Welcome to this week’s Weekly Sceptic podcast – episode 29!
Toby and Nick discuss Trump’s arrest and how Ron DeSantis may react. They then talk about the infamous Suella Braverman picture and the thousands of subsequent Auschwitz memes shared on Twitter by people who were only a month ago railing against Andrew Bridgen’s Holocaust quote. Nick and Toby go on to discuss the distinction between ‘disinformation’, ‘misinformation’ and ‘malinformation’…
They then speak about the British police turning away from enforcing free speech rights whilst spending time (and taxpayer money) on woke diversity training. And Nick and Toby discuss the glorious implosion of the SNP!
Boris is back in the news – with hostilities resuming between him and Dominic Cummings.

We have a bumper episode of Peak Woke – with Toby and Nick vying for this week’s title… And we’re honoured, again, to have Dr. Peterson back to dispense his valuable advice (this week to Toby!).

Toby has achieved immense things by founding Sceptic and the Free Speech Union, but by God there are times when he sounds like Controlled Opposition. No, Toby, the prosecution/persecution of Trump and the likes of Bannon/O’Keefe/Flynn and many others is not business as usual for American politics. That’s piffle on stilts. Nor is the phrase ‘undocumented migrants’ a homonym for illegal immigrants
Indeed. It is quite extraordinary that he is increasingly so utterly wrong on US politics, and for one who spent time in the US, he simply hasn’t a clue what’s been going on in that country, especially since 2016. He has a strange form of repressed, Trump Derangement Syndrome. A real worry.
Nick were you a ever a reader of Lockdown Sceptics during 2020-21?
Were you ever really following the details? Were you a dissenter, willing to be vocal when it wasn’t the done thing and speaking out led to family breakdowns (for me at least), twitter bans/pile-ons, loss of reputation / career, etc…
How could you prefer Trump over DeSantis? RDS’s willingness to listen to the Great Barrington Declaration authors, his principled resistance to hysterical press smears, shrugging-off a nickname of “DeathSantis”.
He’s earned my respect, I think he’d be a good prez.
