Controversial education charity Educate and Celebrate that encouraged three-year-old toddlers to question their gender and wanted to replace ‘Sir’ and ‘Miss’ with gender-neutral terms in schools has mysteriously shut down. The Mail has the story.
LGBTQ+ charity Educate and Celebrate was founded by Dr. Elly Barnes, a teacher who received an MBE for her contribution to equality and diversity in education but has since seen her charity and herself rocked by scandal.
When it was running, Educate and Celebrate said it hoped to “embed gender, gender identity and sexual orientation into the fabric” of organisations including primary schools.
However, after a series of controversies – from encouraging three-year-olds to question their gender to pushing to replace ‘Sir’ and ‘Miss’ with gender-neutral terms – the charity has shut down.
Its latest accounts reveal a deficit between expenditure and income of more than £30,000.
The charity formally asked to close itself down on January 3rd. It will now be removed as a registered charity on the Government website in three months.
When approached by MailOnline, the charity wouldn’t confirm the exact reason it had shut down but suggested its work was not finished.
The chair of trustees Julie Bremner – who was a civil servant for 31 years – said: “It was our decision to close the charity.
“We are all long serving teachers, school leaders and academics who have dedicated our careers to inclusion in education.
“We will continue our much-needed work through new projects.” …
In 2017, the charity put books encouraging children to question their gender on their reading lists for nurseries and primary schools – meaning kids as young as three would be reading them.
Just last year, a teacher was filmed reading children one of the books at a school in St Albans. …
In 2021, the charity became embroiled in a bitter dispute between a fee-paying boarding school and a Christian chaplain who was sacked [after] refusing to chant “smash heteronormativity”.
Reverend Dr. Bernard Randall, 51, from Long Eaton, Derbyshire, did not join in the “chant” when urged to do so by the leader of Educate and Celebrate Dr. Elly Barnes during a session at the independent Trent College in Long Eaton, Derbyshire.
Worth reading in full.

£30,000 gone missing from this “charity”? Just like the £30,000 that went missing from the BLM “charity” in Bristol, for which Muslim organiser Xahra Saleem was jailed for two years. She was heavily involved in vandalising the historic statue of Edward Colston, dumped into Bristol Harbour. Of course, that was a drop in the bucket compared to the $10 million siphoned off by the BLM “executive”.
Build Larger Mansions!
Appalling that the Reverend Bernard Randall was actually reported to the Counter-terrorism unit “Prevent”, and lost his employment tribunal case for unfair dismissal, for refusing to chant “smash heteronormativity”, and for telling pupils, “You do not have to accept the ideas of LGBT activists.”
It really shows that Mao’s “Long March through the Institutions” is alive and well in the West.
Mao’s Long March was a retreat of communist Chinese military from nationalist Chinese forces in 1934 – 1936. March through the instituations is a the notion the (pseudo-)revolutionary left in the West came up with in the 1970s after it had become clear that the mythical Revolution wasn’t going to happen.
So just like the evil “Common Purpose” subversives, admirably exposed by former Royal Navy officer Brian Gerrish of the UK Column.
I was at university with a marxist who is a prominent SWP member; he has been accused of hijacking Black Lives Matter. An ex public schoolboy, his father’s chauffeur used to drive him to and from university…….
Incredible. Just like the letters of Karl Marx to his friend, gloating over the expected demise of a wealthy relative and resulting inheritance, so Marx would never have to work again. Not that he ever did, mind…
Ok, lets get down to brass tacks here. Most of these idiots would, I’m sure benefit from a good-hiding from an irate parent or twain. At the very least, they should ‘feel the sting of the lash across their pitiful shoulders’. (John Kennedy Toole. ‘A Confederacy of Dunces.’)
A truly wonderful book. The protagonist, Ignatius J. Reilly is a loathsome, pompous know-it-all of little merit who looks down with scorn on everyone but himself. We’ve seen quite a few of them recently.
Yes, a sad tale. JKT topped himself at age 31 having failed to get ‘Confederacy’ published. His tenacious mother got it printed posthumously for him and it won the Pulitzer prize for fiction. Many stop/start attempts to make the book into a film have been mooted, but have never come to anything. John Candy was born to play the part of Ignatius, but alas died before any progress was made. Ignatius and ‘Jones’ were creations of genius.
..and good riddance to it!
It doesn’t look like it’s “good riddance”. This is like those takeaways that get closed down for poor hygiene but open up a few weeks later under a different name, with the same poor hygiene.
I would have liked to hear that they had to shut down cause they’re all going to prison for child grooming, but I’ll take the “win” anyways.
Gone bust? Ooh dear, how sad, never mind.
What a bizarre chant; it hardly rolls of the tongue. I also doubt heteronormativity is a real word.
I imagine that they intend it to mean the normal or usual (-normative) thinking (-ity) that there are two alternative sexes (hetero-)… and that they wish to smash that thinking.
What they seem to be inadvertently acknowledging is that it is normal or usual to think that there are only two sexes.
Heteronormativity
Suggests that your proclivity
For pink coiffures and surgical cures
Is somewhat strange activity
How did you know about my proclivity?
Uh. Oh!
Oops!
“I also doubt heteronormativity is a real word.” I guess it’s a real word now in so far as some people use the word and I suppose for those that use it, it means something. But it’s certainly a made-up word designed to introduce an alien, delusional concept and make it seem normal. Language matters.
“an alien, delusional concept and make it normal”
Ah, that would be xenonormativity we need to smash.
Lol
I suppose they will start identifying as aliens soon, if they haven’t already
It’s supposed to refer to the undesirable state that it’s considered normal for men to be interested in women and vice versa just because that’s true for the by far overwhelming majority of people who are thus suppressing the others by implicitly denying them normality. To me, seriously worrying about things defined in such contorted ways would indicate a mental disorder. As cure, I suggest to force alphabet-soup people convinced of this to live in some state where same-sex relationships are still officially supressed for a while, say, Saudi-Arabia. This will enable them to appreciate us being willing to tolerate their somewhat outlandish hobbies much better.
An excellent analysis
I guess it’s sort of natural to want to feel you are normal or be recognised as normal but in my experience learning to be yourself and not worry too much about what other people might think about that is much more likely to lead to happiness- provided you’re not just behaving like an arse to everyone else
Rev Randall was dismissed by Trent College after the school flagged him to the government’s Prevent programme for giving a sermon that was ‘harmful to LGBT’ students.
And what did he actually say?
In the sermon he had told the children they were not compelled to ‘accept an ideology they disagree with’, adding that it is, ‘perfectly legitimate to think that marriage should only properly be understood as being a lifelong exclusive union of a man and a woman’.
This principally reflecting the legal reality in the UK of no more than 12 years ago. It’s a strange democracy where people are no longer allowed to voice the opinion that certain laws are wrong or even campaign for them to be changed.
Interesting question: Considering that the sole activity of this (Qua-)NGO was brainwashing children into the political position of the alphabet-soup people running it, how could it have become a charity, ie, which charitable activities did it perform? Furthering the political self-interest of the LGBXYZ-lobby surely can’t have been it, can it?
From the charity’s own accounts, one of the charity’s major funders had been BBC Children in Need. It’s possible that they have stopped funding them; they are not listed as a beneficiary on the Children in Need website.
The £30K “deficit” is nothing sinister; charities are not required to generate a surplus of income over spending every year, and usually some years have surpluses and some years have deficits.
No, nothing sinister at all….after a “series of controversies”
““We are all long serving teachers, school leaders and academics who have dedicated our careers to inclusion in education.”

No wonder respect for the teaching profession has tanked.
We’re all employed by schools despite we emphatically don’t want to teach children anything useful! But we have a load of extreme political opinions located at the outer fringes of what’s still legal in this society and we surely want to preach about these!
In an ideal universe, people openly stating that their professional career is dedicated to general politics instead of what they’re supposedly being paid for would be sufficient grounds to fire them all.
This ‘Doctor’ received an MBE??!! She/it/they should be on the Sex Offenders List….
Maybe, that’s nowadays mostly the same.
So, a University “professor”, teaching transgenderism at a University in Canada, tells a panel that there is “no such thing as biological sex” (4.12). Once upon of time this maniac would have been barred from teaching, but now…
