COVID-19 was not dangerous enough to justify cutting short vaccine trials as the vaccine had to be “very safe”, Chris Whitty advised the Government in the early weeks of the outbreak, it has emerged.
Writing on WhatsApp on February 29th 2020, the Chief Medical Officer told Government figures: “For a disease with a low (for the sake of argument 1%) mortality a vaccine has to be very safe so the safety studies can’t be shortcut. So important for the long run.”
The estimate of 1% turned out to be an overestimate, as the infection fatality rate in Europe and the Americas was found to be 0.3-0.4%.
Chief Scientist Patrick Vallance agreed with this advice and wrote that existing drugs should be relied on instead: “Agree, existing drugs best things to try for this outbreak. Accelerate vaccine testing where we have good candidates for future, and prepare for manufacturing capacity for longer term.”

It has not been reported what led to this approach being changed, but the advice was given before a pandemic had been declared or any country except China had imposed a lockdown. Public opinion, and Government responses around the world, shifted considerably after that point.
The Telegraph has published an article looking at what the Lockdown Files WhatsApp messages show about how the Government came to impose lockdown on March 23rd as it came under pressure during March to do more.
On March 2nd Patrick Vallance said he and Whitty estimated that the chance of a reasonable worst case scenario (at one point reportedly estimated by Whitty to involved up to 820,000 U.K. deaths) was one in five:
For percentage probability of RWCS [reasonable worst case scenario] we don’t have a calculated figure and can’t give one on the data we have. But Chris and I both think that looking at Wuhan so far the RWCS is relatively low probability, say one in five chance. But that is an impression not a calculation.
On March 5th a poll showed the public were still happy with the Government’s calm approach.

However, this was probably the last time that was true. As images from Italy – “where hospitals were overwhelmed by gasping Covid victims and distraught doctors were having to turn away the dying patients” – were beamed into living rooms over the following days the panic buying began as the sense of doom grew.
On March 8th France banned large gatherings as Italy locked down the entire north of the country, and Government figures began to feel the pressure to do more.

By March 11th Boris Johnson’s Chief Adviser Dominic Cummings was stressing how difficult it was to continue to hold the liberal line – and not very subtly implying he agreed with the critics.

On March 12th and 13th Patrick Vallance and other Government figures did one last media round arguing for sticking with a calm, liberal response that would lead to herd immunity, but it was no longer well-received by the media or much of the public. In line with that plan, contact tracing was stopped around March 15th as the country moved from containment (where contact tracing makes sense) to mitigation (where it doesn’t), but behind the scenes this change was opposed and the idea that we should be ramping up testing and contact tracing for indefinite use became a new orthodoxy. Cummings wrote: “We really need to explain our testing policy tomorrow – neither I nor PM understand it and we need to explain and ramp up as fast as humanly possible.”
On the evening of March 16th – the day Neil Ferguson’s Report 9, projecting over 500,000 deaths without severe suppression measures, was published – Boris Johnson told the nation that, without drastic action, the virus would spiral out of control.
These modellers had a track record of drastically exaggerating threats, but this seemed not to matter. As Carl Heneghan and Tom Jefferson write in an excoriating piece in the Mail this morning: “Faith was placed in experts who, in the past two decades, wrongly predicted 136,000 U.K. deaths from new variant CJD contracted by eating meat infected with BSE (or mad cow disease); 65,000 deaths from swine flu; and 700,000 deaths from bird flu.” As a second lockdown loomed later in the year, Dr. Heneghan and others tried to bring actual data and a sense of perspective to bear, but it quickly became clear that most ministers had no interest in anything that might make earlier decisions look unwise: “Our efforts were to no avail. A fixed ideology had rooted itself in Downing Street and the second lockdown in November 2020 went ahead.”
It was in those 11 days, from March 6th to 16th, that the country was transformed from a stoic survivor facing with calm courage the approaching tide to a gibbering wreck cowering in homes and refusing to go to work. The slow recovery from those traumatic days of spring three years ago is still ongoing.

It is interesting that Whitty mentioned prioritising existing drugs to tackle infections over risking a poorly trialled vaccine.
It may be my poor memory, but I seem to remember the use of both hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin was deprecated. Apart from paracetamol, can anyone remind me what else was in the armoury?
Fresh air. If you’ve got everyone round the Christmas dinner table and granny starts to get the sniffles, it’s very important to throw the window right open and stick her head out of it. Even if it’s raining and snowing you’re doing the right thing for your country.
Out in the snow! Sunlight https://c19early.org/sun, “healthy diet” https://c19early.org/dt and exercise https://c19early.org/ex all scored well although I don’t see any RCTs so probably highly confounded. Still, it’s important to get granny running up and down the garden in the snow.
Hancock told Parliament that Vitamin D “doesn’t work.” If he didn’t get that from Whitty, did he just make it up?
He claimed there had been trials, but in fact there had not. Guilty of misleading the house, parliamentary euphemism for lying.
Of course anyone with half a brain knew that the body’s main immunomodulatory hormone was important for fighting off viruses and bacteria, and that knowledge was many decades old in 2020.
I stand to be corrected, but I was led to understand that one of the first things that in-patients were given after admission was a very big dose of Vitamin D.
In the initial stages Vit D was promoted as beneficial, primarily I believe, as it helps the immune system when seen as a hormone. Apart from diet, it can be acquired by exposure to sunlight. So they had to discredit Vit D so they could stop you going out into the sun. If you feel down, there is nothing better than a walk in the sunshine. So to help promote the pandemic they also created a Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) pandemic, which enhanced the fear factors. Self perpetuating hysteria.
Scotch Egg, if memory serves me.
An entire musical was written around this. It was called Scotch Egg: The Musical. I await the sequel: Lockdown Files: The Musical .
Oh yes – in France HCQ was available over the counter up to France 2020, when it was inexplicably withdrawn. Didier Raoult, initially on the French outbreak management team, insisted that anti-viral treatments as early as possible were essential, and emphasised that giving them when people were ill in hospital would be pointless as they were not therapeutics. He has been vilified ever since.
I remember that the initial advice was also not to use steroids, even though that made no sense, as it was being claimed that those most ill were those whose immune system was out of control – surely that is precisely when you do use steroids? The use of dexamethasone from late spring/early summer 2020 on was deemed a game changer, if I recollect correctly.
Why were anti-inflammatories like ibuprofen deemed contra-indicated?
More importantly, why is an unsafe, ineffective vaxx still in the trial stage, still allowed to be used under EUA, even though the emergency is now deemed over? Surely from a legal perspective this cannot be correct? The EUA is quite clear that the product is not authorised and may only be used in an emergency situation. Virtually all countries has ended the emergency, yet EUA use is still allowed?
Follow the $$$$$$$
I could be wrong but there seems to be a play on words now by replacing EUA – emergency use authorisation- with CMA – ‘conditional marketing authorisation, intended for medicinal products that address an unmet medical need, such as a lack of alternative therapy for a serious or life-threatening disease. CMAs may be granted where comprehensive clinical data is not yet complete but it is judged that such data will become available soon.’
A more robust approach to diet improvements, notably supplementary vitamin D through the winter, level of exercise, weight management and so on. Anything like that which enhances the performance of our immune systems could have been promoted in a similar fashion.
However, the last thing they wanted was the existence of established alternatives, so that Emergency Use Authorisation could be granted; arguably, based on a lie.
Paracetamol was recommended although trials suggest it’s somewhat harmful. https://c19early.org/ace
Aspirin was discouraged but trials suggest it may be slightly helpful https://c19early.org/e. A reason it was discouraged was that aspirin can inhibit an immune response, but the effect is non-linear and appears at high doses. Very high dose aspirin been suggested as a cause of the severity of the 1918 flu pandemic,
For most people, just keeping vitamin D in range may be all that’s needed. Zinc is cheap and quite effective too https://c19early.org/z
There’s a long list of candidate prophylactics and treatments here: https://c19early.org/
I’ve worked in medicine for 21 years and can categorically tell you that NO drug will be effective against an illness that only exists in the mind.
If everyone could become a real skeptic and understand that Covid 19 does not, and never has, existed then we could all save ourselves a lot of time but it’s 3 years down the line now and we are still quibbling over Ivermectin, Hydroxychloroquine, steroids blah blah blah.
This is a Mass PSYCHOLOGICAL illness correctly known as Mass psychosis but more commonly understood as Mass Hysteria.
Truly understand that diagnosis and all the paradoxes and contradictions of Covid 19 make complete sense.
Agreed. This is relevant:

Budesonide (asthma inhaler).
Wait until your lips turned blue, phone an ambulance (if you can reach the phone let alone speak) get put on a ventilator and die as I recall.
Hi roubles, It was the big pharma outfits using their massive resources to undermine the use of ivermectin and other cheaply available drugs which it seemed if tested fairly would have helped moderate Covid symptoms and outcomes. Instead, they used their resources to do some really dodgy testing on their vaccines to make them appear to be the only answer. So they could make billions. We now know their testing was biased, incomplete and concealed bad results. And now these same big Pharma outfits with the help of governments are doing everything they can to resist proper testing of the real deaths and illnesses that their fairly useless products have caused. I am so cheesed off to keep hearing how many lives these dodgy products are supposed to have saved when the data about how many have been killed by them is hidden. Governments seem to be effected by their tax income and contributions from fines due to their record of absolute dishonesty, to bring them properly to account.
Ivermectin is effective. Why do you think it became “unavailable”?
So, for some reason Eugyppius and Toby think these WhatsApp messages invalidate any claims of conspiracy. It’s weird how people only see what they want to see.
All I see is a bunch of middle managers running around implementing the directives that come from elsewhere. In the case of Hancock, he has a mandate and it’s left up to him how he goes about it, as long as the population is suitably terrorised. When public health officials like Whitty raise their own concerns or express their own opinions, they are dismissed as irrelevant to carrying out their given objectives. They then go out and parrot the party line, regardless of their own independent judgement.
None of this looks like “evil but stupid” people running around banging into each other until 3 years of lockdowns and forced gene jabs spontaneously transpire from their flawed collective human nature. There were several globally influential people that clearly stated in early 2020 that we would have no choice but to lock down for 2 years to wait for a vaccine.
Everything played out according to that mandate.
Exactly how I read these latest releases. If the ‘experts’ stated that it was unrealistic to expect a vaccine to bring salvation any time soon, that should have been taken as the bottom line. Any further approach should have been based on what was possible: expand hospital capacity asap (never happened anywhere, quite the opposite), retrain staff to deal with surges, use whatever medication was available and known to be safe, allow the non-vulnerable to mix as much as possible, as by March 2020 it was well known that only a small part of the population was at risk. Did they not allow this because they knew this would prove that even if this resulted in short-term immunity, long-term immunity was unlikely to develop and a vaccine would therefore be useless?
Sure, the media was going mad, scaring the crap out of people and getting them to yammer for more measures – but someone was pushing the media. If the media had been acting off its own bat and trying to outdo each other to get the most readership/viewership, they would have definitely had a field day when people started dropping immediately after being vaxxed and with so many getting corona shortly after being vaxxed – yet then the media managed to see 5 fingers instead of the 4 being held up.
Whose idea was it come up with a daily death count? How would people feel if they knew there are approx. 450 deaths every day in the UK from cancer? Why is that figure not reproduced every day in the media, so that people might modify contributing behaviour (smoking, obesity, drinking, etc.)? That daily death count, without giving any comparison of how many people might die every day in a bad flu epidemic, how many people die every day normally, dialled the fear factor up exponentially. That alone was a disgrace.
It was the daily death count that sparked my first suspicions. Served no purpose whatsoever but to terrify and was out of context and cumulative. Pure propaganda. These supposed WhatsApp revelations look like a limited hangout to me. They perpetuate the idea that things were happening organically and in response to an emerging threat. They weren’t. This should be obvious.
Exactly CG. Took one look at those numbers and thought they didn’t look at all exceptional. After two minutes of basic research and primary school arithmetic, I found my instincts were correct. But nobody wanted to know. Called me a conspiracy theorist. Then I knew something was up.
Same here. I watched about 5 of the Government’s daily briefings; my adult son (who came back home for the first lockdown and was WfH) asked what they were saying and I told him it was rubbish: they were spouting stats, death-count and not putting any of it into context.
I never watched another one.
I think the purpose of the DT’s WattsApp revelations is to justify taking power to manage a “pandemic” away from politicians (who don’t understand the science, play politics etc) and hand it to the oh so wise and trustworthy “scientists” at the WHO ….. who aren’t at all compromised by their close links to Big Pharma, Gates etc.
Daily tickers were indeed a joke….MCCD process was changed so hand waving and fake tests were substituted for medical proof, from just one, not 2 doctors (quacks). Every death was paid. Every Rona event, test, stab, was paid. I am not a scientist and an ‘ist’ and phobic, but gee, I wonder what the incentive might be….
0.3% death rate, yet in every G20 country the quacksines were rolled out and yet we are to believe that in every G20 country, it was just a ‘botched job’, not coordinated, not planned.
Bancel CEO of Mode-RNA told his employees certainly before the lockdowns, and probably in 2019 (the arse checkers dispute this), that they need to make a billion stabs. But unplanned we are told….
$cience.
I think the daily death count came out of the Medical Examiner System that came into being in 2016 in the UK. This allowed deaths to be classified in any way that the Medical Examiner wanted, so all deaths in early 2020 were changed into Covid deaths even without a positive PCR(spit!) test within 28 (or at one point 60) days.
Essentially when more deaths were needed to whip up the fear they could be conjured up out of nowhere. I would have hope to see Coroner’s resigning en-masse because of this disgusting process, but sadly it seems they viewed their careers as more valuable than truth.
Thankfully I wasn’t in the UK at the time the ‘nudge unit’ at No 10 went into overdrive. Michie et al have an awful lot to answer for. I doubt they will be held to account.
Just like everyone else in this fear-mongering campaign.
Exactly. A large class of useful idiots (politicians who we apparently elect) combined with a very much smaller bunch of narcissists who also happen to be very rich and think their ideas are so good that everyone should be forced to follow along.
“Covid ‘Not Deadly Enough’ to Justify Risk of Fast-Track Vaccines” And yet the head of the MHRA, an organisation which owes its origins to the 1968 Medicines Act in the wake of the Thalidomide tragedy, somehow thought that it was right and proper to switch roles from ensuring the everyone is protected from the risk of undiscovered side effects in novel therapies, to the new role of ‘enabler’ of untested bio toxins being injected into children and pregnant women. And anyone else who had been sufficiently browbeaten, coerced, terrorised or just plain threatened on pain of losing the job.
What strikes me is that despite
we magically created a novel, safe and effective “vaccine” against a supposedly “novel” virus in record time and which was “authorised” in a matter of days, but remains “unapproved”.
Currently #blotgate and myocarditis are awaiting investigation. #Blotgate is the contamination of the intended mRNA with unintended mRNA which produces defective proteins with unclear clinical effect and ultimate fate. Myocarditis seems to be partly understood, and is connected to the unexpected accumulation and excess production of spike protein in the heart and major arteries.
Let’s not forget that the spike protein with an engineered furin cleavage site was deliberately grafted on to SARS-CoV to create a much more human-infectious virus. The original intent of the BioNTech developers was to inject their concoction into the lymph nodes, having to make do with the arm was what caused the need for the lipid nanocapsules to carry it to the lymph nodes. On the way if it got into the bloodstream directly (poor injection technique) then it was inevitable that this very toxic protein would attack various organs such as the heart and lungs.
If the purpose of this is to try to save Witless’ reputation, it’s flawed. It doesn’t matter what he said at the start, the fact that he then went on to promote & push for the bioweapon injections in public & is on the public record as doing so, he is complicit in the crime.
Interesting what Unbalanced writes above as he refused to engage with Dr Mike Yeadon on these points despite the pair having trained together & remained in contact throughout their careers. Is this really what was stated in the messages or are they manufactured to push through a narrative??

So, according to Whitty before being nobbled, a disease with 1% mortality is “low mortality” and doesn’t warrant shortcutting the development of vaccines. He was Chief Medical Officer (or in my friends’ parlance “the top doctor in the country.”
In fact the overall mortality of COVID was between 1/10 and 1/20 of that, making it an extremely low mortality disease. So apart from the criminality of taking shortcuts over vaccines, we have it on official authority from Feb 2020 that we were dealing with a pandemic of a low mortality disease, and anyone who tells you that it was a unprecedentedly deadly threat about which we knew nothing about at first, and so had to act as we did, is spreading misinformation.
If you’re correct about 1/10 – 1/20, which I think you are, we also have to remember that this is the OVERALL mortality rate and the majority of the mortality burden was on the elderly and vulnerable, so for those healthy under 60, the rate was far lower than even that!
Which, of course, would justify a sensible vaccination policy of OFFERING the vaccine to the former demographic and stopping there. But they went a little further than that, didn’t they?
Back in 2020, there was an Oxford University published gadget that allowed one to work out the risks based on a range of different factors. I used it from time to time, and the real risk numbers were tiny. Here’s what the output looked like in early 2021.
I used it too and quickly realised that I didn’t have much to worry about. Later on, it was no longer available for Joe Bloggs to use, it was only available for medics I think.
Simply using a calculator, using the UK HSA’s official figures, I calculated how much I would reduce the risk of hospitalisation and death due to Covid if I got vaccinated, and the reduction in risk was minuscule, something like a reduction in risk of about 0.0003%.
This is rich from Cummings: “We really need to explain our testing policy. Neither I nor the PM understand it“.
They didn’t understand THEIR OWN POLICY! In other words an arbitrary, groundless idea was plucked out of thin air, just like the rest of their set of responses. Just so they could be seen to be doing “something”, and the pressure to conform to the more hard-line approaches of other countries… Not because of any independent logic behind them!
As written in the article, testing became pointless once containment was abandoned in favour of mitigation, as per pre-existing pandemic preparedness plan. At the same time, the WHO was pushing Test! Test! Test! as the new and fashionable way to deal with pandemics. And this discrepancy was what the otiose egghead and the spineless jelly didn’t understand. Italy, France, Spain, Germany, China, the WHO and the USA, Guardian and BBC, everyone’s freaking out, so why don’t we?
I am concerned that we are being distracted and led down a rabbit hole here.
Whitty,Valance et al, non of them resigned, non of them spoke out, they continued to collect the money, parade on tv, and let’s not forget support the injections and mass vaccination, and pushed through the injections for children. They do not get to go free, they do not deserve a free pass, they are complicit in lies, and death. DO not allow the distraction.
Don’t worry, none of us have been distracted from the truth of what happened, our problem is the difficulty in getting the truth acknowledged by the establishment.
They’ll have to be dragged kicking and screaming…
All just a cock-up.
Lol two downvotes already. Get stuffed.
It is all very interesting.
It appears that during the early days, when not so much was known about the virus but we were learning quickly, there was an effort to ‘follow the science’.
It appears that it was soon after this that our politicians decided to go with ‘follow public opinion’, and a bit after that ‘do what it takes to make sure you’re not found out’.
A point of note — Without this leak it I can’t imagine that the Covid inquiry would have had access to these discussions. I imagine that even now they won’t have access to similar messages from others involved in decision making at that time.
Sorry I am not buying this “follow public opinion” line. They spent huge sums of money and massive effort to scare everyone, so they were MANIPULATING public opinion, not following it.
It didn’t seem to take much to make people pro-lockdown in the first few weeks of April 2020, I had a number of discussions where the counter-parties turned very irate when I said that all this was for nothing.
It seems we have a country full of people who have lost the ability to think for themselves.
I’m sure some people were worried and influenced by what was happening in other countries, but the government did nothing to try and allay fears, in fact it went out of its way to exacerbate them and enshrine them in law, threatening people who did not comply etc. The “following public opinion” line is bullshit. Sweden and South Dakota did not lock down and their governments survived just fine. It’s a matter of public record that they tried to scare the public – why would they need to do that if public opinion was overwhelmingly on their side?
I suspect that they didn’t realise that until the campaigns had been launched. Governments are often very unaware of what public opinion is doing. The whole pandemic thing started running very early in 2020 too, so people heard news reports well before the Nudge Unit got involved.
Sorry, not sure I understand. It’s being argued that the government was following public opinion: “It appears that it was soon after this that our politicians decided to go with ‘follow public opinion” – original post I commented on, in this thread. I don’t buy it, for the reasons stated.
In all fairness, public pressure did count. When PM Rutte first announced measures here, it was calmly. I had gone to the supermarket a few hours before the announcement and the lady at the till had mentioned how so many people were stocking up, she thought it was ridiculous. So people were already starting to panic.
Rutte announced anti-social distancing, limiting of groups outdoors, closure of restaurants, bars, discos. Shops and work places to stay open and schools to stay open. This was a Thursday, come the Sunday he had to announce the schools would close because parents had made it clear they would not send their children and teachers refused to go in. Rutte wanted the schools to stay open because he knew people with young children would not be able to go to work. Whatever machinations may have been going on, at that point I don’t believe he was in on them. Later, totally.
There’s always pressure from some part of the public on government to do something about all sorts of things. Sweden managed to resist.
I agree there was major manipulation of public opinion, that doesn’t necessarily mean it was initially the government that was doing it. It could have been our favourite WEF villain getting in first, knowing that once people were clamouring to be saved, someone like BoJo would follow public opinion over his own instincts or common sense. Considering Schlob has said he admires how China handles things, he will have realised just how much traction could be gained from buying off the media early on and getting the people to beg to be abused. There were plenty of crybabies here in NL who would whine about how other countries were much stricter, insisting on face rags early on, not allowing people out of their homes, etc. Despite the fact we were doing better than most countries in Europe. Crybaby see, crybaby do.
A friend of mine in the UK thought it was all ridiculous, opining that if the government told people to stick a cucumber up their Rs and hop up and down on one leg they would jump to. But he believed the government was doing whatever it thought was what the people wanted, i.e. if the people screamed that something had to be done, then government was going to do something, whether of any use or not.
It’s quite possible other parties also influenced media coverage, and also that the MSM themselves were in some cases quite keen on covid because it furthered their collectivist agenda. But the UK government bought tons of advertising space and conducted their own fear campaign with daily broadcasts, catchy slogans, Ofcom prohibiting dissent, the nudge unit.
Reports from Italy would have come through a very narrow range of sources, namely the international news agencies, an obvious target for manipulation by the usual organisations.
They started manipulating public opinion once they had succumbed the clarion calls of madness as spread by the MSM. I remember a Guardian editorial about the wrongheadedness of British exceptionalism again asserting itself, one of many, on that occasion.
Government struck £119m Covid advertising deal weeks before first lockdown (telegraph.co.uk)
Apologies that it’s paywalled – you may be able to find it somewhere free to view.
I see no contradiction there. That’s about the government planning an advertising campaign, not about the advertising campaign itself which only started once COVID measures had been implemented.
I agree it’s not conclusive, but it makes me very suspicious. I don’t recall exactly when the fear porn started appearing everywhere but I am pretty sure it was early on, and they would have needed time to prepare it.
By that time, I was still a regular Guardian reader and someone who had been waiting for months for a badly hurting tooth to be pulled out. Things seemed to be progressing with respect to the tooth and I remembered that I was somewhat anxiously following the Guardian campaign for Corona measures á la Italia despite nothing noteworthy except Corona measures was happening there, thinking Thank God, at least in England, they seem to be keeping their senses so far! everyday.
On Wednesday 18th of March, the tooth got finally pulled. A day later, the government announced Corona recommendations and late-night hospitality venues started to close for want of customers. On Saturday came the first Corona emergency press conference and the government issued a Close everything and stay at home! order (which became legally binding Monday) because it was said that too many people (in London) had been ignoring the recommendations. The fear porn campaign started next week.
May they rot in hell
From what I have seen, a huge number of private messages are being deleted by the guilty to protect themselves.
The problem is that what is undoubtedly government business has not been retained for posterity, it is supposed to be but the technology has outpaced the rules once again.
Good old Bob gets it.
Now, if we could only get them on that swing with the same speed that they got those needles in arms
Love the cartoon!
Indeed. I’ll gladly tie the…. perhaps I’d better not say anymore!
I’m sure you meant to say that we need to ensure they are strapped in properly so they can’t fall off the swing – they tried to keep us safe, now it is our turn to return the favour and to treat them with the same concern as they did us. We want these lovely people who spent the last 3 years doing everything they could to
ruin our livessave us, to have a jolly good go on a swing, totally exhilirating and relaxing. So deserved.Spot on, that’s exactly what I was going to say! Hilarious
People chatting like this is only to do with a virus or a “vaccine”..
We’re way past that phase now.
These exchanges confirm it was about politics not proper management of an outbreak of a viral disease.
Hancock is being portrayed as a bumbling idiot (true enough) which we are to believe explains the incoherent response, but Whitty and Valance – at least from the sample messages above – seem to know what they were about.
That they were ‘turned’ to serve politics not health, required a deliberate, considered act not just ooops! cock-up.
Let’s not be distracted. Not cock-up – malicious, evil, globally organised and quite intended.
What becomes clear is the politicians and political advisers and civil servants primary obsession and deference to ‘public opinion’.
They did of course soon resort to also shaping that public opinion so that it would serve their goals and save their a*ses.
It also becomes ever more fascinating why the ‘experts’ all changed their scientifically founded opinions on a dime and resorted to alchemy, quackery and scientism instead of defending and holding onto them and why they all did so at around the same time.
Sweden was just less susceptible to that p.o. influence due to the constitutional restriction and due to the personality of the expert firmly in charge, who just could not care less about that p.o. and Stück to the facts and true science.
It is simply inexcusable that they, the experts, all became and acted like headless chicken.
Many people warned at the time, like Heneghan and Jefferson, and even us laymen knew by then that Ferguson’s output was always sensationalist and spectacularly wrong, that the Bergamo and China pictures were fake, that Italian deaths had an average age of 80 and 99% had comorbidities (Bloomberg 18.3.20) and, of course, the data about the Diamond Princess.
If that was just a cockup, our senior experts and our system are of the lowest quality mankind ever had.
“It also becomes ever more fascinating why the ‘experts’ all changed their scientifically founded opinions on a dime and resorted to alchemy, quackery and scientism instead of defending and holding onto them and why they all did so at around the same time.”
Indeed. Just a cock-up.
I would be very interested to know if anyone in government in Britain was complicit in this bullying of Bunter by Macron:
‘On Friday evening, Johnson ordered pubs, restaurants, theatres, cinemas and gyms to shut their doors to slow the accelerating spread of the disease, days after other European countries put their citizens on lockdown.
French newspaper Liberation, citing sources in Macron’s office, said Johnson’s decision came after the French leader gave him an ultimatum on Friday morning, threatening an entry ban on any traveller from the UK if there were no new measures.
“We had to clearly threaten him to make him finally budge,” the report quoted an Elysee official as saying.
Contacted by Reuters, Macron’s office declined to comment. But a source close to Macron confirmed there was a phone call between the two leaders on Friday. “The way it’s presented is a bit harsh, but we were indeed preparing to close (the border),” the source told Reuters.’
21 March 2020
Given what we now know about this egregious bunch of complete no-hopers, I would be very surprised if there was no collusion whatsoever……
The panic was and will always be the main killer. Modern day pandemics are not dangerous. The reaction to them was. But they are great business and excellent for power grabs.
https://boriquagato.substack.com/p/the-greatest-lie-told-during-covid
It’s a shame really looking back on the damage we did to ourselves, most of which isn’t even manifest yet, the impairment of the development of children which can never be reversed for example. As Milan Kundera said, the struggle of freedom over slavery is the struggle of memory over forgetting. And not just the salient points and punctuation marks but the very mood at the time. The way that one day a train station had commuters on their way to work and then suddenly nothing and the same with the roads. What exactly were we trying to protect except our own sorry asses. Perhaps we need to listen to more Leonard Cohen or take heed of the Zen story of the ronin who was being chased off a cliff by a tiger and as he was hanging on and the tiger was chewing through his wrist he beheld the beauty of a flower and became enlightened. That there is no beauty without hazard and risk. You will see nothing in our culture that speaks to this.
The ship is sinking: many creatures are jostling to jump overboard. There’s something pretty rum going on however. It’s even possible that the WhatsApp messages may have been cobbled together recently by any number of Deep UniState players, edited to bruit abroad the faltering narrative that scientists ‘Good. Clever. We tried to say something but big boys bullied us.’ It doesn’t wash, does it?
With the WHO wanting to seize power and inject us harder, the Deep UniState needs to carefully prize the culpable politicians apart from the equally culpable scientists, like two frozen beef-burgers. (What would John Gummer do?).
But there is no getting round the fact that the nations of the world pretty much did the same things at the same time. Same hymn sheets provided, the tunes are up to you. The WHO desperately wants to run the show and is attempting to blame petty politicians across the world for reckless homicidal actions. Sorry WHO: you’re the first ones I’d be guiding into the dock along with your sponsors. Hancock is just Forrest Gump in comparison.
I’m interested to know whether or not there was a decisive Godfather style ‘horse’s head’ moment in the UK. A clear message delivered from upstairs. Was the message conveyed during Boris’s honeymoon at Goldfinger’s island or was the horse’s head (stop thinking of NZ) slipped into BJ’s bed at St Thomas’s Hospital.
Anyone who believes that this is all cock-up, and that conspiracy is an incredible zany notion should frankly roll over and go back to sleep.
RIP John Magufuli, 5th President of Tanzania.
The malady will never be addressed if the evil is always located outside of ourselves. We might not be as odious as Matt Hancock but this means little. Even if you grant the global cabal there is enough in the way of base behaviour among the general population to push this agenda along. In my view it is completely misguided to focus on the conspirators. We have a scientifically crafted propaganda model that has existed for a century and a population that has been subject to it. This is the starting point. Just looking at your own perspective and seeing how limited it has been.
It is like its Halloween night and the overlords take the children out for a ghost tour.Honestly if you aren’t scared then there isn’t anything they can make you do.I know they look like big powerful people but it is all nonsense. It is very difficult to say this sort of thing in England because of the levels of credulity and I understand that the obedience has been inculcated for centuries.
Chief Medical Officer: “For a disease with a low (for the sake of argument 1%) mortality a vaccine has to be very safe so the safety studies can’t be shortcut. So important for the long run.”
Game, set, match.
It will be worse next time in terms of the reaction. About 40 percent of the population are still disgruntled that the lockdown wasn’t swift and severe enough. I wouldn’t worry too much about that. It will be nasty and it will have a backdrop of a very unpleasant world affairs situation. You will either go along or you won’t.
There is more to remembering this situation than just what was on the news. If you watched the economic news for the previous few months there was the sense that a big crash was happening, essentially the open wound created in 2008. There was mention of the going direct reset and if you followed the markets from February until April you could see clearly that the markets didn’t know what was about to happen. The sad fact is that we left ourselves open to this attack.
You don’t burn up that much money in the expectation that it will lead to a balancing of the books at any point that would be absurd. The touchpaper was ignited back then and there can only be one outcome. It does lead to difficult questions. Do you leave cash in the bank or do you take it out. If you take it out should you buy things or wait.
Whitty KNEW none of the Covid Restrictions were either justified or likely to work. Yet he stood at the podium for 2 years, blatantly lying and giving the Government “scientific cover” for their destructive policies.
Thousands of people have died or been seriously injured by the Covid jabs he ALLOWED to be pushed on people who didn’t need them.
Why is he not being charged with Malfeasance in Public Office?
“Why is he not being charged with Malfeasance in Public Office?”
He got a FuXX1N’ KNIGHTHOOD!
So that’s how you do it then.
Yes, but he got the K before the WattsApp messages were released into the public domain. There is now evidence to support a prosecution.
‘On the evening of March 16th – the day Neil Ferguson’s Report 9, projecting over 500,000 deaths without severe suppression measures, was published – Boris Johnson told the nation that, without drastic action, the virus would spiral out of control.’
Don’t forget the role of the BBC and the public sector unions, principally the teachers’ union, in impelling the abandonment of herd immunity and forcing the first lockdown. The BBC ghoulishly hyped the images from northern Italy – overflowing hospitals, coffins piled up outside overloaded crematoria – to create the story of a modern black death, slaughtering Italy and about to engulf Europe.
All the entirely reasonable explanations were ignored or downplayed. An aging population and serious local air pollution had produced similar scenes in northern Italy in recent winters. Small and rare crematoria – burial is vastly the preponderant mode of body disposal in Italy – often had coffin stacks outside them during winter flu outbreaks. It was worse in spring 2020 because the Italian government had put people off funerals by saying corpses might be infectious,
In the best traditions of its environmental editorializing, the Beeb was determined to whip up the most hysterically alarmist picture possible. One by one, our public sector unions, scared to death by Auntie, began voting to strike.
In mid-Mar-20, BoJo wanted to continue with Whitty’s then sensible policy of herd immunity, until the teaching unions said they were going to strike and close the schools. That was the trigger for the 23-Mar-20 volt face.
Ferguson’s ridiculous model forecasts were wheeled out only then, as cover for an action that was forced on BoJo by the Beeb and the Teachers.
Looks like science followed the politics. Just as it did when the WHO rejected mask use as ineffective, before performing a reverse ferret after political lobbying.
Thanks, Will this explains but does not excuse the stupidity of Boris, Hancock et al. with their crazy liberty and public health destroying actions. It even shows Whitty and Vallance in a better and more scientifically based light. Its unfortunate that in the public broadcasts they just trotted out the political line rather than the truth. It seems they were given their honours for telling the public what they knew not to be the truth, but instead following the government’s line of disinformation to justify the crazy actions taken that so many people are paying the price for now and has had much more negative effect than Covid did.
Back in the very early days of this madness I found the ‘Lockdown Sceptic’, thank heavens. I posted the ‘Big Lie’ quotation from Joseph Goebbels. That, and the fact I was a medical rep during the Hong Kong flu epidemic of 1968/69 when the NHS and country weren’t shut down for a much more lethal respiratory virus, convinced me that the whole thing was a scam.
My wife wouldn’t hear my views as she believed the ‘narrative’. The publishing of the Wancock messages has made her realise I was right; not that she’s told me that though
One needs to look a bit further to see the real depth of the dishonesty. The lateral flow test is not very specific and is easily confused to produce false positives for “something”. The PCR test, pushed so hard by the government was misused, with far too many amplification cycles to show anything, and its actual specificity is still unknown. The fact that a single “something” was found certainly is no indication of infection, and carrying out the test in the environment of a test station with hundreds of possible sources is also crazy.
