I feel strongly that we are not currently winning the argument. We are sharing facts, figures and research within our own bubble, preaching to the converted. We need to start using the same tactics as Project Fear - playing to people's basic emotions and fears. The average man (or woman!) on the Clapham omnibus doesn't want to look at statistics and graphs, we need to pull his heart strings.

This video is a suggestion of how we might do this #NoMoreLockdowns :

The trouble is that people genuinely don't care, if they are not affected themselves. I have confided suicidal ideations to FRIENDS, who basically say, oh worse happened in the war; pull yourself together, what do you want, to kill vulnerable people?

This is completely correct.

For months I have been posting official statistics and charts on social media, but making them only visible to my social circle. People I know in person.

Despite all of my evidence-based arguments, my efforts have gained very little traction. Undoubtedly, many of you have experienced the same frustration.

A more visceral, emotive form of messaging is needed. One that starkly distills the harm caused by lockdowns.

What we dissenters need to create (and share) is social media content that will take a baseball bat to people's emotions. What is needed is a mirror image of SAGE's recommended communication strategy.

Absolutely @bradw4

My stab at a short video was an attempt at this - thoughts?

It doesn't really work.

Most people supporting lockdown either doesn't work in the first place or has a nice, cushy civil service job with nice guaranteed salary.
Add to that a nice big house and settled home life.
To these people lockdown is fine, there are no negative effects to them at all.

You're never ever going to persuade these people as they're enjoying it and basically don't care.

The lockdown zealots i know are either retired or work in government. The one thing in common is they've lost nothing at all due to them.
