Past Covid Infection “as Good as Vaccines” Says Bill Gates-Funded Study

by Toby Young
17 February 2023 3:08 PM

New research part-funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation suggests that natural immunity could be just as good as vaccines at preventing serious illness from COVID-19, although, not surprisingly, the study’s authors encourage people to still get vaccinated to avoid complications from any initial infections. Sky News has more:

Previous Covid infection boosts long-term immunity and lowers the risk of hospitalisation and death at the same level as vaccination, new peer-reviewed research shows.

The study, led by the University of Washington and published by the Lancet medical journal, is said to be the “most comprehensive study to date” on the impact of natural immunity for the disease.

“For people who have been infected with COVID-19 at least once before, natural immunity against severe disease (hospitalisation and death) was strong and long-lasting for all variants (88% or greater at ten months post-infection),” researchers said.

However, catching earlier variants was found to offer reduced immunity protection against re-infection with the more transmissible Omicron, which stands at 36% after ten months.

The research, partly funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, included 65 other studies from 19 countries, looking specifically at those who have not been vaccinated.

It suggests the level and length of protection against reinfection, symptoms and severe illness is at least on a par with that provided by two doses of mRNA vaccines like Pfizer and Moderna.

Researchers also discovered protection from reinfection from a pre-Omicron strain was around 85% at month one, dropping to 79% at ten months, after analysis of 21 other studies that looked at timescales.

They did find overall, based on five studies reporting on severe disease (hospitalisation and death), that overall protection remains high for 10 months – 90% for the original, Alpha and Delta strains, and 88% for Omicron.

Worth reading in full.

Herd immunity strategy not so reckless after all.

Wow; and they’ve spent money on that? How about a minor adjustment: Safer, and more effective than <any novel product>.

Quite. I doubt the jabs ate anywhere near as good as natural immunity. For starters, natural immunity doesn’t cone with risk of heart attack…

Yes the “vaccines” are performing so well in living up to the “safe and effective” hype that countries are seeing more excess deaths in 2021/22 than in 2020. And what about comparing the US states? Highly vaxxed ones should be seeing less deaths than lower vaxxed ones, right? Wrong!

Bill Gates who spreads money around to get pro alarmist climate change stories in the press – even The Daily Telegraph took the thick end of £3 million.

But wait, he’s got a beach side mansions – not worried about sea level there then :

Climate people believe that one part of the ocean is rising 10 feet and will take the Maldives. It doesn’t occur to them that sea level is a global constant* and 10 feet there has to be 10 feet here.

Also, when it does rise, small islands have a natural mitigating factor: at about the same pace as the sea levels rise, sediment washes up and accumulates on the coast, causing the land to gradually elevate in parallel with the sea rise. People have always adapted to geological and oceanic changes such as sea level rise – they’ve never stopped it! Why should today be any different?

Mr Gates is simply re-inventing the wheel.

Why, if we already knew all this, below, did Bunter, Cummings, Hancock et al, the long suffering taxpayer having funded the common cold unit 1957-90, respond in such a bovine, imbecilic, fashion to the emergence of what Coronavirus experts had clearly identified as another common cold coronavirus by early February 2020?

We are now spending yet more money on an inquiry to tell us what we already paid to find out!

Oh for heavens sake…….!

‘After preliminary trials, the detailed changes in the concentration of specific circulating and local antibodies were followed in 15 volunteers inoculated with coronavirus 229E. Ten of them, who had significantly lower concentrations of preexisting antibody than the rest, became infected and eight of these developed colds. A limited investigation of circulating lymphocyte populations showed some lymphocytopenia in infected volunteers. In this group, antibody concentrations started to increase 1 week after inoculation and reached a maximum about 1 week later. Thereafter antibody titres slowly declined. Although concentrations were still slightly raised 1 year later, this did not always prevent reinfection when volunteers were then challenged with the homologous virus. However, the period of virus shedding was shorter than before and none developed a cold.’

‘Coronaviruses have been shown to cause almost 20 % of all colds and since the two main serotypes are roughly equally prevalent (Callow, unpublished observation), any one serotype would cause about 10% of all colds. Since adults have about two colds per year on average [29, 30] and about half of all coronavirus infections are subclinical, each adult should have a coronavirus infection every 2-3 years. This agrees with Monto who suggested a 2-3 year cyclic pattern. It indicates that protective amounts of antibody may have disappeared by 2 years’

‘Psychological stress was associated in a dose-response manner with an increased risk of acute infectious respiratory illness’

‘Knowing its causes, the mechanics of how it is caught and its variety of forms is a very significant advance. But it is this variety which is at the heart of the problem.’

Research by David Tyrrell, Common Cold Unit 1957-90

Psychological stress, you mean like you might get if you were old/infirm and suddenly 25,000 of you were kicked out of hospital or prevented from seeing your family……

22 June 2020 Prof. Peter Doherty, Nobel Laureate:

‘The advertisement reads: “How would you like a cheap and comfortable holiday, everything free and no expense, and even 35p a day pocket money?”

The munificent 35p dates it back to the 1946 beginnings of Britain’s Common Cold Unit (CCU).

Set up as a branch of the National Institute of Medical Research, Mill Hill, London, the CCU was located in the long, single-storey army huts of the former Harvard Hospital located at Harnham Down near Salisbury, Wiltshire.

Volunteers were told they had a one-in-three chance of catching a cold, which was spot on because one third of them had material thought to contain a virus that causes colds blown up their nose.

The idea was to identify the virus, or viruses, that cause the common cold so that preventive vaccines could be made. By the time the CCU closed in 1989, they knew that a vaccine strategy was impossible because colds can be caused by too many different viruses.’

Quite staggering (arguably criminally negligent) how much we already knew (largely thanks to the Common Cold Unit) and disregarded:

‘The widespread morbidity caused by the common cold worldwide is related to its ubiquitousness rather than its severity.

The development of vaccines for the common cold has been difficult because of antigenic variability of the common cold virus and the indistinguishable multiple other viruses and even bacteria acting as infective agents.

There is uncertainty regarding the efficacy and safety of interventions for preventing the common cold in healthy people.’

‘The authors wish to thank Tom Jefferson and David Tyrrell (Common Cold Unit) who coauthored the first published version of this review’

Thanks for the review of the old CCU near Salisbury. The other historic fact is that they invented the term “coronavirus”, based on it’s appearance under electron microscopy. The latter was quite new at the time, before which no-one had actually seen any virus, given it’s physical size.

What a surprise. Natural immunity has been known almost since the beginning of time.
Why is that?
We wouldn’t bloody well be here if not.
Anyone interested in the basics of immunology should read the works of Sir Macfarlane Burnet. But what the hell did he know, his books/research are over 70 years old.
Then along came the snake oil salesmen.

If we allow mRNA jabs to proliferate, the human being as we know him/her/it/prefer not to say, is dead.

The government and its NHS minions actually avoided mentioning our immune systems throughout the ‘plandemic’ a nd that was some achievement I thought. Suddenly immune systems are back in vogue!

This was known pre 2020. Everyone knew it. The fact that this is now in MSM and in study funded by Billy boy himself, tells us that in regards to the Cov con, the game is almost up. The show certainly isn’t over though, this is just the intermission. Next up, UFO Landings or WW3…whatever it is, it’ll be a further nudge down the route to slavery. #teamjames

Suppose you are a company manufacturing smoke hoods.
You want to increase your sales figures.
You invent an “improved” smoke hood with a special novel filter to improve efficacy of smoke filtration.
You duly lobby your legislature to make smoke hoods mandatory under every seat of all theatres, using “health and safety” as the selling point.
You sell a lot more smoke hoods and your company makes a healthy profit.

After a few years the smoke detectors go off in a theatre during a production.
The theatre manager flashes up a notice “FIRE: PUT YOUR HOODS ON AND FOLLOW THE ARROWS AND FURTHER DIRECTIONS FROM THE FIRE MARSHALLS”.
Nearly everyone in the theatre does so, save for some hardened anti-hooders.
Despite the panic, everyone escapes, but there seems to be no fire and it looks like a false alarm, perhaps triggered by stage smoke used in the production, or an over-sensitive smoke detector.
Everyone relaxes.

A year later an insurance company notices a curious spike in excess deaths in Orlando.
Analysis quickly shows the spike is caused by a novel strange illness.
Further investigation shows that the illness occurred only in people who were in the theatre blaze.
More analysis shows that all the people with the illness had put on their smoke hoods, but none of those who chose not to put a hood on had developed the illness let alone died.
Your own researchers identify an unexpected pathogen in the smoke filters which is clearly causing the deaths, albeit after a delay of a year.
A whistle-blower in your company discloses that your company had collaborated with a smoke detector company to supply excessively sensitive smoke detectors in theatres, which were triggered by stage smoke, and that there was not actually any fire after all.
Another whistle-blower discloses that they knew all along that the filters contained carcinogenic fibres that worked loose.

What do you do?

Initial suggestions (contributions welcomed):
1. Bribe the editors of medical journals to suppress the results of the investigation.
2. Bribe the news editors to suppress the results of the investigation, and to smear, ignore or cancel investigative journalists and medical people who are asking awkward questions.
3. Infiltrate social media groups with “influencers” who pose initially as anti-hooders but who in fact are being paid to post pro-hood propaganda.
4. Pay social media platform operators to label anti-hood material as “Fake News” or to remove it or demonetize the suppliers of the material.
5. Fire the whistle-blowers.
6. Apologize profusely and quickly and seek acceptance of your apology, before the true scale and reality of the incident become obvious to everybody.

In every case it’s the natural immune system that does all the work dealing with pathogens. The only difference between being vaccinated or unvaccinated is that a vaccine provides the exam questions before the exam. However, mRNA and the like are not vaccines as they give instructions to the immune system to do very specific things. This is the scary bit because it is assumed that the a millions of years old biological system that we have inherited is somehow deficient and requires ‘improving’. Thus type of hubris will not end well.

As well as being robust and long-term, herd immunity (according to germ theory) is also free of adverse events. Was a vaxx even necessary?
