The population contains a mix of these age groups.
Many people do have co-morbidities, especially in the older age groups, so that impacts the mean death rate.
The above numbers, while interesting cannot be used to estimate the IFR.

124,000/68,000,000 = 0.00182 =0.182% (approximated to 0.2% for simplicity)
0.00182 is 1 in 548 people dead from Covid.
