I say this as I am in the vulnerable group and this change to vaccine rollout( see below) could save lives.

Mr Blair has been in the news today, along with Professor David Salisbury, in charge of immunisation programmes at the Department of Health until 2013.

Professor Salisbury thinks there is a much better way to administer the Pfizer/bioNtech vaccine. I strongly agree with it. It is very simple; just use up all the vaccines giving 1 jab to as many vulnerable people as possible.

Just 1 jab confers 91% protection, while 2 jabs gives 94%. Obviously, since time is short and we have insufficient vaccine (ports being closed) to give all vulnerable people 2 jabs. We have 5 million doses. So we can either :

1) give 2.5 million people 2 jabs or giving them them 94% protection, but leaving 2.5 m people with no extra protection or

2) give 5 million people 1 jab give 5 m people 91% extra protection.

it's obviously better to use option 2 since giving the 2nd jab confers so little extra protection. Give as many first doses to as many people in risk groups as we can. When vaccine is plentiful, give all their second jab. Please ask Nadhim Zahawi (and the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation) to discuss the better scheme.

The fact that NERVTAG are getting behind this one jab idea is encouraging on one level; they actual do want to minimise fatalities and are not playing some sort of crazy mind game. In this case they are absolutely doing the correct thing.
2.5m people times 94% =2350000
while
5m people times 91% =4550000 ... nearly twice as much total immunity,
On another level it is discouraging. Why did the SAGE/NERVTAG brigade need to the spoonfed this very obvious idea? Only Answer: they are very stupid people. Even Tony Blair could figure this out!

My question has always been. What if you do not want the vaccination? "At this moment in time there are no plans for it to be mandatory " does not answer my question.

"The cumulative incidence of COVID-19 cases over time among placebo and vaccine recipients began to diverge by 12 days after the first dose, and 52.4% vaccine efficacy (95% confidence interval: 29.5, 68.4) was observed between dose 1 and dose 2, indicating the early onset of a partially protective effect of immunization."

From Pfizer Phase 3 results.

The actual data would seem to contradict Blair who as well as a war criminal now seems to think he's an epidemiologist.

Fon, are you sure you're in the right place, the right forum?
Or are you advertising for the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, by any chance?
What's this "Mr. Blair this" and "Mr. Blair that"?
The man promotes digital health passports and is a compromised politician.
Who the f cares what he thinks about vaccines?
Or about anything?
