Does anyone know the specific stated goal of continued lockdown according to those imposing it?
Are hospitals still overwhelmed? To what extent?
I heard no Nightingales are in use, and would have thought using them should be a higher priority strategy than continuing lockdown.
I think it's generally accepted by experts that Covid cannot be stopped, only slowed down, which is a misconception leading to some simplistic popular views, like anything which spread the virus is bad, with no link being made the the fact that this is mainly to stop hospital pressure.
In the meantime natural immunity is growing rapidly even according to "official" science, e.g.: https://www.nytimes.com/2021/03/04/learning/whats-going-on-in-this-graph-covid-herd-immunity.html
I don't think there is enough solid grounds to justify this continued violation of our civil liberties.
What data and predictions do people supporting continued lockdown base their position on?
None.

Rhetorical question, I presume, but there never has been any sane justification at all, for the way it was done. Maybe, if the dust settles, it will become evident which countries/nations did worse than others. The UK (as a whole) will be well down the list, if the worst is at the bottom. I guess that some US states, Japan, and Sweden would be near the top, but we’ll see.
None.
😆 😆 😆
Absolutely.
So much has baffled me about our whole response to this virus - but our current continuation of restrictions is just bizarre. It's completely unhinged.
I am, perhaps, more positive about the vaccines than others. The reported side effects do concern me - but overall they do seem to be effective and, for the vulnerable, I would judge the benefits outweigh the risks (I may be wrong, but we shall see).
But why, oh why, oh why, oh why, do we need to continue with restrictions when almost all the vulnerable group have been vaccinated?
It's batshit bonkers. Utterly deranged.
If we'd been able to vaccinate the vulnerable in Feb 2020 covid deaths would have been around 10% (maybe) of what we've seen this last year - putting covid lower on the mortality scale than a typical flu.
But the government and Prof Gollum and others still seem to be urging us to continue to do all the ridiculous and unsuccessful things we've been forced to do for this last year.
I really think we need to start a propaganda campaign of our own.
"Still wearing a mask? Still avoiding people? Shops still closed? What was the point of the vaccine then?"
Keep reminding people that the vaccine ought to have meant "freedom". Yes - I know that seems like a capitulation - but you have to realise most people have already capitulated and are servile followers of the church of lockdown. It's those people we need to shake with a hard-hitting message. They're never going to accept that lockdowns and mass vaccination are wrong anyway - at least not for a while yet.
There is absolutely zero justification for continued lockdown.
Lockdown was and continues to be a dramatic overreaction to the scale of the problem at hand.
It has made millions of pounds for unethical businessmen and disaster capitalists, but has had a devastating effect on the mental and physical health of the children in our society, who also will be financially disadvantaged their whole of their lives to pay for this dramatic overreaction, and furthermore will never enjoy the same liberties previous generations have taken for granted.
Utter shame on those authorising and supporting this senseless lockdown.
