We're not in a pandemic.

I agree that technically the Pandemic is over, but the disease remains rife.

I utterly reject … some extraordinary crisis. And what have you achieved? More lockdowns? Zero "control" of a virus. you bunch of effing morons.

So I assume that is a rhetorical question to your representative in Parliament, since I have had very little to do with it myself. The only notable achievements, being fair, were:

  • the spread was slowed, so the virus peaked quickly in winter and started to plunge

  • there was the speedy discovery and rollout of the vaccines.
  • And there is definitely something funny going on in the world, it is not unique to Britain.

I think lockdown is a great stupid over reaction. The scientific experts insist covid19 is deadly and rife. It would be cheaper to find better scientific experts, but unfortunately, but that would not be 'good optics' for the government.

Where are we heading with this?

I think we are heading towards fewer cases of covid19, if the take-up of the vaccine is high enough. If not we are heading eventually towards a Kier (sooner, longer, harder, tougher) Starmer government, not a good place.

What are the possible long term side effects of the various vaccines on offer?

They could turn you into a goat.

Please cite your source for this worrying development.

But what I think you mean is that no-one has any idea.

Someone walks up to you in the street and offers you some pills, you ask "what do these do?" they respond "dunno.".

Would you take them? Would you advocate that other people take them?

The answer to both of those questions appears to be 'Yes'.

It's quite possible. Fear from the mere mention of covid has turned a lot of people into asses.

You go into hospital for something.
You're offered a pioneering medical treatment for your ailment that has gone through all the normal channels to prove its safe.
Its been approved for 6 months.
You're going to say "no" because its unproven?!

Well, it's a very, very, very small chance of turning you into a goat, or something else, on the other hand it has a fairly high chance of preventing a person getting sick from or transmitting covid19. That is a known fact.
