American and Euro idiots   call it weaponizing the world's food supplies. if Russia won't  sell her corn  to poor nations. And they say  Russian corn, is the world's food supply, the cheek of it!

Lesson from primary school: If you want to share it, you have to  learn to ask politely.

That's why Africa has not joined the dumbarse sanctions, Africans are more polite than Europeans and Americans , who all traded  Africans as slaves.

Would Russia stop the blockade of Odessa, if asked politely?

Would Russia stop the blockade of Odessa, if asked politely?

I think the chance for that is gone now.Perhaps  a week or two ago, while the Ukrainian Donbas front still looked strong, I think there was a window of time when humility and polite negotiation could have worked to free Odessa, unfortunately for Ukraine, their  front in Donbas has very rapidly collapsed in the last week, there has even been open mutiny in the 115 brigade. So Putin is back in control, and he will, I think secure all donbas and Crimea in the same brutal way he secured Mariupol. It's a very similar situation, a large Ukrainian garrison sheltering amongst civilian human shields in a large  city that is totally cut off from resupply. Russia is in a very strong position, now. I expect Russia to use their superior air power and artillery to reduce the city to rubble and capture or kill every man jack of the Ukrainian army there. It's becoming a familiar pattern and perhaps something about it warms the cockles of Conservative Russian hearts - one reaps what one sows.

If that is how it goes, Putin may  be  emboldened to complete his heroic mission to take the whole of South Ukraine including Odessa to make Ukraine a surrounded landlocked state, an ideal outcome for Putin.

But he he may not do that! It's up in the air at present. I think he will be tempted to leave NATO  and the West with the problem of  starvation in the third world, after all we told Ukraine we could save it. A promise we were unable  to fulfill from fear of a nuclear conflagration.

it's only of Academic interest now, Russia has the 81000 troops of the JFO,  contained it cauldrons and is annihilating them at the rate of 100 per day. basic arithmetic shows that in 36 months, they will all  either be dead or residing behind barbed wire in Outer Siberia, it does not matter which.

yes, or worse. good/bad ideas are childish

I'm a peaceful Russophile. NATO's behind the  shortages, for prolonging war. NATO  decided  post facto that the war' s to bleed Russia dry (yet  the rouble is higher!)

By prolonging the  war, and mining Odessa, Ukraine stopped corn shipments, let Ukraine remove its mines and perhaps ships can sail?  Zelensky has a quixotic idea of expelling the Russia  from Donbas and/or Crimea.

Why would Russia  worry? She  exports more corn than any other nation, Putin knows.  fFeed yourselves and find  your own energy. And good luck!

Palmerston might  have said, Russia has  no eternal allies, or  enemies. Russia's  interests are eternal, and those interests Putin must  follow, you do not become the biggest  country on earth by copying  Robin Hood!

Do  not play poker against  Russia , Russia  has a much better hand than NATO

( having  control over the largest supplies of energy and food on the planet) as well as a huge military industrial complex. That's how it is!

Russia slowly   wins, Russia won't   quit and Zelensky Loses  daily. To break the stalemate,  NATO must    back off,  UKAF   will go soon from the Donbas/Crimea.

First NATO will  heed  anti-war adherents, Henry Kissinger, and the daily Telegraph.

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2022/05/23/henry-kissinger-warns-against-defeat-russia-western-unity-sanctions/

As  at Mariupol,  at severodonetsk-lysychansk, ways in    or out of, are under  guns  and the JFO  is  marooned there,  15,000 troops waiting around without hope , before  being given   Mariupol treatment.

Well Putin is prepared to kill the people of Donbas, in order to help them.

The ones that the shelling doesn't help get exported to Russia, or they can sit in basements underneath their shattered towns.

It is pretty clear Putin is that bad. Unfortunately 80% of Russian are stupid enough to believe what they are told by the State media. Snootski is one of them.

You're saying Putin has to cause mass starvation in order to teach NATO some kind of lesson?

I'm a Russophile but I remain as fair as I can be since I am, over  that , also a man of peace. I am not responsible for Russia or Ukraine.

NATO  is   the main author of any shortages, and for prolonging this pointless war, which could easily have been constrained to a minor border skirmish of the sort that used to be common in the balkans. NATO seems to have decided  post facto that the point of the war is to bleed Russia dry (whatever that means, since the rouble is worth more than ever, they can't print enough of the stuff!) by prolonging the war, regardless of the cost.

By mining Odessa, Ukraine has made it impossible to ship corn from there (great job guys!), who else should be responsible, let Ukraine remove its mines and perhaps ships can sail, if NATO backs off.

Unfortunately, Zelensky is not interested in peace and seems only fixated on the quixotic idea of expelling the Russian army from Donbas and/or Crimea, which will not happen in a million years.

Why should Russia  or I care? Russia already exports more corn than any other nation on earth, So Russians  say to the world,  feed yourselves and make your own energy.Good luck with that!

These people out on the Internet say it almost as well as me! The mines stopping the corn are planted by Ukrainian cretins  to fool mugs like Fingal!

Russia has said already. blocks on Odessa can be lifted in a jiffy,  in return for Western sanctions being lifted. NATO will learn now to be humble.

It was always likely that Ukraine would eventually be outnumbered, and out gunned. The time turns out to be now. Yee Ha! It's a Turkey shoot now, with Ukrainian troops as the turkeys!
