was home to suffragette Annie Huggett, who lived to 103.
  • The Liberty line between Romford and Upminster (grey): This celebrates how Havering, which the line runs through, historically had more self-governance through being a royal liberty.

Worth reading in full.

Perhaps we could christen one the PoS line in honour of Sadiq?

Whatever he names things, he can afford it with all the money he is making from ULEZ.

And what better way to create massive confusion for everyone in one of the world’s busiest and most popular cities.

The man is deranged IMHO.

World’s worst Mayor ever.

Which name is better?

The original name or the new name?

The original name does tell the user where the line runs from and to but the new name tells the user nothing:

The new lines are:
Lioness: Euston to Watford Junction. Runs through Wembley, honouring the England women’s football team; yellow parallel lines on the map.

Mildmay: Stratford to Richmond/Clapham Junction. Runs through Dalston and honours the charitable hospital in Shoreditch’s pivotal role in the HIV/Aids crisis in the 1980s. Blue parallel lines on the map.

Windrush: Highbury & Islington to Clapham Junction/New Cross/Crystal Palace/West Croydon. Runs through areas with strong ties to Caribbean communities, honouring the Windrush generation. Red parallel lines on the map.

Weaver: Liverpool Street to Cheshunt/Enfield Town/Chingford. Travels through areas of London known for the textile trade, shaped by migrant communities. Maroon parallel lines on the map.

Suffragette: Gospel Oak to Barking Riverside. Honours the fight for votes for women, running to Barking, home of the longest-surviving suffragist, Annie Huggett, who died at 103. Green parallel lines on the map.

Liberty: Romford to Upminster. Referencing “the freedom that is a defining feature of London”, according to TfL, and the “historical independence of the people of Havering”, where it runs. Grey parallel lines on the map.

He’s one of the worst but he hasn’t had the opportunity to show whether he’s as awful as Adams in New York city, or the Chicago, San Francisco, Portland Oregon, or Los Angeles mayors. London is still in better shape than all those cities.

As if this was the top of the list problem in London…

Also, isn’t it interesting how these people do everything they can to shove wokeness down our throats with every opportunity? No one likes this, and yet they do it. Why are all the elites so hell bent on this? Where are the dissenters? I think it should be abundantly clear to everyone that the government has nothing in common with the people and is not fit for purpose.

I don’t think they believe that. I think they know how opposed we are to their plans. They just don’t care. They see their actions as necessary for the greater good, and that we’re mouth-breathers that don’t know any better and must be told how to live our lives.

Not at all Dinger. The intention is to rub our noses in ‘wokery’ knowing how badly it winds up good, honest, normal people.

I think the answer was given in a post yesterday.

https://miri.substack.com/p/hack-in-the-ussr

“One reason we’re in the mess we’re in is the demoralisation of society. DeMORALisation. Look at the word. When you strip a society of a defining morality, you produce an apathetic and inert populace who won’t fight for anything – you produce, for want of a better term, sheep. Dumb, herdable animals who will do whatever you want so long as you keep them warm and well-fed.”

The question was rhetorical, as 95% of the people frequenting this site more or less know the answer. But to add to it, it’s not just demoralisation. Yuri Bezmenov said it’s also about something else: humiliation. Imagine realising that these people have turned you into a veritable clown. They even got you dressing as one. You’re so far down the drain you’re spouting the most ridiculous things. What are you going to do? Take off the makeup and the clown nose and then spend the next 10 years being like “Yeah… they really got me there. Boy, was I saying and doing some ridiculous things, right? Ha, ha, joke’s on me, right?” Or are you going to double down and prop up a system that turns everyone into clowns that can no longer judge you?

It’s like Theon Greyjoy from Game of Thrones. If you humiliate someone to such a degree, there’s nothing that they would be too ashamed to do.

Also Khant here, telling the truth for once, lol….. And isn’t saying you’re anti-racist just the same as saying you’re racist against white people? Because the only people I ever see claim they’re ”anti-racist” are people who aren’t white!

”Labour’s Sadiq Khan says his party is “proud to be both anti-racist but also anti-Semitic.”

Quite the unfortunate Freudian slip!”

Interesting how fast he spoke in that clip. It was rushed as if he was worried to squeeze as many words into the answer as he could before the journalist pushed off.

Most odd. Why would anyone, and especially a politician rush his words when being interviewed?

The structure of government in this country is just not working.

Whoever thought: ‘I know, the answer to all our problems is more politicians’ was a total feckwit (Blair/Campbell, you know who I’m talking about).

Major constitutional reform is required.

Get rid of all mayors.

Reform devolution into a coherent federal arrangement.

Get rid of the house of lords and replace it with a professional independently appointed revising chamber.

The Conservatives promised to do much, if not all, of this.

They deserve to be dismissed even though the alternative is even worse.

Only when the country is plumbing the depths, requiring rescue by the IMF, can our politicians (and the general public) finally get their act together.

Sadly that won’t work and it is for one main reason.

The first place to make change is in Whitehall.

The people who block progress, block policy, stop anything working and who make sure nothing happens seem to me to all work in Whitehall. They are also the people primarily responsible for the spread of so much of the wokery inflicted on the country.

Whatever anyone thinks of Dominic Cummings he had the right idea when it came to Whitehall:

Cummings’s thinking is a potent challenge to the Whitehall system – and is likely to be opposed

This is the man in No 10 who inspired Cummings – and he didn’t last long

Off-topic, but there’s more here in this German article regarding the new law passed in France yesterday;

”Without much attention, a law was passed in France on Wednesday that could criminalize resistance to mRNA treatment. Anyone who advises against mRNA or other “medical treatments” that are “ obviously suitable” for treatment based on the current state of medical knowledge can in future be imprisoned in France for up to three years or receive a fine of up to 45,000 euros.

It was a hard-fought issue, but the Macron regime ultimately got its way. Article 4 is central to the new law, which was first deleted but then reinstated. This creates a new criminal offense and criminalizes the “ request to stop or refrain from therapeutic or prophylactic medical treatment” as well as “the request to use practices that are presented as therapeutic or prophylactic ”. This means that any resistance to mRNA treatment (and other corporate medical methods) can be criminalized in the future.

Now the Macron regime has implemented the plan and pushed through the “Pfizer amendment”. What is currently being experienced in France’s parliament is “blatant pre-fascism,” an observer based there tells TKP: “Punish, discipline, coerce everywhere.” The Pfizer article is another chapter. Who the new offense is aimed at became clear in the debate in Parliament. “The next pandemic is coming” was an argument that could be heard from the government.
Now the bill goes back to the Senate. There could also be resistance there, but the Macronists have ways to get around this.”

Possibly asking for trouble, using potential political names for line routes like that. As to the comment nearby about his own name not being used, it reminded me that there are many streets near where I live that are named after senior workers or councillors in the past – but they are all dead. It’s almost a tradition that they only use your name when you’re gone. The oddity in London of course is that the Elizabeth Line name was used when she was still alive.

I am sick to death of the relentless “Windrush Lie” being shoved down the throats of the British public. Windrush was the First Illegal Human Trafficking Operation, carried out without the knowledge or consent of Parliament or People.

The line should be named “The Illegal Human Trafficking Line”, and not one penny in “compensation” should ever be given to the Fake Windrush claimants.

To add insult to injury, Evil Communist Friend of Stalin Clement Attlee and his gang even threatened British war widows with heavy fines and imprisonment if they refused to welcome these African invaders into their own homes as “Bed & Breakfast” lodgers, occupying the empty beds of their sons and husbands slain in WW2.

That same filth Attlee also started rounding up 100,000 British children from poverty-stricken families and packing them off to Australia, refusing to let their parents go with them. Then he began importing 200,000 Africans to replace them. None of that is ever taught in schools.

Yes, and the lie that they were “needed” and “requested” is another outrage. There were reports at the time of British War Veterans being refused jobs such as transport work, which were preferentially handed to these Ethnic African Illegals.

“The Great Replacement” agenda has been going on for far longer than most people realise.
