Unfortunately, the article doesn't actually link Vaccine Passports and Cronyism. He defines crony capitalist to describe businesspeople who earn profits by lobbying for subsidies and government regulations suppressing competition.
Yes. And I don't like it, so I expected the article to make a case that crony capitalists would be lobbying for vaccine passports in order to suppress competition, but the punch line never came, there was no further mention of suppressing competition with Vaccine Passports, of course not, since Vaccine Passports are general documentation, which all business would use if they wish to . So I cannot see any market manipulation, the tell tale sign of crony capitalism,i.e . no crushing of the competition by handing out for example special permits.
The article does not try to explain what biased benefits might be accrued by businesses using Vaccine Passports that are not available to any business who chose to use the same Vaccine Passport system. Vaccine Passports may represent an encumbrance, but they are the same equal encumbrance, no bias is conferred.Hence I conclude: vaccine passports are not cronyism. Article is a waste of time.
It's feverishly definite the system will be born shite and very very expensive.
The cronies are licking their lips.
