Given the length of this thread it is likely that this question has been asked before, but I’ll ask it again anyway. After all, a week is a long time in this COVID world so things may have changed since then.
Why are SAGE lying? If the conspiracy theories such as the Great Reset are not true, then what reason has the government got to make this out to be worse than what it actually is? It’s killing the economy and doing even worse things to their popularity.
Some of the reasons I’ve read about the govt. getting it wrong and not wanting to back down on their position don’t sit well with me. Other govts have previously gone back on stances they’ve maintained so why couldn’t / wouldn’t they do that now.
It’s not beyond them to all of a sudden find or create some new evidence that shows asymptomatic transmission is not a thing, that lockdowns are not effective, or that PCR testing is not accurate etc so that they can get themselves out of the hole that they’ve dug for themselves.

Ignorance. What reason has Keir Starmer to ask for even stricter measures - and others in society, over-implementing restrictions? Surely they cannot all be part of the same conspiracy? No, it is ignorance - believing what you are told without scrutinising.
If that explains it for them, why not for others?

The information the govt act off of comes from SAGE. So are saying that Patrick Vallance, Chris Whitty, and all of the other top scientists that make up SAGE are ignorant? They’re ignorant to all the other scientists, research papers, and academics out there all stating that the approach they are taking and the science it is based on is all wrong?
They’re obviously aware of this opposition and like any good scientists, they must have looked into it and compared it with their own beliefs/findings. So they either do not support the stance that Mike Yeadon et al are taking or they do, but are being told to say otherwise by the govt in order to save face?

If findings are incompatible with existing beliefs, it can be very difficult for them to pass through the dogma barrier into the thinking part of the brain. As such, we are trapped by Something-Must-Be-Done-ism. If we don't Do Something, (adopts self-righteous tone) PEOPLE WILL DIE. To question that Something Must Be Done is dangerous because (adopts tone of primary school teacher addressing naughty five year old) it will COST LIVES.

I’m no scientists, but what I’ve read from Yeadon, Heneghan and the like, nothing what they are saying is outlandish or wild science. What they say is that it is basic scientific principle. So why is SAGE not accepting fundamental scientific truths as so?
