Spanish football Chief Luis Rubiales has sent FIFA a copy of newly released footage showing the women’s football team celebrating and joking about his infamous kiss with Jenni Hermoso. In it, her team mates chant “kiss kiss” causing her to laugh as he declines: “Stop, you’re making me blush!”. The Mail has the story.
The clip was uploaded on to X, formerly Twitter, by journalist Alvise Perez and in it Jenni Hermoso can be seen laughing at a meme of her being kissed by Rubiales.
He has since been given a 90-day ban by FIFA and Spain are looking to kick him out of his role, but he has defiantly refused to quit and even his mum has gone on hunger strike to defend him.
Now it has emerged he has sent the video to FIFA HQ to try and clear his name and a source close to him told MailOnline: “This video is gold dust for Rubiales.
“All along we have said for Jenni to tell the truth. There was no sexual assault. If there was why was she laughing and joking?
“She waited more than three days to make a complaint, if she was that offended why not say something straight away and why joke about it with team mates?” …
Suspended Spanish FA chief Rubiales is seeking to defend himself against allegations he committed sexual aggression.
Hermoso was filmed laughing out loud as she showed off a screen grab on her mobile featuring the now-infamous kiss just over a week ago, alongside a photo of former Spanish international Iker Casillas locking lips with reporter and his then-girlfriend Sara Carbonero as she interviewed him live after the men’s team won the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
Days later, Hermoso denounced it as a “sexist act” that left her vulnerable.
Another woman on the team bus was overheard laughing: “Like Iker and Sarah” as Jenni continued to show off her phone.
And a second unidentified female said: “Long live the story” as the player now being urged by Luis’s hunger-striking mum Angeles Bejar to tell the truth drank Cava straight from a bottle.
Jenni, who is being invited by state prosecutors to second a potential criminal prosecution of Rubiales over his controversial action, continued to grin as she responded: “Haven’t you seen it?” before indicating how the kiss which has sparked the ‘kissgate’ scandal occurred.
Many of Jenni’s 23 team-mates who have said they will refuse to play again for the national team until Rubiales is history, were then filmed singing “Beso, beso” – Spanish for “Kiss, Kiss” – as the suspended football chief got on the bus before telling the women jokingly: “Stop, you’re making me blush!”
The leaked footage appeared alongside the hard-hitting message: “Let’s begin @Jennihermoso.
“1) Why were you showing off with your teammates and posing as you laughed with the meme of your short kiss with Rubiales?
“2) Why are all your team-mates who now say they’re scandalised shouting with you at Rubiales ‘Kiss’ on the bus after seeing the peck on the lips?
“3) Why did you ask Rubiales jokingly for a kiss on the bus, and why did you laugh when he replied, ‘No, you’re making me blush?’
“I don’t want you to ‘say the truth’ because Spain today knows it.
“I want you to go to prison.”

The offendatrons always get exposed as hypocrites…..
She’s obviously really put out. Such trauma…
This video will make not a blind bit of difference because the kiss has been declared ideologically bad and what people may have felt, or an accurate recollection of the circumstances cannot make a dent in an ideological guilty verdict. Indeed trying to defend yourself can only make it worse.
Yawn

I think perhaps people aren’t grasping the importance and magnitude of this moment.
I am not aware of anyone anywhere who has taken on this amount of pressure head on like this guy for an “offence” of this type.
The establishment assumed that the man would resign and accept the public lynching like most people do and their anger and attacks on him have escalated as he’s stood his ground. How dare he. FIFA threatened to ban him and have increased the period of time they are threatening him with in retaliation for his defiance. Even the bloody UN has chipped in putting pressure on him to resign.
The global institutional mafia is not reacting well to someone having the temerity to stand up to them and making them look like the mindless thugs they are. They don’t care that he hasn’t actually done anything. Actually, it’s worse. It probably terrifies them that they’ll all like the cretins they are rushing to judge and contribute to a public lynching of someone who is basically innocent of the “crime” they are pinning on him. Which is actually no crime at all.
His mother has gone on hunger strike in his defence until his public lynching stops.
Regardless of what one thinks of him professionally – and everyone in Spain knows he has made plenty of enemies – if this guy somehow turns it around it will be an historic moment.
“Even the bloody UN has chipped in…”
What about Greta? She must have something ‘important’ to say?
Excellent post

The gates are closing.
Thanks for keeping it real and relevant to what the ethos of DS is all about, huxtable. I always appreciate people sharing snippets of interest they come across willy nilly, and to hell with where you care to post them!

So mogs is a woman? Hux?
Have you heard of Eva Vladingerbrock!?
Am I the only one missing what relevance this non-issue of an article has here on DS? Is it really such a news-light day that this is all you can find to share, Will? And people moan when I do my off-territory dumps! Sheesh..
It fits a channel that is sceptical about the official narrative on most subjects.
Wrong answer. Take something more relevant and interesting instead. Get your laughing gear around this;
”3 x ULEZ Scameras sprayed Two in Orpington & One in Bromley
The new cable protection boxes being put up makes it not so easy to just snip the wires, so it’s spray the lens or full removal of camera from now on #BladeRunners

There has been a fair bit of negative coverage on the expanded ULEZ scheme on GBN today, including a couple of clips of Sunak criticising Khan, and the Labour Party as a whole on the issue. Of course, he avoided mentioning the fact that old Johnson had something to do with it when he was Mayor.
Totally agree and let’s have the 8 people who don’t agree setting out some arguments rather hiding behind the red thumbs down
I think Stewart’s comment above nails it, as did Nick and Tobes in today’s podcast. It might seem like a non-issue but it’s really important in the fightback against all the corrupt woke ideology we’re being bombarded with all the time. Every single push back, every single hard-won court and tribunal case, every refusal to be intimidated or to back down, and every single line in the sand – each in its own way helps to resist the tsunami of wokerati nonsense that’s attempting to break us apart as decent human beings. And I don’t even like football, whoever is playing.
What’s with all the downticks?
Perfect common sense appraisal as far as I can see!
So this ULEZ tyranny is going to be spread all across the UK? Yes the Bladerunners will totally need a proper recruitment drive.
”Deputy leader of the British Labour Party, Angela Rayner, admits that London’s ULEZ scheme is “coming to towns and cities across the whole of the United Kingdom”.
The Ultra Low Emission Zone is an area in London, England where people are charged a daily fee of up to £17.50 for driving cars that don’t meet arbitrary “minimum emissions standards”, essentially making driving an unaffordable luxury for everybody except those who can afford a newer or electric vehicles.
All part of the Net Zero agenda to severely restrict people’s freedom of movement—confining them to ’15 minute cities’ in the process—under the guise of combatting the non-existent “climate crisis”.”

Interesting question: Who spoke to Hermoso in the intermediate three days to convince her it would be in her own best interest to make a complaint as such an opportunity for one shouldn’t be wasted?
Excellent point that if answered would be very revealing
For many, many centuries Christians have been defeating Muslims in bloody battles but who is going to fight our battle against the depressingly continuous invasion of Muslims in these modern times when the numbers of people who identify as Christians are dwindling? It sure as hell isn’t our world leaders. Richard Lionheart would have something to say about this disastrous mess!
”Britain can no longer call itself a Christian country and the Church of England must liberalize to remain relevant in an increasingly secular and skeptical society, a majority of clergymen have claimed.
A landmark poll conducted by The Times newspaper revealed the pressure felt by many priests across the country at a time when the percentage of residents living in England and Wales who identify as Christian has dropped to below half to 46 percent for the first time.
Just 24.2 percent of respondents answered “Yes” when asked whether they believe that Britain could still describe itself as a Christian country. On the contrary, 64.2 percent answered “Only historically, not currently,” and 9.2 percent replied “No.”
Fewer than half of respondents (43.9 percent) were adamant their church would still be holding a Sunday service in 10 years’ time, although 20.9 percent did say it was “fairly likely.” However, 9.5 percent thought it “fairly unlikely,” 4.9 percent believed it to be “very unlikely,” and 6.1 percent revealed their local church had already ceased to host worship every Sunday.
Similarly, two-thirds of priests (66.7 percent) believe the dwindling of church attendance will continue over the next decade, with just one in ten (10.5 percent) confident that the number of churchgoers will increase.”

This is about a man giving a women and unwanted kiss? Where does this fit in with the big issues of the day?
”Unwanted kiss”?? We actual women have bigger things to worry about!
https://twitter.com/MalesInDisguise/status/1696891065142259829
Yes, that is a real world issue.
How do you know it was unwanted?
Issues – cancel culture, sense of proportion, who has their hands on the levers of power and why
The people who think this is a non story were right at the outset when it was being whipped up into a story by god knows who exactly. And their disdain for it being a story would have been appropriate if directed at those who have turned it into a big story.
And if the man had gone quietly it would have been yet another story about someone getting cancelled and his career trampled over nothing. Horrible and unfair, but sadly pretty mundane and one of many.
But it’s morphed into a story about someone standing up to cancellation in the most public, stubborn and seemingly heroic way and the rabid brutal reaction of the establishment to this.
In the realm of man having his career destroyed over bogus sexual abuse accusations there is simply no precedent and the outcome means a lot.
But people will only appreciate this if they have followed the evolution of the story or take the care to understand that it’s not just a silly storm over a man kissing a woman.
It has of course been all over the BBC Sport website- but I cannot find a mention of the video referred to in this story….
Women’s football has done a lot to get on a more even footing with the men, and have excited many people around the world with the latest competition, and now they’ve gone and blown all the good will with this seeming witch hunt, and blowing a spur of the moment behavior out of all proportion.
O/T, but the reader comments on DM’s latest vax promo “fears new ‘real deal’ Pirola variant could overwhelm the NHS” are a true joy and warm your heart. “Shove it” seems to be the (polite version) general opinion.
Thanks for the news.
Prick yourself, prick! would be by suggestion.
I see the grand plan of naming all the different variants in alphabetical order didn’t last long.
Mogs…Meloni? Go figure
Dutch my arse!
Rubiales does seem to have problems understanding acceptable boundaries. I have no interest in seeing the man lynched for an unwanted kiss (Jenni looks drunk in this video; when I was flashed at, at first I laughed it off, was fearful days later when it sunk in), but who the heck thinks it’s appropriate to grab their crotch whilst in the box with the Queen of Spain and her young daughter?
Do you realize that it’s possible to get stupid shots of just about everyone in public when making enough of them? For all we know, the guy was mechanically scratching an itch at that time and that was a 0.01s part of the movement. Photographs intentionally taken out of context are just as decptive as quotes intentionally taken out of context.
I am more or less ambivalent about the entire affair but all I’ll say is: I’ve never been kissed on the lips by any man that I’ve worked with and I work in an industry with a lot of men, making the female squad sleep with their dorm doors open is a gross infringement on privacy by anyone’s standards, and finally Spain is a country the legal system of which deems rape only rape if violence is involved. I don’t think boundaries is their strong point.
