Hi Nick and Toby, about the mass shooter, it’s quite possible that many of these shootings in America are carried out by people who have been prescribed a toxic soup of SSRI’s, and are simply out of their minds
Also, with female to male transition, biological women who are taking testosterone are also likely to be out of their minds
No, Toby, it is not “distasteful” to question the catalogue of coincidental security failures that led to Hamas running riot in Israel, resulting in over 1400 deaths. You may find it deeply ‘uncomfortable’ that questions are being raised about complicity and whether Israel and its allies have something to gain, but to describe anyone that’s raised an eyebrow as “distasteful” seems to use the leftist tactic of shaming in order to shut down conversation. Not something I’d expect from you. Would you rather we simply stopped asking questions and trusted authority? You know, like lockdowns, covid, war & climate – they all cost thousands/millions of lives too. But this one we’re not allowed to question? Hmmm.
It might be interesting to question how consistent your logic is respect this, so lets draw an analogy: I know from listening to your podcasts with Nick & James that you do not believe in any of the conspiracy theories surrounding 9/11. You might be right. I don’t think you are, but you might be. Surely though, using your logic you must find these theories not interesting or worthy of investigation, but “distasteful”? After all, people died, and possibly with the US being complicit in some way. Now, let’s say you agree that, using your logic, that 9/11 conspiracy theories are distasteful; using the inverse of your logic, you surely cannot find the criminality of the Iraq war as distasteful, as you must be declaring that the conspiracies are hollow and the act of war justified based upon retaliation after provocation not being distasteful (even if WMD were never found). There might be a small strawman in that second argument, but the point is how you define what’s “distasteful” or not.
I’ll be surprised if you believe that all 9/11 conspiracies are distasteful AND see the war crimes committed by Bush & Brown as not distasteful.
Much as I admire Toby’s wonderful work, hearing his milksop reactions to the problem of Islam taking over the UK via ‘demographic destiny’ makes me want to deport HIM. He’s just passing the buck to his children.
Interesting and entertaining episode as ever.
But Dixon let Young off far too easily re the possible hinterland of Islamist culture in (but not of) this country. There were other strong counter-points that could have been made.
Toby Young should be made to debate Douglas Murray, live in public, on this one. Whoever loses has to go and live in Tower Hamlets for a year.
Usually, I agree with Toby Young, however, I think that his analysis of Islam in the UK is inaccurate.
Stating that there are probably only 200,000 or 300,000 Moslems that hate our culture fails to take in to account that probably 10 times as many would side with them if they were forced to choose the rule of UK law or the rule of God.
Furthermore, given the damage done in the past by a handful of determined zealots any sort of revolt even by 100’s or 1000’s is a very concerning prospect.
It is also worth noting that the total headcount of the police and armed forces in the UK is about 300,000.
In response to Toby saying that Islam is no problem….The problem is WE WERE NOT ASKED. In the 1990s I was a teenager and we had manageable levels of immigration. mark Steyn once again was right. And as somebody mentioned below, why dump these problems on the next generation, they have enough thanks to the Globalists & cultural Marxists!
