Not a shock because as soon as England said it wouldn't, Drakeford and Sturgeon decided they would introduce them but this is unusually corrupt even by Welsh standards.

The vote needed a majority of one to pass - a tie means it would fail.

It passed 28-27 *HOWEVER* one conservative MS who clearly stated he was trying to vote against was unable to connect to the zoom session to register his vote.

The presiding officer was made fully aware of this and rules "NO NO NO NO. WE'RE HOLDING THE VOTE".

So Wales literally now has mandatory vax passes due to an IT error and a chair denying a member a vote.

If he'd voted it was 28-28 and the motion would have failed.

https://twitter.com/RWTaylors/status/1445445022535413762 is the official TV evidence of her overruling the attempt to vote despite being fully aware.

the conservative botched the voting. serves the fool right  right. i tried the system out, had to get an nhs login, then upload a car licence then a film of me reading a code number out.

the documentation and procedures were poor.

it took several attempts with different devices before the system accepted that the film matches the license photo. Then i could download  the file and print it on a laser printer. in theory, I could give the paper to anybody, but the photo in the system would show it's not them.

These id systems using digital signatures  will be ubiquitous soon, long after covid is just a bad memory.

it kind of works ok, and by using a license obviates the need for a trusted third party, e.g doctor or priest.I think you can do it with a passport instead of a car license. if you have no license or passport, there may be a way to uas a trusted third party to sign a photo.

I had to use  the hardcopy route since my phone is too old to run the app.

@ukresponse it's true, digital ids, for better or worse, will be as much a part of everyday life as bank card, pin numbers and phones. it's just how it is.

Correct, it wont.  It took Drakeford under 7 hours to say it might have to be expanded.

But that article you posted is utter nonsense.  Several of the things claimed are demonstrably untrue.  It detracts from the message by lying.

@ukresponse people in Germany are just as demented as those in England, or even more demented.

...and today voted to extend the scope of vax passes despite falling cases for the last 3 weeks.

@splattt which tells us, they are not a health specific policy in response to a "pandemic". The thin veil of democratic respectability given to this by a cursory "debate" in which one Conservative MS was laughed at for daring to raise a question prior to the vote in the Sennedd denies the reality that the Welsh govt would have introduced so-called "vaccine passports" anyway in time, under guise of a continuing emergency irrespective of whether cases are rising or falling. Just as No.10 have already very lightly primed the introduction of "vaccine passports" in England on 10 days' notice.

Remember Blair has openly bragged that he has had his agents infiltrating govts the world over for years to ensure this happens.

Reports from other countries where strict "vaccine passports" have been introduced say they are already having their intended outcome of bankrupting hospitality businesses.

The assault on hospitality and alcohol, contrived from day one (without data or evidence to support either were responsible for any great spread in "cases" let alone "Covid deaths") continues apace 19 months later.

All in all, making it ridiculously difficult and potentially harmful to personal health (depending on how many "booster jabs" one is obliged to have) in order to travel out of the country for anything resembling "fun" and then killing off the principal outlets for conviviality in the UK at the same time cannot be accidental.

For all Toby Young's belief it's all a cock-up, it can't be.
