What data and predictions do people supporting continued lockdown base their position on?

I think their main fear is the EU third wave, blowing the top off icu capacity, which is just being discovered in Germany now:

The trouble is that doubling time is quite short, and one more double means icu wards full.we have far fewer icu beds per person here. At present, the uk is doing well

regulation after regulation, is passed using the Precautionary Principle to avoid having to take direct responsibility for events when things go wrong. As they always do. Given the way the media work the accidental death of a few people becomes a huge media cause celebre and the governing class scrambles to "do something". But if government policy using the Precautionary Principle kills tens of thousands of people and destroys the livelihood of millions that is rarely a direct problem for the governing class because the media can only personalize and sensationalize small stories of a few individuals, not the suffering of huge numbers of people. Especially if it was media hype that caused the initial small crisis to become a huge crisis. As is the case here.

It's all spot on. But it's hard to know the solution. In previous decades those in authority had been through the war, so they knew what was what, today , in Wales for example, we have Mr Drakeford, a Latin Teacher and in England you have Boris Johnson, a latin scholar.

But what is there to prevent such fools drifting into positions of leadership? Nothing, I'm afraid. So it's hard to know the solution. A law to ban on Latin scholars from leadership roles?

given an assumed error rate of 0.1% for the PCR

Where's your reference for that?

What specificity and sensitivity are you using?

What is the community prevalence?

You need that data to do anything.

Listen closely to the slips from doris who is not running the show and never has..
Look beyond to what's going on behind the scenes and the plans afoot and therein lies your answer..
They know there never has been and there is no need now to continue lockdowns based on dodgy statistics and a dodgy test but they dont give a toss.whike they can push their real.adgenda and get away with it it's full steam ahead....
This has not been through incompetence but has been planned for a long time but how to pull it off was the sticking point but not anymore..
They have contracted a company to continue with the propaganda campaign for 2 years..why. oh yes they can chat with the clever Rona that tells the time.. ignores you when you eat..leaves unmasked supermarket workers alone..let everyone off for 1 day at Christmas.. knows what time to come out after a pub was shut.. wont get through a face nappy or plastic hanging screen cos it csnt work out how to go under it or around the sides..knows if you hug granny or travel more than 2 Miles from your home..favours joggers and dog walkers..loves ferrets..let's you go to work but god help you going over the hour exercise or god forbid sit on a park bench..it knows to kill only politicians who question the dodgy narrative....its loving its 14 months of fame when others only get 15 mins..amazing.. what utter bullshit.

Typical rubbish post. After all, what's Germany got to do with it? And what doubling time is "quite short". Is it Germany's (which is 3 weeks) or the UK's (which is not doubling at all because the "cases" are falling). On top of that the link doesn't work, at least not from me.
