So imprison 99% of the population and about them to?what's the recovery rate for covid 19? What was shielding for? What was the point of lockdowns then? What's the point of masks?social distancing?tiers and so on?we have to continue with the rubbish even after having said vaccine so what's the point of having it? It's so infectious you have to have yesterday after test to tell you you have it why?if I had flu believe me I would know about it. Why aren't the nightingale hospitals full to the brim of covid patients which they were designed for ( oh yes no staff) .if this is to save the nhs and not line the pockets of chums of the government then why waste billions instead of investing those billions into the nhs so they had more than enough capacity to cope?many many more questions unanswered. I could go on but you get my drift. So I wont be refusing the vaccine because I dont have a social conscience I will be refusing the vaccine because i dont want it and i dont believe i need it. I will repeat what others have said; I am not an anti-vaxxer but just because some people with much to gain have produced a potion, I don't need it and will not take it.

It's a powerful sales pitch we are now getting but I would rather trust my own moral compass having seen what others are capable of.

You're missing out the key fact that older people are the ones that do not generate an immune response after 1 dose which is the whole point many vaccines require 2 doses.
And its this group most likely to get sick or die.

So you'll be giving a single dose which is ineffective to the people that need protection the most.

You also seem to be claiming the vaccine produces immunity. We have no idea if it produces immunity or prevents transmission. All we've looked for is symptom reduction.
Many vaccines do NOT prevent infection or transmission and so far we have no data to know if any of the covid ones do either.
Based on that, all your plans for protection and herd immunity are null and void because we have no data to suggest it'll help with either to date. It MIGHT do, but also might not.

Lets do some simple maths based on Pfizer's figures from Phase 3.
if you assume the 90%+ real world is nearer 80 and the 51% from 1 dose is nearer 40 (because most vaccines work out 10-15% lower in real world than trials).

You're vaccinating twice the number of people but with a strategy that's only half as effective. Made worse by the older people are far more likely to be the ones *need* a double dose for protection.
That gets you nowhere AND means more of the people most likely to get sick or seriously sick from this thing have LESS overall protection as you've wasted it on others who do not get sick.

Basically its a huge waste of vaccine and lives.

Most under 65s dont NEED a vaccine at all - the risk to them is minimal.

The strategy of focussing on giving useful protection to the groups that need it and allowing those that do not is entirely correct.

If we had data the vaccine prevents transmission there'd be some merit to vaccinating thr young and those with high contacts first to break the chain but we simply dont have that data.

Not true. Herd immunity arises when a population has sufficient immunity. That can happen naturally, through vaccination or a combination.
Its a natural end point which will come at some point regardless of our actions. All we can do is change the dynamics of it.

The rest of your post is completely irrelevant as we have no data at all to say whether any of these vaccines confer any prevention of transmission. We only know they reduce symptoms.
