News Round-Up

by Nick Dixon
29 January 2023 12:37 AM

  • “Army spied on lockdown critics: sceptics suspected they were being watched” – The Mail reports that our very own Toby Young has been spied on by the MoD’s 77th Brigade. I just hope they haven’t gone through all our WhatsApp exchanges. Delingpole will have a field day with this.
  • “Pfizer Responses to Veritas Expose” – Dr. Robert Malone looks at Pfizer’s PR defensive, and calls it “a Primer on Modern Crisis Management when you control Google, Corporate Media, and have virtually unlimited Social Media assets”.
  • “UN experts say lab leak was ‘most likely’ cause of Covid” – The authors of two United Nations reports into the origins of the pandemic say they believe a laboratory leak was the most likely cause of COVID-19, the Mail reports. Someone owes that poor old bat an apology.
  • “Councils still blame Covid for service delays…18 months after curbs were lifted” – Councils are continuing to blame the pandemic for service delays despite lockdown restrictions ending more than 18 months ago, the Telegraph reports.
  • “Climate activists guilty of smashing Barclays HQ windows spared jail” – Seven climate change activists who were found guilty of causing more than £100,000 of damage by smashing windows at the headquarters of Barclays Bank have been spared jail by a judge, the Guardian reports.
  • “Lomborg Responds to Polar Bear Abundance Challenge” – Bjorn Lomborg says it does more good for polar bears, and the rest of us, if those trying to help them use accurate facts, according to WUWT.
  • “How Scotland became the wokest country in the world” – Nicola Sturgeon’s passion for fashionable causes is changing the Scottish social landscape – much to the frustration of many locals, writes Jenny Hjul in the Telegraph.
  • “Vandal slams Barclays as ‘climat criminal’ in illiterate eco protest” – An eco-warrior sprayed graffiti on a Barclays store front, but failed to spell the word ‘climate’ correctly, the Mail reports. Perhaps these people are not the Mensa candidates we all suspected.
  • “Pride flag on altar of ‘church of woke’ triggers almighty court battle” – A rainbow Pride flag on the altar has triggered the first court battle of its kind within the so-called ‘church of woke’, the Telegraph reports.
  • “Plumbers’ ‘thick white male’ image could derail U.K. Net Zero ambitions” – In the latest culture war insanity, plumbers are apparently too white, which could stop the recruitment of people needed to install heat pumps, or something, according to the Telegraph.
  • “The trans rapist scandal has destroyed Nicola Sturgeon” – With her party divided and women outraged, the gender-obsessed First Minister has nowhere to run, writes Alan Cochrane in the Telegraph.
  • “Vegan and LGBT police groups among 200 ‘distracting officers from fighting crime’, says Priti Patel” – The former Home Secretary says it is “deeply concerning” that staff networks have “strayed beyond the acceptable bounds of political impartiality”, the Telegraph reports.
  • “King Charles WANTS Harry and Meghan to attend his Coronation” – The King has asked the Archbishop of Canterbury to broker a deal to allow Harry to attend his Coronation – but has met resistance from William, the Mail reports.
  • “Where does wokery end? With the Guardian accused of ‘colourism’” – The progressive’s paper finds itself accused of the very crimes its columnists are quick to accuse others of, writes Zoe Strimpel in the Telegraph.
  • “Western democracy is now in the throes of abject self-loathing” – It is exactly what makes Britain and the United States such desirable destinations that our liberal elites are now threatening to destroy, writes Janet Daley in the Telegraph.
  • “Nigel Biggar hits out at Bloomsbury over ‘cancelled’ book on Empire” – One of Britain’s biggest publishers has been accused of cancelling a book on colonialism by an eminent Oxford academic that concluded the British Empire was not all bad, according to the Times.
  • “U.S. tanks In Ukraine already destroyed after being easily recognised by their rainbow camouflage” – The Babylon Bee highlights the military vulnerabilities of woke tanks.
  • “Nick Dixon and Andrew Doyle discuss Nicola Sturgeon’s latest insanity” – Nicola Sturgeon has accused those who criticise her dangerous and deluded trans policies of being “misogynist, homophobic, possibly racist”. Our discussion of this on GB News was retweeted by the great Jordan Peterson, so may be worth a watch.

‘Don’t put biological men in women’s prisons, end of story, done really?’@NickDixonComic reacts to Nicola Sturgeon claiming gender law opponents are using women’s rights as a ‘cloak’ to be transphobic.

All the time the Climate Activist group think establishment will say stuff like “All reputable scientists say climate change is real and happening now” or other such nonsense. —-The implication being that if you say something contrary to this then you must not be reputable. ——-You are probably a “nasty piece of work”, a “climate denier” and are “in the pay of big oil”. ———How infantile is that? It is a bit like saying you are not a proper football supporter unless you support Arsenal.

All reputable scientists do say climate change is real and happening, the ones that don’t will have to deny the ice ages.

You mean “climate” is real and happening now?

And the disreputable ones (quite a lot of them) ignore the fact that climate change is normal, and always has been, even if you look at a narrow time frame, like their life expectancy.

It is “climate” that is normal. ——“Climate Change” is a term that has come to mean changes allegedly caused by humans. I don’t mean to be too pedantic, but if climate always changes (which it does) there is no need to call it “climate change”—-“Climate” will suffice.

The ladies in a house of ill-repute are all “reputable”.

Perhaps it is this sense it is meant.

Anthropogenic climate change is real. Just look at urban heat islands. Look in detail and you’ll probably see a Met Office weather station.

NASA seems fully invested in denying that this is a major climate event, I suppose they get a lot of budget from ‘monitoring climate change’? Guess where I found this: “In August 2022, a NASA report on the January 2022 eruption of Hunga Tonga–Hunga Haʻapai stated, “The huge amount of water vapor hurled into the atmosphere, as detected by NASA’s Microwave Limb Sounder, The excess water vapor injected by the Tonga volcano… could remain in the stratosphere for several years… may have a small, temporary warming effect… would not be enough to noticeably exacerbate climate change effects.”.
Judging by those charts, methinks NASA spoke too hastily…

Those of us paying attention at the time of the volcanic eruption are in ‘I told you so’ mode – but what of the environmental effects of the Nordstream explosion, recognised as one of – if not the – worst ecological disaster in recent history: anyone looking at atmospheric impact there? Either singly or combined with Hunga Tonga, all that methane must also be having an effect.

No, no, no! Only Mankind can change the climate.

The IPCC has been playing with the meaning of words. According to them climate change means only man made climate change, natural climate change is now called climate variability. This is typical of political manipulation. Natural climate change is of course real and indisputable, It’s the ‘man made, catastrophe soon’ story that is in doubt.
One thing that gets no MSM attention is that water vapor is the principal greenhouse gas in the atmosphere

Love it: Humans think they are controlling climate by messing with “carbon” (while wrecking society) but then along comes Nature and pumps in an extra 10% of water vapour greenhouse gas almost overnight! Such stupidity and dangerous hubris.
