What Heatwave? Latest Data Show July Temperature in U.S. was Normal

by Will Jones
9 August 2023 4:52 PM

Lurid headlines about a ‘deadly’ heatwave in the U.S. last month pinned the blame on climate change and claimed that the warmth was just getting started. ‘Deadly US southwest heatwave will expand to cover much of America as warnings issued,’ cried Sky News.

Now the data are out, and the alarmist headlines are once again looking ridiculous. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has updated its U.S. Contiguous USCRN Average Temperature Anomaly Data through July 2023, and as shown below, the month was unremarkable and continued a long period without a rising trend.

Larry Hamlin at Watts Up With That? comments:

The measured data shows no supporting upward trends regarding U.S. 2023 average summer temperature anomalies to date. This reality flies in the face of the out-of-control media climate alarmist incompetent and idiotically hyped ‘tipping point’ climate change temperature propaganda this summer.

Globally, July 2023 was an unusually warm month, no doubt – though claims of it being the ‘hottest ever’ suffer from a multitude of dubious assumptions and data adjustments.

The University of Alabama’s Dr. Roy Spencer comments that the unusual warmth suggests “something peculiar is going on”.

It’s too early for the developing El Niño in the Pacific to have much effect on the tropospheric temperature record. The Hunga Tonga sub-surface ocean volcano eruption and its ‘unprecedented’ production of extra stratospheric water vapor could be to blame.

The Daily Sceptic‘s Chris Morrison discussed last week the possible role of the huge 2022 Hunga Tonga eruption. Anthony Watts goes into further detail about the eruption on his site.

But whatever the cause of the anomalous July global warmth, it was not reflected in the average temperature of the United States, which was nothing out of the ordinary and continues to show no recent rise.

Yes we had the underwater volcano which dispersed massive amounts of water vapour into the atmosphere.. but I must ask..

Why are the massive Geoengineering programs never mentioned. Spraying of the skies that trap heat, the use of Ionospheric Heaters and Nexrad Radars to control the ionised particulate. I’d really like to know why this is never questioned. Its real and its happening.

So massive that I am sure you can reference pictures, identify appropriate aircraft flights from flight radar and quantify the effect of ionising radar signals compared to ionised particles emitter from extra terrestrial (not alien) sources.

Since I am not allowed to edit my post, have you looked at the power required by the Ionospheric heaters and how localised heating of the ionosphere contributes to global temperatures.

So..what are you saying.. that its not happening? Your posts seem to be erring on sarcasm so I figure that’s your position. Pray tell..

I personally never downtick without contributing a reason for doing so, and you’re right not to take downtickers seriously when they don’t supply their reasons for doing so – but that doesn’t mean they don’t have reasons – just that they’re lazy. So my suggestion would be to be bigger than them and supply the evidence that For-A-Fist-Full-Of-Roubles (sarcastically) suggests you must have – because, his (pretty mild) sarcasm notwithstanding, that evidence would be the best way to shut them up…

I note that you Clive haven’t committed yourself on this subject with a yes or no.. interesting! However I’ll answer you.

As somebody who grew up between Gatwick and Heathrow airports in the 50s, and whose favourite pastime was sky-gazing in the summertime, I remember well the silver jets in a deep blue sky with the tiny trails behind them that dissipated almost immediately.

Am I supposed to believe that with advance of jet engine technology, those self-same trails last for hours, spread from horizon to horizon, blot out the sun, and cover the sky in a milky grey murk are somehow part of that advanced technology.

Am I supposed to deny the expertise of a close relative whose a retired jet engine technician, someone who served at the RAE (Royal Aircraft Establishment) when he tells me those trails are definitely not condensation.

I could write an essay, but sadly I don’t have the time, and really all it takes to confirm what I’m saying are three things.. common-sense, the ability to look up in the sky, and the ability to read and do a little research of ones own. There’s a wealth of information out there for those prepared to look. Two links below for starters..

The reason may have something to do with the height of the aircraft. Modern ones operate at 35-40,000 feet, wher the temperature is -50 to -60C. Water vapour at those temperatures needs a lot of energy to disperse which is simply not available. Old jets were much lower.

Sorry.. but that’s a poor excuse. A common one though used by debunkers and fact checkers to explain away the trails.

Note : you always know something’s being covered up when ‘fact checkers’ are involved. It gives the game away.

Read Ian Davis’s article. He explains what you’re talking about in great detail. Sorry, but it doesn’t stand up to scrutiny..

On rereading your post I am not sure whether it is entirely tongue in cheek, especially as you ended it with “Its (sic) real and happening”.

If indeed the reason for geoengineering programs is to spray chemtrails and block the sun’s rays to “tackle climate change”, then two things become apparent: 1. Those responsible for such nefarious projects would never mention it, as there the public backlash would be unstoppable – you have to do it covertly. And 2.Quite revealingly, if “blocking out the sun” is deemed an effective tool against climate change, then isn’t that a tacit admission that the majority of climate change is caused by solar activity?! (Another reason geoengineering projects are not mentioned, or at least not warts-and-all)

You make very good points David.. nefarious, covert, and blocking the sun, all tell a tale. Like covid and net zero all the usual suspects are on board.

That its happening there is no doubt whatsoever.. and the point of my post at the beginning of this article was to try and get a debate going on this subject by those who comment here who are supposedly awake and capable of critical thinking.

Alas, for something so important in all our lives and especially those of our children and grandchildren the participation is disappointing indeed.

I’m not giving up though, because I know what’s happening is not benign, its weather warfare against us and our planet, and according to the research carried out by Dr Ana Maria Mihalcia Phd.. its not only heavy metals like aluminium oxide that they are spraying. We are being doused with nanoparticles/technology which is resulting in the unvaxed suffering the same ailments such as rubbery clotting as the covid vaxed. No more bragging about being pure-bloods..

Her work is essential to research to glean more on this appalling subject.

There is no such thing as a global temperature. July may have been a hot month somewhere (in the Sahara perhaps?) but it certainly wasn’t a hot month in either the UK or Germany. To the contrary, it was miserably cold and kept raining most of the time, this continuing into August (so far). I’ve meanwhile come to the conclusion that the phrase global heating really means Gotta turn the heating on all year because it’s so cold.

To use a contrived example, calculating an average temperature for the UK from the MET office temperature data rests on the implied assumption that jet exhausts on RAF Coningsby have a meaningful influence on the temperature in the Scottish highlands which isn’t the case. Or maybe using another contrived example: Assuming I light a candle in my bathroom, the flame itself is going to be hot enough to get serious burns from it. A thermometer placed next to it will thus show a high reading but averaging this reading with that of another thermometer sitting on the living room windowsill will not represent the temperature in my flat accurately but seriously distort it upwards.

Averaging temperatures is a sleight of hand of the climate change quacks.

In various discussions with people and online I have heard people talk of “Average Global Temperature” and they will often remark that it is rising. When I ask them what is “Average Global Temperature” is and how it is calculated they almost always either cannot or won’t reply. What they fail to understand is that some things lose their meaning when you average them, and temperature is one of those things. Temperature is not an amount of anything. It is a condition.——- Sure I can take a temperature in Sydney, another in Montreal and another in Iceland, and I can construct some average or mean or median etc from those temperatures but the number I end up with is NOT the temperature of anything. It is just a mathematical construct. ——-Ofcourse even if none of what I just said was true, the temperature record of earth is a complete dogs breakfast of adjusted and manipulated data. We never had thermometers everywhere recording temperatures over time. Thermometers were mostly in wealthy western countries, very few in poorer countries and none in the oceans which make up 70% of the planet. ——–I say to the climate activists who are like a hammer that sees everything as a nail and every single bit of weather they deem unprecedented as caused by humans,—- “What was the Average Global Temperature in 1950? How about 1920? How about 1860? ———-Oh you don’t know? So how do you know there is a problem with your alleged “Average Global Temperature” in 2023?———What is this unprecedented 2023 global temperature relative to?

SOME areas of the USA had heatwaves, while others like the Northeast (my neck of the woods) were normal or below normal most days. Hence the national average being normal overall, even with some very hot spots (which happens every year).

You will find that even the IPCC state that they cannot tell the difference between natural variability of climate and changes that are allegedly caused by humans. They say that at this point they cannot see a human signal in the data. So how does any of that translate into a “climate emergency”?

Election rigging is a global problem.

With a well constructed democracy and a sufficient amount of divide et impera, nobody needs to rig elections.
