Here We Go Again… Experts Call for Universal Booster Campaign Amid Claims Pirola Variant “Could Overwhelm NHS”

by Will Jones
31 August 2023 7:27 PM

Here we go again. According to the Mail, “experts” (from Independent SAGE, naturally) have called for everyone to be eligible for another Covid booster amid fears the new “concerning” Pirola Covid variant could overwhelm the NHS.

Some pharmacies have also already run out of Covid tests, as health officials urged Brits to stay alert to the new strain.

It comes less than 24 hours after health officials U-turned again on the autumn Covid and flu jab drive start date, bringing it forwards from October to September 11th.

And in another sign the authorities are taking the heavily mutated strain, Pirola, known scientifically as BA.2.86, more seriously, officials also confirmed Covid testing and community surveillance would be “scaled up” ahead of this winter.

But MPs today called for calm and warned against “running down any rabbit holes of fear”.

There is currently no evidence that Pirola is any more of a threat than the dozens of strains that have come before it.

But scientists have called for a return of pandemic mitigation measures, including mask wearing, and increased ventilation because of the virus’ resurgence.

Dr. Trisha Greenhalgh, an internationally-renowned expert in primary care [and noted Covid alarmist], based at the University of Oxford, also suggested everyone should be made eligible for a jab.

The professor, who is also a member of Independent SAGE, a group of academics that called for No. 10 to adopt an Australian-style Covid elimination strategy early on in the pandemic, tweeted: “Might be a good idea to vaccinate everyone.”

Others have instead urged Ministers to re-consider vaccine eligibility criteria, after the Government ditched plans earlier this month to offer the jabs to under-65s this winter.

Professor Lawrence Young, a virologist at Warwick University, told MailOnline: “It stresses the need to keep an eye on Covid infections as we enter the autumn and winter.

“With people returning to work and schools reopening after the summer break, we need to raise awareness of the risks of infection particularly for the most vulnerable.

“The Government should expedite the autumn vaccination campaign and extend this to people below the age of 65.

“There should also be more public information alerting folk to the fact that Covid has not gone away and that other mitigations — face masks, increased ventilation — will be necessary over the coming months.”

Health officials are spooked by Covid strain, Pirola, that is quickly spreading globally due to its catalogue of mutations.

BA.2.86 carries an array of more than 30 mutations on its spike protein, which is the part of the virus that vaccines were designed to target.

Several have unknown functions but others are thought to help the virus evade the immune system.

Earlier this month, UKHSA advisers admitted the variant was a concern and revealed its “rapid appearance” suggested “established international transmission”.

Just to make sure we get the point, the Mail kindly embeds a clip of Sir Jeremy Farrar from the Covid Inquiry telling us we’re living in a “pandemic age”. With Farrar now Chief Scientist at the World Health Organisation – the international body with the sole power to declare a pandemic – one suspects this may be a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Give it a rest, will you.

Craig Mackinlay, MP for South Thanet, attempted to inject some calm into the mounting hysteria. He told MailOnline:

New Covid fears on the back of a new potential variant are already becoming over-inflated.

With the Covid Inquiry not likely to report for some years the best we can do is look at countries like Sweden and some U.S. states that didn’t have such an extreme response to the Covid period.

I certainly hope we won’t be running down any rabbit holes of fear and hyperbole this time. We need to treat Covid in whatever new form it takes as just another form of flu.

The country cannot afford further lockdowns or for the NHS to grind to a halt.

Probably not worth reading in full.

In the US it is the 4 year election-scariant.
Mail in votes, ballot stuffing, db record flipping – there is nothing the election-scariant can’t do.

Should the government adopt any of this, public mass compliance of the masses of bandwagonists can be taken for granted who’ll continue to break every COVID rule in private, just as they did before. Only singles, care home residents and pupils will again be thoroughly f***ed. Unimportant minorities, thankfully.

HIV, Polio, Swine flu, Opioids, the normal stabs – endless array of drugs….During the scamdemic I researched some specific counties and cities – in most places including our own town, more people died from opioid overdoses than from Rona.
Add in Midazolam, Remdesivir, Morphine….

DM have pretty much recycled yesterday’s article under a new headline – perhaps because yesterday’s version attracted many hundreds of btl comments suggesting various imaginative and novel uses for the vax. Which are being repeated today. I do hope the responses are being fed back to E77wood’s chums.

Good luck trying to get the public to take yet another covid booster.

Not happening. Not en masses anyway.

They might be able to force it some poor care home residents but that’s about it I reckon.

Sadly, I have to disagree – a group I hang out with every week (mainly superannuated retirees) are salivating over their forthcoming flu and covid jab appointments and I’ve noticed a marked uptick in mask wearing in public. I also have a chum (retired district nurse) who is gearing up for another assault on the poor nursing home inmates. It’s really disheartening.

Another scariant requires another newly-tweaked bioweapon. The bit the scamsters don’t want you to know though is that the XBOXOMG1.5+ has now left the building so the death jabs are already obsolete. Instead it has been eclipsed by the BS/FFS365.24.7++ version, which I fear will be with us for some time.

”The EU’s drug watchdog on Wednesday approved an updated version of Pfizer and BioNTech‘s anti-Covid jab to counter an infectious subvariant of the virus as winter approaches.
The World Health Organisation in May said it no longer considered Covid-19 a global health emergency, but the virus is still circulating — and new variants are being tracked.
The European Medicines Agency said it “has recommended authorising an adapted Comirnaty vaccine targeting the Omicron XBB.1.5 subvariant”.

The EMA in June recommended that vaccines be updated to target the XBB strain of the virus which have become dominant in Europe and other parts of the world.
Known as Comirnaty Omicron XBB.1.5, the mRNA vaccine is to be used to prevent Covid-19 in adults and children from six months.
Adults and children over five require a single shot “irrespective of their Covid-19 vaccination history” while younger children may get “one or three doses depending on whether they have completed a primary vaccination course or have had Covid-19” the Amsterdam-based EMA said.”

Oh and this doesn’t look remotely suss does it? I mean, those pesky product info inserts that we’ve been fine with for umpteen years now are suddenly not to be tolerated? Don’t know if this will be rolled out in other countries or just Australia…

”From 1 September 2023, printed Product Information (PI) inserts won’t be required in the packaging of injectable medicines administered by health professionals. Approved PIs for all these products will still need to be available on our website.

This change only affects injectable products administered by health professionals. This includes nurses, pharmacists and doctors. Vaccines are an example of injectable medicines administered by health professionals.
Injectable products used by patients or their carers will still come with a copy of the PI.
This decision follows public consultation and feedback from stakeholders, including industry and health professionals.
PIs provide scientific information about the safe and effective use of prescription medicines. They are mainly used by healthcare professionals.”

Plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose.
The worrying thing is that I would predict that it will still be the same 15% (roughly) who see through all the bollocks, but that the remaining 85% will go along with whatever the media and government tells them.

Sad – and I hope that I am proved to be very mistaken.

This is a superb easy to understand summary of fundamental virology/immunology as it applies to SARS – and every other UR viral infection.
ALL doctors and medics should be made to read it.
I’d say the same for our wonderful M.P.’s – but doubt that they have the necessary intellect to understand any of it.

I particularly don’t care about the War with Russia! scare stories Biden’s opponents are employing all the time. Theses are probably the descendants of the faction which helped to esablish the Russian panislavist empire in eastern middle Europe after the 2nd world war.
