It would be interesting to hear from any police officers on this forum and what their thoughts are on today’s scenes are. Surely there are some good officers out there who think this is all BS, surely!
Police officers today are little more than programmed drones. The good old "bobbies on bicycles, two by two" (generally pre-PACE) would not be tolerated now. The police service has been suffocated with political correctness. I was not sad to leave.
I was in the car once with my dad, and it must have been about 40 years ago.
I forget the reason, some minor think to do with traffic and this copper was going nuts at dad.
The old man just smiled at him and said “son, if you don’t sack off you won’t make it to my age”
And this copper completely folded. I’ve said it myself since, and you can see their “brains” reset in real time.
I got 'warned' by a young cop this afternoon.
"You have to go home, it's a national lockdown. If you don't go home, you could be arrested. You've been warned. Do you understand?' I simply said 'no'.
He looked like a lovely young man with his whole life ahead of him. I could imagine his family being really proud of him in his uniform under normal circumstances and yet here he was trying to intimidate peaceful people.
I wanted to ask him how he he would be able to look his future children and grandchildren in the eye and explain to them his part in enabling this global tyranny to take over, but kept my mouth shut.
I have to admit, there have been a few tears rolling down my cheeks today - it's heartbreaking to see what's become of our country.
That's a nice story Illimitible - from a time when you could chat to a cop as a human being. This lot yesterday were so fired up, you'd probably have got arrested for mistaking them for humans and speaking to them as such.
I have submitted a Freedom of Information request concering the police response to this protest:
Dear Sir/Madam
I would like to submit a freedom of information request concerning the Metropolitan police's response to the StandUpX anti-lockdown demonstration in Central London on 28th November 2020.
I would like information as to the estimated total cost of the operation and the number of police officers and police vehicles involved in the response. I would also like to know if any other police forces were involved in the response.
From Daniel Evans
I shall await their response, I suspect the total cost will be in the millions, how can that be justified?
