Could we today be witnessing the worst decisions ever made in man's history?

What are acceptable boundaries  of Skepticism in normal life ? Where are our boundaries? Mine were once fixed like those of Kepler and Newton, but in the last century or so , Einstein, Plank and Dirac, discovered   uncertainty into all happenings. And that's just how it is!

So should regular folks  restrain ourselves to the time dishonored lies about the potency of covid19 and the obvious lies about the lethality (or otherwise ) of the novel vaccines, or the threat or non threat for rising levels of CO2.

I'm asking is a legitimate area of skepticism with boundaries, or is it all up for grabs by every ignorant Tom Dick and Harry?

Our government has recently displayed an almost infinite appetite for lies, insisting that  the government's opinion is correct by definition. In medieval times, this was regarded as the divine right of kings. And to this day, the Pope issues texts  that must be taken as correct by catholics under pain of suffering an eternity of hell's fires. I was taught to fear that fate!

Should we for example, extend our zones of skepticism to every aspect of the war in Ukraine, as I  do. I believe that anything coming from government today is quite likely  to be false or crazy or both, more often than not.

For example, perhapa it was unbelievably nutty to assume that a hostile superpower in  Europe , the NATO powers,  could surround and subdue Russia and most of its near neighbours, Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Syria the list is endless.

Was it a mad folly to try to surround, the biggest country on earth in a ring of armaments, when Russia is   a nuclear armed behemoth, with control of the largest part of the world's food and energy. And then complain about rising prices WTF! Stupid is what stupid does. In my view it was false and crazy.

Could we be witnessing the worst decisions ever made in history? Just asking, should we be skeptical? It's just how it is. Have a think, let me know.
