Thanks, I see the background. But I don't know why, with that being common knowledge, countries like the UK and indeed most of the US follow what the WHO says (particularly when it makes glaring changes to policy and definitions) to suit an emerging narrative without questioning it.

Or are we seeing the effect of lobbying of the WHO by vaccine producing nations?

It might be because the WHO belongs to the United Nations, the nearest thing in the world to global government. Britain is one of the 5 permanent members of the UN security council, with the US, France, Russia and China. Hence perhaps it behoves us to promote the objectives of the United Nations, since we brought it into being at the Security Council in 1945.

Its first legislative act was concerning the compilation of accurate statistics on the spread and morbidity of disease. The irony is that the covid-19 statistics are a mess. Some things never change.

What is to become of all the text books on immunology published before March 2020? Will there be a bonfire?

In all seriousness, should we be looking out for differences in future editions, now this area of science has become so politicalised?
