‘Transgender Toddler’ Who Runs Away From Home to Become a Girl is the Hero of Stonewall Children’s Book

by Will Jones
15 December 2022 10:03 PM

A fictional ‘transgender toddler’ who ignores his parents’ wishes is a hero of Stonewall’s new children’s reading list. The Telegraph has the story.

The charity has drawn up an LGBT+ book catalogue for two to four-year-olds, one section of which contains five works on trans inclusion.

One, titled “10,000 Dresses” by Marcus Ewert, an American writer, is about parents who insist their child Bailey is a boy, despite the youngster’s insistence on being a girl.

Safeguarding campaigners said last night it was “disgusting” that the U.K.’s biggest LGBT+ charity could be urging children to go “behind parents’ backs”.

Despite dreaming of dresses every night, Bailey’s mother says in the morning: “Bailey, what are you talking about? You’re a boy. Boys don’t wear dresses!”

When Bailey insists “I don’t feel like a boy”, the mother says, “well you are one, Bailey, and that’s that” – though the author uses she/her pronouns for Bailey throughout.

Following another dream about wearing different dresses, Bailey runs away from home and meets an older girl, a stranger named Laurel at another house, where they make two dresses and try them on as friends.

The plot ends when “Bailey’s dreams come true”, with visions of 10,000 dresses which “show us ourselves”, living as a girl instead of a boy.

Meanwhile, transgender rights activists have forced the cancellation of a screening of a gender-critical film on a university campus after they stormed a lecture theatre to prevent the event going ahead. From the Telegraph:

A showing of Adult Human Female, a documentary which challenges transgender ideology and examines opposition to it in the U.K., had been organised by the University of Edinburgh’s Academics for Academic Freedom group.

The university had defied calls to cancel the event from the University College Union and the student Pride Society, which had condemned the film as “transphobic” and claimed showing it “endangers trans people on campus and beyond”.

The 439-year-old institution, known as one of the homes of the Scottish Enlightenment, insisted it was committed to allowing discussion of “controversial topics” and freedom of speech.

However, around 10 activists “occupied” a lecture theatre at George Square, preventing the screening from taking place there.

When organisers attempted to move the event to an alternative venue on campus, other opponents to the screening entered another building.

Eventually the screening was cancelled, amid angry exchanges between the activists and people who had tickets for the event.

Marion Calder, a director with the For Women Scotland campaign group, called for the university to take disciplinary action against any students who had been involved in closing down the showing.

“This was not free speech – it was a bunch of spoiled children who were upset that they hadn’t got their way,” Ms. Calder, who was at the event, said.

Both stories are worth reading in full.

So much of this seems to be related to superficial image and stereotypes, the idea of girl seems to be typified by an image of a cute person with flowing hair, flowers dresses and pink. Apart from conforming to particular stereotypes, if a person goes ‘trans’ what can they then do that they could not do before?
What so much of this seems to ignore is the whole concept of mothers and fathers which is our basic biology and the roots of our existence. The natural world seems well aware of this, I have never come across a trans gender hedgehog! The natural world knows that the important thing is mothers and fathers and having babies, the continuation of your species depends on it.
If you define a boy as a young human who has the potential to grow and become a father and girl as a young human who has the potential; to grow and become a mother, then I feel we get a little closer to a bit of sanity in this business.

You mean other than get a secure highly paid job for life in the public sector that they are not qualified for but parachuted in anyway?

I would advise any ‘trans fan’ to read ‘The Selfish Gene’ by Richard Dawkins. However, I doubt if any of them have the intellect to understand it.

As girls are free to wear whatever they please, and boys are barred from dresses, it’s perfectly understandable for a boy to want to wear a dress, just for curiosity! I’ve often said that if I’d been a man I’d have (probably secretly) tried on a dress just for the hell of it. And if any of you men have done that it would make absolute sense to me!

But a perfectly normal desire to wear a dress doesn’t make a boy a girl, and anyone who thinks it does/should is insane.

Just let the little boy wear a dress, get it out of his system, and he’ll then find that, LIKE MOST LITTLE GIRLS, he’ll much prefer wearing trousers and jumpers to play in the garden, whatever, as they’re more comfortable and practical!

But that curiosity wouldn’t exist unless the parents / guardians / teachers etc had exposed the child to the opportunity to wear a dress, or otherwise adopt female styles. Children’s behaviour is a product of their peers’ influence (in turn a product of social conditioning by adults), so a young boy’s desire to wear a dress means that at some point an adult must actively have put the idea in the child’s head, even encouraged it!
So they’re not doing it “just for the hell of it”. Children aren’t really as independently creative as you might think. Their scope of exploration is defined by the things they have seen, heard and read, ideas like boys wearing dresses don’t just spring up out of the blue. I’m not saying it’s necessarily right or wrong, just that there’s perhaps a teensy bit of indoctrination filtering through to them from trans activism.

When I was three, I decided I wanted to join the Lizard Race. My parents scoffed: “What are you talking about? You’re not a lizard, you’re a human being and that’s the way it is!”

One night I ran away and joined the Non-Binary Lizard Society, and since that day, I’ve been much happier as I now identify as a reptile and people refer me with the pronoun “it” / “that”

I think that’s trolling: They’re intentionally trying to annoy people in a way which both hurts and frightens them in the hope of becoming the target of an outburst of anger and then, claim victimhood. A real lot of wokery seems to work in this exact way.

My personal opinion is the more society indulges these fantasies, the more damage we do to those who need professional help. Young, vulnerable and impressionable people are being very damaged by the ubiquitous and pernicious trans ideology. It is actually deep rooted in self loathing, poor body image and rejection of self. They have low self esteem and see the gender fluid/trans identify as an immediate fix. It is not “transphobic” to question this. On the contrary, it is morally and ethically critical to reject this insidious and pervasive agenda that is being pushed by social media influencers and woke brands who care only about making money, not young people’s mental health.
