Has anyone actually downloaded or used it?
I haven't. Why would I want to play what is effectively a stupid version of Pokémon Go where the prize isn't that you find a rare mon hiding under a bridge, but two weeks of enforced daytime television on SSP with huge fines for not adhering to it.
I also generally give comedic names to the greeters when going somewhere that requires it. So far I've been Hugh Mungus, Ivor Hardy, Pat McGroin, Ian Paul Freeley (Sunday Times bestselling author of "The Yellow River"), Luke Sharp, Mike Oxbig, and so forth. Nobody's batted an eyelid either.
No, I haven't downloaded it either, but I heard that actually some companies that enrolled themselves in test and trace have been told to download it or face 10k fines, so I guess that's where the download numbers coming from.
And by the way I am switching to somwthing like nokia 105 for £15, so I won't even have a chance of downloading it 🙂

Well I have not worn a mask throughout all of this generally I have been left alone ( except work where I have reached a reluctant compromise) except for the odd questioning.now however ( a very unpleasant day 2 days ago) I find I am questioned more and more and unless you sign in on the track n trace app at many of the eating/ drinking establishments you wont be served.i have been refused 3 times now to sit in and have a coffee and bite to eat. People are on the door pointing you towards it and in one establishment I was told they had to see the screen to prove you had signed in or you couldn't have anything.i walked out in disgust needless to say it was everywhere ( that particular day anyway) so I have avoided them all the last few days as it really was unpleasant. It left me very upset and saddened and I needed to chat with sane friends just to feel normal and positive again hence being here.i have found chatting to fellow sceptics is keeping my spirits up in a crazy sinister world. 🙄 😀
Would nt it be nice if someone created a dummy version of the Test and Trace app for when one is forced to use the app when going about ones lawful business. The dummy app would look just like the Test and Trace App on casual inspection. It would act just like the Test and Trace app., or so it seemed to casual third party observers. But the app would be nothing more than a Potemkin dummy app that does absolutely nothing. Just shows a dummy home screen and venue check in screen. And pretends to take a phone of the QR code. That should be more than enough.
Very easy to create, distribute and for users to install on Android phones.
Now that might be a very useful app to have on one's Android phone until the current mass hysteria ends.

Yes, it would be nice. But it would miss the opportunity to demonstrate the inadequacy of this and the testing programme to its promoters who don't listen to reason.
We can choose the balance between short-term benefit against long-term benefit.
