There are varying opinions on the covid vaccines on this site.

Given the reality that they have been rolled out, what do people hope is the result?

Here in multiple choice format, there are 2 opposite answers.

A. The vaccine program succeeds in the aim of saving lives and shortening the pandemic.

B. The vaccine program fails in the aim of saving lives and shortening the pandemic.

I vote A.

I vote A.

I want the SARs CoV 2 vaccines go through the full FDA 505(b)1 regulatory approval timeline (or equivalent) like every other public health vaccine I have had in the past, my kids have had in the past, and the vaccines I will willing take in the future.

Good overview here

https://drug-dev.com/development-timelines-drug-development-times-what-it-takes-part-3/

https://www.nuventra.com/resources/blog/505b1-505b2-pathways-for-new-drugs/

Which takes at least 4 to 6 year to establish safety and efficacy.

Despite decades of work there has never been any kind of safe or effective human corona-virus vaccine. None. All failed to get approval.

The vaccines as they exist now do not giver sterilizing immunity. So have no impact on infection rates.

The vaccines have only short time period efficacy. So will have no meaningful impact on general population serious symptoms / hospitalization rates.

They are very weak effect vaccines so give no measurable protection even in the short term to the very specif and unique high risk groups, who overwhelming have weak / low immune system

The current vaccines in the last year have killed and maimed more people so far than all other vaccines combined over the last 30 plus years.  For a new positive health outcome in the general population of basically zero.

The actual pandemic ended Q3 2020. What we have now is a classic case-demic. Due to a clinically invalid test used to determine  case status.

Technically it was not even a pandemic as all causes morality rates budged little from 10 year median range. Look at the equivalent statistics for 2009-2012, 1968-1969, and 1957-1958. The last three actual pandemics.

It was always going to be outcome B. From the very start. Because of some very basic medical science known for over 100 years and confirmed over an over again.

So the vaccine was never go to work to control SARs CoV2 because it could never work. So all that stuff you seem to believe, just ass-covering lies by an incompetent public health bureaucracy.

What do you hope for?

A. Hope

B. Experience

B is necessary for A to be based on more than fantasy.

What a childish question. Discussion should be evidence led. Vaccines work, not always and sometimes have side affects.

@ttt The question is loaded.  Do you work for a polling company?  Such leading questions are usually their forte.

So far it is very interesting to see that other than me, there is not one person who can answer the question.

Just to remind you of the question.... Which to you wish for...

A. The vaccine program succeeds in the aim of saving lives and shortening the pandemic.

B. The vaccine program fails in the aim of saving lives and shortening the pandemic.

It is very simple to understand and everyone must hope for one or the other.

But it looks like answering presents a real problem.......

A. Answering yes to this would seem to betray the anti-vaxx cause.

B. Answering yes to this would be too shameful.

@ttt There's always a chance that the two options allow no chance for nuanced opinion.

As presented, they're a bit like: 'Answer yes or no. Have you stopped beating your wife?'

@ttt You make the assumption that your question is a good question.  It isn't.

If we are voting for hypothetical situations, I vote that Fauci had never tried to evade US regulations and moved his dangerous experiments to a less well regulated country.

Does that help anyone?

I don't know why any of you give thinksaboutnuffin/95%protected/checkthefacts or ewloe the satisfaction of a response to such garbage. Stop feeding the trolls/77th.

They are here to destroy this forum and to stiffle any conversation or debate. They contribute absolutely nothing to the sceptical debate whist spouting nonsense and seem to have endless time to be here posting.

You are either conversing with someone deliberately out to wind you up (a troll) or a 77th shill out to destroy any scepticism or debate. The only acceptable response to them is to laugh.

@jockcovidiot

It would seem that you only want to debate with people you agree with.

I have news.... that is not a debate.

I know it is frustrating when you fail to justify your reasoning to a rational opponent. You have 3 options.

1. listen to the opposition view and consider it properly.

2. Examine your own argument and see if you can improve it.

3. Throw your toys out of the pram.
