Life Guru AI as a sponsor! “The wisdom of AI” is absolute nonsense. Certainly artificial, definitely not intelligent, most certainly not wise.
Is it me or is Toby’s conservatism straying too often into the realms of Conservatism? The result is seeming ‘a bit dull’. Also, Nick could be more forceful – ‘semite’ naturally becomes ‘semitic’, not ‘semEtic’. One can tell that Toby has many great skills, but isn’t great at languages. It’s great to have Will’s report on the podcast, so what about having a variety of guest slots? People in the news…
Good points. Will is understated, but brief and highly effective.
Sadly, Toby’s been lost. A guy I used to admire massively has just become a talking head for the establishment. He’s got a platform to try to turn some of the sceptical thinking, which is what I believe he’s been tasked to do. It’s not working.
Toby said that the Dublin child stabber was stopped by the Brazilian, however, I have read that he was 3rd on the scene and arrived after Warren Donohue had disarmed the Algerian.
Not only is Tommy Robinson more sinned against than sinning, but it eludes me what his sin is at all.
Toby was tying himself in knots trying to find some reason why the plod felt he might have done wrong.
Until I watched his Oxford Union address recently, I had the lazy view repeated by our wonderful media ad-nauseam.
He came across quite well and my view has changed. It seems he’s walked into a few traps set for him while trying to get results. Luton looks it it’s been absolutely ruined in his lifetime.
I feel he’s right to be angry at his treatment by the police and also at the cowardice of our leaders, but he’s not ‘far right’.
Tommy’s crime was that he stepped out of line and managed to remain there.
Just listened to the programme and want to query Toby’s 100 years of peace between 1815 to 1914 – what about the 1870/71 Franco-Prussian war? Italian wars of independence (something about the French being in Rome or Naples 1860s). Revolutions of 1848 etc. Need to revisit that bit of “historical fact” please.
