First time on here so apologies if this in the wrong place.
I always thought that implants and chips were the stuff of conspires or way off in the future. But came across a silicone Valley company called ProfusA who develop Biointegrated sensors. Look at their Website (profuse.com) and their 2 min long intro video.
Then do a general google and check out various articles from the “trade” on their developments and collaborations with universities such as Imperial College London. I think the B&M Gates foundation are also donors via NIH (but I need to confirm this).
Seems like their developments align well with Sir Patrick Vallances own ideas on invisible real time patient monitoring systems. I don’t seem to be able to attach videos and documents on the forum, so Youtube “Predicting public health in 2025 Sir Patrick Vallance” where in 2014 he talks about the future of medicine developments leading up to 2025. Fast forward to 6 min 30 secs for the bit on redundancy of Fitbits and introduction of invisible patient monitors.
ProfusA already have European approval for a similar blood/oxygen monitor, so wouldn’t be too big a step to roll out something similar for the masses to monitor early signs of a future mutant virus pandemic or to monitor how an experiment medicine is performing.
