Did the cretins in the government think it was the only organised power in town?
Following success exercising totalitarian lockdown power , government is now finding that lockdown can be used to excuse other types of misbehaviour. The teachers have noticed that they can do as the government has done, i.e. whatever the hell you fancy, using lockdown as an excuse. The Union ghost is out of the box. My advice: Workers of the world unite, and stay safe at home watching day time TV!
Unions will always use any situation it can to kick a tory government.
Its the paramilitary branch of the Labour party.
I know a lot of teachers and NONE of them want the union crap.
They all want to be in schools, teaching face to face.
There is something eerily familiar about this particular industrial dispute.
It reminds of the miners overplaying their hand.
Will the teachers soon come to regret their militancy? Boris obviously doesn't have the backbone to bring them to heel. But his successor might.
One can only hope.
This isnt the *teachers* being militant. Its the unions using them as pawns.
Sadly to teach, to get any form of required legal protection you have to be in a union.
And once you are, you're a pawn for them to use for political means.
I hate to say it but they’ve timed it right.
I just checked the stats, and as of 14th December we have nearly 10 M people on furlough.
It actually increased in December.
That’s too many with their snouts in the public trough. On balance were at a stage where too many people want lockdown and free money to continue.
This is going to be messy.
