“Promotion of Claire Coutinho hints at more conservative approach to Net Zero”

Seeing as the whole of the problem is in the word’s “net zero” how can this make a blind bit of difference? Fudging, pretence and lies as usual I presume.

Anyone who believes the basic premise, that CO2 is the controlling influence on the climate of our planet, and controlling CO2 is the secret to our survival, is by my reckoning an ignorant or malevolent fool. Finding ‘easier ways’ for us to be Nett Zero, isn’t the problem. It is that they think this insanity, based on the flimsiest of evidence, is even necessary in the first place. The fact that 70% of the world wants nothing to do with it, ought to tell you that.

It will cost huge amounts so it will not be possible to “shield people” from it. If you continue with Net Zero it will have to be paid for.

initially that may be through even higher taxes and borrowing. As time goes on it will seriously damage the economy, Society and our health. The people cannot be shielded and, as usual, the poor will suffer most. The very wealthy friends of politicians likely will continue to fan and those of us in the middle will just keep seeing our income and savings depleted.

there is no third way to finance a costly damaging policy.

Well this is going to open a whole new can of worms.

Ugh. Sorry.

“Close ally of Rishi Sunak believes in green agenda but wants to shield people from the huge financial costs, reports the Telegraph.”

Right, sounds great, doesn’t it? Until you consider this – how exactly will the government shield us from these huge costs? Ah yes – they will use our money to do it! You have to be exceptionally dense to fall for this.

OK, so other consumers directly or everyone via taxes will subsidise this.

The number of people who don’t understand what money is and where material prosperity comes from is frightening.

I made it to the age of 50 or so without grasping that banks create “money” whenever they make a loan.

Yes, me too. My daughter studied economics and I started taking an interest then. But I don’t think I ever believed that money has intrinsic value or that prosperity comes from anything but hard work with a bit of luck, talent, innovation and natural resources thrown in.
I’m not as down on the idea of fractional reserve banking and fiat money as some people – I think they have served us well but are open to abuse. It doesn’t seem to me that the alternatives would fully harness human talents to improve our lot. But I am an amateur.
Some basic economics ought to be taught in schools quite early on, as part of a “how the world works” subject area – but given that schools have been taken over by the left, I dread to think what they’d teach them.

Stroke risks and ultra processed food – isn’t this just another way of diverting attention away from the real culprit for the rise in strokes and cardiovascular events? No, it’s nothing to do with that jab you had, but everything to do with you eating an occasional pot noodle…

Do you think they’d get away with this in the UK? Apparently racism is not ‘racism’ when it’s white people being discriminated against due to their skin colour. This is more ‘Proof Your Government Hates You’, the German edition;

”A German museum of industrial heritage in Dortmund only allows “Black, Indigenous and People of Color” to enter the museum on Saturdays between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. for the “That’s Colonial” exhibition, with the prohibition sparking claims of racism.
The Zollern Colliery museum argues it is a “safer space” intended to protect people of color from “further discrimination.”

The exclusive access is “an offer for BIPoC and black people to be able to withdraw and exchange ideas openly,” reads the museum’s website. “For BIPoC, such safe spaces are rarely found in everyday life or in museum rooms.”
The exhibit partly focuses on racial grievances, with the introduction to the exhibition on the website writing: “The morning cup of coffee (referring to how coffee was obtained through colonial exploitation), a street name or certain prejudices: Colonial history is still present in our everyday lives – even in Westphalia.”

A small team belonging to Antenne Frei radio station filmed themselves trying to enter the museum, but were blocked because they are White people.
The employees struggled to explain why their prohibition was not racism when confronted by a host from the radio station.”

And white people can’t be indigenous (the only exception I’m aware of being the Sami, presumably because they have significant Mongoloid ancestry), even though we’ve been on this archipelago far, far longer than the Navajo, Zulus and Maoris have been in their current locations.

Two years for burning the Koran eh? We must all give Islam special consideration when practicing free speech it seems. More proof that Islam is winning and conquering Europe without bombs or bullets;

”It’s not bad to be in Europe, and not in Pakistan, where a similar law has just been introduced in Parliament (they are just more ambitious, 10 years instead of 2).
Inger Støjberg, who was immigration minister between 2015 and 2019 and now leads the opposition Danish Democrats party, said “1-0 for Muslims” and that “the unfree forces in the Middle East have got a win today. Now they see that they can dictate our lifestyle, because we have a government that bows to threats and pressure.”

In Sweden, too, everything is ready for a sharia-style law about the Koran.
The city of Malmö (Sweden’s third largest) has just launched the “50 new flags” project to strengthen the city’s “multicultural identity”. There are flying the flag of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Turkey and other Muslim countries. Many, many crescents.
And now full speed ahead into the future. The future is now. Indeed, it reminds us of the totalitarian past we would like to forget.

“On a sunny morning, six plainclothes police officers broke into a small flat in Amsterdam. Their prey: a skinny Dutch cartoonist with a rough sense of humor. Informed that he was suspected of having carried out offensive designs on Muslims, the Dutchman surrendered without offering any resistance”.

This is crazy. ‘Proof Your Government Favours Illegal Immigrants’ the UK edition;

”Students at an English university who had signed accommodation agreements set to begin in September have been told to find somewhere else to live after the building was taken over by the Home Office to house illegal migrants.

A total of 168 students had already made payments to the landlord ahead of moving into the luxury HD1 studio flats to start attending their university courses next month; some students had already been residing in the apartment building after extending their stay from last year.
However, the property manager, Prestige Student Living, has now confirmed that their agreements have been “terminated with immediate effect.”

The luxury student accommodation comprises “boutique studio rooms” with a “comfy bed, private en-suite bathroom, a large study space, ample storage space, and modern kitchenette,” according to a website advertising the accommodation. It boasts, among other things, a cinema room, a games area, a gym, and a communal lounge.”

‘at residential schools across Canada, nothing has turned up, says the New York Times.”. Umm. No. This links to the NY Post, which has somewhat more old fashioned ideas about news reporting.

The day the NY Times admits this would be a shocking day indeed.
