Miliband and the Design for Britain’s Ruin

A red prince, blinded by ideology, deaf to criticism, glib and disingenuous, indifferent to the impacts felt by millions: Ed Miliband epitomises the political establishment’s divorce from reality and the public. Championed by Miliband, climate and energy policies have undermined the UK’s industrial capacity, agricultural production and economy. Prices are rising. Jobs are being lost. Businesses are going bust or moving overseas. And it is going to get worse…

Climate change is falling down the global political agenda. Governments across the world have realised that radical emissions-reduction policies carry huge economic, social and political costs. In Britain, however, the Government has decided that its plan for ‘growth’ is subordinate to Miliband’s desire to make the country a “clean energy superpower by 2030”. In the face of very clear evidence of policy failure such as rising prices, the Government is doubling down on Miliband’s false promises of “jobs”, “lower bills” and “energy security”.

With the Daily’s Sceptic’s help to get the word out, Climate Debate UK is producing a full-length documentary film about the failure of the climate agenda. And we need your help.

Featuring interviews with energy analysts, economists, journalists and historians, this film will explain in clear detail that climate and energy policies have failed because they are fundamentally at odds with reality. Irrational economic policies have been created in an attempt to overcome this problem, but these policies have also failed, creating huge expense for homes and businesses. And as has been seen elsewhere, these failures are in turn leading to political crises. With the Government signalling its inability to accept and respond to criticism of its flagship policy agenda, how will this crisis unfold?

We are at a critical moment. Ever more people are coming to the view that Net Zero is a terrible idea. But the Government – with perhaps the weakest popular mandate in history – is clinging to it at all costs. This film will help to focus attention on the most crucial criticisms of the green agenda’s many failures, and bring them to a wider audience.

We need your support to help produce this film to the highest standards, and to ensure that no opportunity to expose the green agenda’s shortcomings are missed. Please take a look at our trailer below:

Indeed an excellent read, David. Governments across the world, and supra-national organisations like the WEF, learned from Covid that populations could be easily controlled if you instilled enough fear in them.

Post-Covid the climate alarmism has been ramped up ten fold, ably assisted by a compliant media, who in some cases are simply dumb and lazy because they will not look beyond the IPCC’s Summary for Policymakers – an eco-political document which bears little resemblance to the main report. In other cases we have media acting as little more than rabid climate activists (we know who they are).

I was first alerted to the scam (though he didn’t call it that) by Nigel Lawson’s book ‘An Appeal to Reason’ – a forensic dissection of the IPCC’s Assessment Report where most claims of man made effects on the climate had only low to medium levels of confidence.

This in turn led me to sceptical websites, UN Agenda 21 (as it was at the time) and the history of it all going back to Maurice Strong and the rest of the megalomaniac ‘Bond villains’.

I fear, however, that sceptical voices will be crushed in the coming few years and we all know how and by whom.

I have read over 200 books on this issue. I read yours in 2021. So thanks for your contribution to exposing the climate change scam. I look forward to reading your comments on articles on this site, which is one of the few that tears strips of the climate change fraud. I first took an interest in this issue in 2007 when I watched “The Great Global Warming Swindle”, the documentary on Channel 4 by Martin Durkin. The interest developed since then and I have come to understand that Climate Change is Politics, not science. Ordinary people busy with work and family life who simply don’t have the time to investigate every issue are being fleeced by phony planet saving energy policies all emanating from the UN and WEF, and they are being told nearly everyday on their TV News that there is a Climate Crisis. That they must stop driving, flying, eating meat and dairy, get a smart meter that they think is designed to save them money, spent fortunes on inferior technologies like heat pumps, etc etc all to save the planet. —-This as you know is the greatest pseudo scientific fraud ever perpetrated.

Miliband’s blueprint is a Stalinist five year plan. Keep going no matter what, and even if all the evidence is that the plan is not and will not work. Just keep going. And blame failure on subversive elements, in his case capitalists, dictators and markets. In my experience, sticking to a plan and not re-planning is the surest guarantee of failure.

the Government has decided that its plan for ‘growth’ is subordinate to Miliband’s desire to make the country a “clean energy superpower by 2030

This sort of statement offends me. Not because I like Miliband or the Labour government. Far from it.

But FFS, several consecutive Conservative governments are the ones that made and reinforced the laws that mandate NetZero insanity. To say that this particular government is subordinating growth to Miliband’s desires is an affront to truth by gross omission.

The entire establishment, the entire bureaucracy, the entire political class have subordinated this country’s prosperity to radical climate ideology. Not just Miliband.

If we think this is happening because Miliband wants it to happen, then we don’t understand anything.

The point that we make in above text, and in the film is that “Ed Miliband epitomises the political establishment’s divorce from reality and the public”. This is equivalent to your own point that “The entire establishment, the entire bureaucracy, the entire political class have subordinated this country’s prosperity to radical climate ideology.”

I appreciate the intent, and I really do want everyone who is trying to take down NetZero lunacy to succeed. So I am not thrilled to be critical about this. But I see two major problems.

  1. 1. I don’t think personalising the issue around Ed Miliband helps. It makes it look political. Like it’s a Labour problem. Which will make Labour supporters switch off. Maybe they’re not the target, but it makes the whole think seem more political than it is, when it’s not a Labour issue. It’s a whole establishment issue.
  2. 2. If the trailer is any indication of how the movie is going to be, I think it’s a huge problem to show very clear positive messages against complex graphs and convoluted explanations about energy production. The simple messages win every time. It should be the other way around. The simple, empathic messages should be yours and the convoluted, cold, detached messages should be theirs.

Just my opinion though. And really, I want all efforts to succeed.

Ed Miliband, and in fact the Miliband brothers, have been central to the development of UK climate and energy policy. And their inability to respond to criticism in the way we would expect of ministers of a democratic government is characteristic of advocates of the green agenda at large. And that is why we chose to emphasise Ed Miliband’s shortcomings as the epitome of the agenda.

In regards to your other point, posted out of this thread, about unwittingly repeating Miliband’s clear messaging, it is a characteristic of that intransigence to simply restate the mantra, which we will show with the help of others, and which I have attempted to show in many articles on the subject, are simply a bunch of lies. You’ll see this, I hope in other videos that are going to be coming out shortly. Every flaw that is pointed out to Miliband and DESN is responded to in the same robotic way. And this has been long understood as symptomatic of his political style. Look up the 2011 video with Ed Miliband by Damon Green, for example, in which he repeats the same claim multiple times. This arrogant mode of communicating is precisely the point we raise. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wCem9EZb-YA

Unfortunately, graphs can be complicated. But we must not underestimate the audience in the way that the Milibands have. Everyone can see for themselves that their bills have risen substantially since Labour’s election promises. And they will want to know why.

I understand your criticisms and welcome them. But please be assured that we have been planning a project of this kind for over a year, and have had many discussions about the timing, argument and content, besides having been involved in the debate for several decades. Of course, we’re not going to bring everyone with us, and any remaining Labour voters will be among the hardest to reach. But we’re not going to let any other part of the establishment off the hook!

Listen, I wish you the best of luck. I hope the films work out well and convinces lots of people. I really do.

Here is a finally thought which I hope you’ll take as coming from someone that is 100% on your side.

I’ve hardly ever seen Miliband speak. After watching your video and the YouTube link above, my impression is that they guy is a really, really effective communicator. Extremely good.

In the YouTube video he takes an unassailable high ground – families should not have to suffer, both sides have some blame, they should negotiate and stop disruptions. Absolutely brilliant. And he repeats it over and over.

Your objection is that he sounds like a patronising robot. That maybe true, but I am never going to forget that message now. Nor the clean energy superpower, clean energy jobs, climate crisis message.

I see in the criticism of Miliband something of the failed criticism of Trump. That he speaks like a simpleton, that it’s too simple, that he sounds unintelligent, that it reflects the stupidity of his base etc… And I know for a fact Trump’s communication style really riles up many people, mostly people who like to see themselves as intelligent and well educated. And yet, it’s very deliberate and very effective. He’s a communications genius. I’m not going to put Miliband in that category. But he’s not bad at all. And the visceral negative reaction he elicits reminds me of the kind of visceral negative feeling that Trump also generates in many.

I’m sure you guys know what you’re doing, but just bear in mind that as someone who is 100% on your side, I’ve discovered thanks to you that Miliband is actually quite an effective communicator. Scarily so.

It all started with Tony B.Liar and his meeting with George Soros in April 1996, where the various actions that the New Liebour government took, including the Climate Change Act 2008, were agreed together with nice things for Mr Soros.

Since then it was all tied up by the heir to B.Liar and Miss Common Purpose, Theresa May. None of those last was in any way conservative, nor did they have an ounce of sense between them.

BTW, the trailer is a communications disaster.

It juxtaposes – and repeats many times – Miliband’s super clear, basic messages “clean energy superpower, clean energy jobs, tackle the climate crisis” which sound really good, with a barrage of graphs and data which don’t convey anything very clearly and a voice over trying to give a much more complicated explanation.

In short, if you wanted Miliband’s message to get across to everyone in a clear and positive way, you probably couldn’t have done a better job.

Can see where you’re coming from. If nothing else, the climate heist has been supremely effective at simple messaging (“An inconvenient truth”), which the public have bought into and will take some undoing.

Countering with valid but detailed graphs won’t cut it, nor will basic physics. Apart from the deceitful and fraudulent hockey stick, the public don’t do graphs (nor physics).

What’s the answer? After decades of climate propaganda, it may well be too late – turning the heist on its head (“A convenient untruth”) might be a place to start.

More plausibly, maybe some photogenic young energy realists could kick off a campaign. Antithesis of St Greta – you never know, emerging generations do have a habit of rebelling agianst accepted foolhardiness and folly, masquerading as wisdom.

Ironically, if memory serves right, that’s how a certain J. Kerry Esq came to prominence in the 1970’s as a young, fresh-faced serving U.S. Navy officer testifying against the Vietnam War at a congressional hearing.

Alternatively, await power cuts, blackouts and electricity grid collapse. Would focus thoughts, minds and ballot boxes no end.

I don’t have the answer to be honest. It’s of course much easier to criticise something than to produce something better, so I don’t feel great about being negative about the video.

But I do really hope they don’t try to pit complicated explanations about energy production against Miliband’s simple, easy to grasp, mostly positive messages because I don’t think it will work. No matter how gormless or goofy Miliband looks, his message is the one that will stick.

This says it all: the UK is the source of a mere 0.7% of global emissions, whereas economies that emit over 80% have no intention of prioritising emission reduction.

Somehow it must be communicated that *any* reduction of CO2 emissions is pointless and unnecessary, CO2 is not a driver of planetary temperature, doubling the current atmospheric concentration would lead to less than 0.004K change in temperatures.

Donated. I do think we should focus less on Miliband and more on the wider systemic attack which uses supposed climate change as one of the authoritarian weapons – Miliband just being a particularly committed Marxist. But, thank you Ben for all the effort and courage needed to keep going and keep pushing back.

This film is important to get the message out there of the insanity of the Net Zero agenda in the UK. The general public just sees one side of the story through the MSM and politicians, there is no balance or debate and any opposition is shot down and cancelled.

Made a little contribution to the account earlier today. However, I tried to write a comment that this system didn’t like; not sure why not. Having a look at the trailer clip, one of the missing items is the existence of substantial interconnecter cables, both underwater and via the tunnel with France. This site can be useful: https://grid.iamkate.com/ No doubt there are other sources for the UK.

There are also similar places for other countries that you can explore, but a comparison of the structure between this country and France might be useful. Last time I looked it up, nearly 75% of the supply over there was nuclear, with a large slice being hydroelectric.

Apart from the Department under criticism, there are plenty of utility firms that like to sell products that look “green” as well. They have been around for a while, and not necessarily attributable to that organisation. Have fun with it – no shortage of things to do there.

The whole idea is that the UK (as with every other country willing to capitulate) is to become a Region rather than a Nation. We will be governed not by the government that we voted for, but by International Treaties and Courts. Voting simply gives the illusion of choice. There is no choice. The International private Banks who control the money supply, the UN and WEF dictate policy and our lackey Politicians like Miliband lick their crease.

But will the film point out there is no climate crisis or will that subject matter be a Part II?

I recently had a heated argument with a ‘scientist’ who was convinced the ‘Climate crisis’ is real and who was unaware that we have CO2 and temperature data going back 600 million years showing there is no (long term) relationship between the two. (These data were produced by software models but hey ho.)

In his books, Ian Plimer points out the huge energy and resource requirements required to make wind turbines and solar panels, not to mention the fact they are spreading poisonous elements throughout the countryside, so they cannot be regarded as tools to reduce energy prices or save the world.

My point is that so many people have been completely brainwashed by the media into accepting as an unquestionable fact that there is a climate crisis and that renewable energy costs nothing, that so long as that is the case any sort of documentary saying the lack of stable power generation is damaging to the economy will probably not solve the problem.

varmint

Reply to  CGW

I also had a discussion with a pompous “scientist” who insisted that CO2 was causing a climate crisis. When I asked him how much CO2 was in the atmosphere he could not tell me. Infact he could not even guess a number that was close. This is a bit like me trying to argue with someone about welding but not knowing what a welding rod is. —-Propaganda is a very powerful tool and when a message is repeated often enough it simply becomes the truth. People see the climate crisis on the news everyday and they blindly accept it. It never occurs to them to look at any climate data. They see no need to investigate because they think Investigative journalists are doing that on their behalf. —-Nope, they are not. Bought and paid for TV News simply regurgitates officialdoms world view, and sets about brainwashing the public.

It’s not possible to make all the films all at once, to shoot down all the arguments at once.

I’ve made a film about the climate crisis. It was produced on practically zero budget in a couple of weeks. You can see it here https://climatedebate.co.uk/why-there-is-no-climate-crisis/

This new project is a different film. It will likely touch on the ‘crisis’. But it doesn’t need to get into the climate crisis or the ‘science’ to make its points. Net Zero really is bad enough, all by itself. And if some people don’t see that this time round, they’ll see it soon enough.

adamcollyer

Good luck with the movie!

Just one tiny quibble: I honestly don’t think they are subordinating their growth agenda to climate policy. I think they have genuinely convinced themselves that there is no conflict between the two.

They genuinely believe that Net Zero will create thousands of green jobs and deliver green growth. And that Britain will benefit even more because other countries aren’t doing it. They think we are going to steal a march on the others in our creation of the economy of the future.

The fact that it is all absolute drivel doesn’t stop them believing it. They are not really evil. Just utterly, utterly brainless and stupid.
