Khan’s Deputy Urged Scientists to Alter Study Showing Emissions Scheme Had No Impact on Child Health

by Richard Eldred
23 August 2023 1:00 PM

London’s Deputy Mayor, Shirley Rodrigues, is accused of trying to alter a Lancet study’s conclusion that found no health benefits for children from the city’s low emissions zone. The Telegraph has the story.

Emails seen by the Telegraph show that Shirley Rodrigues, London’s Deputy Mayor, asked if Professor Chris Griffiths, of Queen Mary University of London, could “reword” the study’s conclusion that found “no evidence” of health benefits to children’s lungs.

Ms. Rodrigues complained: “It reads like Lez (low emissions zones) or similar have no impact at all.”

In the private exchange from November 2018, Prof Griffiths refused the request, replying to Ms. Rodrigues: “Apologies – it’s difficult to alter the sentence you refer to as it’s what we set out to look for but didn’t find.”

The study was published unaltered the following day in the respected journal the Lancet Public Health, concluding: “Despite these improvements in air quality, there was no evidence of improvements in the proportion of children with small lungs or asthma symptoms over this period.”

The correspondence comes to light just days after the Telegraph revealed how Mr. Khan’s deputy tried to discredit and ‘silence’ Imperial College scientists, who found that the ultra-low emissions zone (Ulez) had little impact on pollution.

Mr. Khan is pushing ahead with expansion of Ulez, which will charge motorists in all 32 boroughs £12.50 per day to drive polluting vehicles from August 29th.

Councillor Paul Osborn, leader of Harrow Council which is fighting the Ulez expansion, called for Ms. Rodrigues to step down and said it was time for the Government to step in or give local authorities the power to block the scheme.

“These further emails show an industrial scale conspiracy with leading scientists to manipulate the debate on the Ulez expansion by inappropriate requests to reword independent scientific reports,” said Cllr Osborn.

“These Orwellian efforts to rewrite the facts mean that Shirley Rodrigues can no longer credibly remain Deputy Mayor of London, it’s time for her to go.”

London Conservatives described the latest emails as “revealing”, saying they showed ongoing interference into scientific research by the Mayor’s office in relation to emissions.

Peter Fortune, the Conservative London Assembly member for Bexley and Bromley, two of the boroughs which are also challenging the Ulez expansion, said: “It is unacceptable that Sadiq Khan’s deputy would tell scientists to downplay findings that are inconvenient for the Mayor.

“Scientific debate needs to be open and transparent, but as these further revelations show, the Mayor’s office has repeatedly sought to interfere and silence dissenting views.

“Both Sadiq Khan and Shirley Rodrigues have a lot of explaining to do.”

Outlandish fraud. All Totalitarian theologies enage in massive fraud. Rona fascism was a case in point. The Climate tards have been doing it for 140 years. When I was young I was told an Ice Age cometh, and New York City would be under water by 1995 and all raw materials would be used up by 1990. Massive famines, most would die and peak oil was pronounced every day. All rubbish and anti-science crap.

Where I am in Sussex, March-April-early May has been one of the coldest wettest ugliest springs in recent memory. But. I am waiting for these idiots to tell me that April was the hottest April evah in the UK! Records everywhere no doubt.

Maybe they will put their temp reading units in the oven at the BBC office and regale us with the boiling temps.

Agree, wettest coldest April I can remember in my 50 years. Yet I heard either BBC or Independent not sure that April had the hottest day on record. I genuinely think people believe this s**t ahead of their own experience.

But it is getting hotter. Climate scientists’ models show that all 12 months were warmer than normal this year, making 2024 the hottest year ever.

I heard that too. I had to light the wood stove a few weeks ago after a break from having to do so. some people need a permanent warm house, I just vent where I can and keep the living room warm enough!

Germany saw record levels of snowfall last winter and – this certainly hasn’t ever happened during my conscious lifetime – heavy snowfall as late as late April. However, as some climate guru declared on TV, due to global boiling this was unsually warm snow.

According to my personal experiences, since 2000, when snow reappeared after years without it, it’s generally getting colder and not hotter and that’s why the global boilists have to resort to ever more elaborate fakery to keep the 1990s narrative of climate change driven by global warming alive.

Wealthy individuals throughout history have made attempts to ‘corner’ certain markets. States do the same thing. China, for example, controls a huge proportion of global copper production. Copper is the foundation stone for electricity powered systems.

The Chinese Communist Party, as we have seen on our streets, can deploy a lavishly funded lobby at any given moment, in support of its own interests.

That is as true of the nut zero ‘green’ lobby as it is of the rabid faux ethnic clothed pro Palestine paid claque infesting the streets of London.

That is the reason, pure and simple venality, that so much poorly evidenced nut zero tripe finds its way into Britain’s public discourse.

Some wise poster on here said something like it’s not the cause it’s the revolution, they were right. This is a great example, they don’t give 2 turds about the environment, in fact they love filth and ugliness, they just seek control.

Collection of data from ‘non standardised’ data collection stations is a scientific waste of time!
…… unless of course, you’re collecting ‘data’ for non-scientific purposes.

Their data collection has the same meaning and veracity as the ‘89% of 57 wimmin swear on their granny’s grave that X face cream makes them look 100% younger’ adverts. And should be treated with equal distain.

As well of the national joke record at RAF Coningsby in 2022 there was the notorious joke record at Heathrow Airport when three passenger jets turned off on to the taxiway and blew their exhausts directly over the temperature monitoring sensor. The Met Office said it was due to a “break in the clouds” for a few minutes. Obviously, having temperature sensors at airports, close to runways, is exactly what is need for the intended purpose: to measure actual air temperature needed to ensure safety margins for take-off and landing of aircraft. However, such sensors are useless for originating climatic data, as the readings have to be “adjusted” to allow for the micrometeorology of tarmac, concrete, building and aircraft movements, such “adjustments” being extremely prone to inaccurate modelling, poor estimation and fraud. Even worse, if the climatic “data” is to be used to claim instantaneous temperature records (rather than deriving mean values over decades) then obviously people are going to scrutinize the precise circumstances under which the figures were obtained, which tends to show up anomalies such as aircraft movements.
A somewhat different “adjustment” should have been applied to the figures at Cambridge University Botanic Gardens, which not only showed a record but a general upward trend over decades. More likely than not this trend should be attributable to the way that the Botanic Gardens were originally in open countryside but have gradually been overrun by development of Cambridge city and are now surrounded by office block sun-traps.

Has anyone ever seen an elephant? How about a Zebra? How about a Pillar box? —-I know that Daily Sceptic subscribers are very observant so I am presuming most of them will have seen those things and will know they exist. They would not likely have to say something like “Elephants are real and happening now” though would they? —–But has anyone ever seen “climate change”? Where did you see it? What does it look like? Did you look out of your living room window one day say to your wife “Hey come and see all the climate change”?.—————- Ok so very smart climate hysteria people will laugh at me and say “But I have never seen a molecule and I know they exist, and I have never seen the planet Uranus but I know that exists, so you are simply a climate change denier. ——Oh dear what a fool I am. But hold on a second let’s take a look at some data. If this “climate change is real and happening now” we should see storms, floods, droughts, wild fires getting more frequent and worse and rate of sea level rise increasing. ——But in the real world there is no increase in the frequency or intensity of any type of weather event and no evidence that the rate of sea level rise is increasing, and remember sea level has been rising for 12,000 years, long before we burned any coal, because we are in a warmer Interglacial period. ———So the statement “Climate Change is real and happening now” is not a scientific statement, it is a political one. It is a statement that seeks to imply that climate change as a result of human activity is as plain as the nose on your face and anyone who says it isn’t must have some kind of agenda and are likely funded in some way by fossil fuel companies. —–But actually the people with the agenda are the people making unvalidated claims about a climate crisis they have no evidence for and who convince themselves that computer models full of speculations and assumptions are evidence of something. ———-They ARE NOT.

“Global temperature” ???? What is that exactly? Do the government funded data adjusters just stick a thermometer under the earths armpit and take a reading? ——The earth doesn’t have a temperature. All temperature is local. You can record a temperature anywhere you put a thermometer.

“Tucker is said to be “particularly interested in intersectional approaches to urban poverty and inequality”. No doubt these are his areas of expertise, but in collating measurements next to the exhausts of multiple jet aircraft for the purpose of making predictions of Thermogeddon, he would appear to be operating outside his comfort zone.”

Wow!

“intersectional approaches to urban poverty and inequality”.

Heady stuff – whatever this shyte is. No use to man nor beast but he’s an ex spurt.

Put him back in his pram and start again.

I don’t think the Climate Industrial Complex will be too worried that their scam is under any kind of threat and the public are going to see it for what a fraud it is if the response here is anything to go by. ——-Climate Change Eco Socialism pretending to be science is the greatest threat to our freedom and prosperity, and we are all just letting them get away with it, except for a few exceptions like some DS subscribers, they are getting carte blanche to do as they please.
