This graph, in my view, is the key to considering whether this Government is libertarian or not. Since the population-adjusted death rate is lower now (and was in 2020) than in any year prior to 2004, you have to ask yourself why we weren't locked down every year prior to 2004, even when there were various disease blooms. The answer is that our basic liberties were assumed as unquestionable. The reason we are locked down now is that the Government, and now with them a large part of the population, does not assume we have unquestionable liberties.

This means that Boris and the whole Government, and the whole shadow cabinet, must be regarded as severe authoritarians. They are entirely unfit to continue. They are a stain on our society, which is much better than this.

The mortality rates simply do not justify lockdown. Not even close.

The first lockdown is the hardest to do politically and socially.

The danger is now they've done it once AND realised how easy it is to maintain with psychological tools they'll look to do it more often.

That initial hesitancy of doing something for the first time with unknown consequences has gone forever.

Which is why we need some law, some powerful mechanism, that truly prevents this from ever happening again.

We need to reflect deeply on how this became possible, with even judicial review by courts proving inadequate to the task of guarding the most basic human rights under pressure of fear.

And we need cultural renewal, so people again appreciate their own freedom and the benefits of it. We are not anti-authoritarian because we want native authoritarianism; we have been a liberal country in the real sense of the word because we want people to thrive, and we recognise that freedom, not oppression, enables people to thrive.

Yes, we need good health to thrive, too, but the statistics show we are very much thriving in terms of mortality -- the big problem is lockdown, more than it is Covid .

Indeed Atlas; a true Conservative government would abandon all the tax and squander policies such as the Green Nonsense, HS2 and suchlike and seek to reduce taxes.

What class, working class?

She was a grocer's daughter from Grantham.
